The fourth device is configured exactly as the others and works fine when I use one of the three ports assigned to the other cameras. Any suggestions on what could be the cause or a port that works would be appreciated.

  I don't understand why I can't get ports in the range 1024 and up to work but I stumble on a suggestion for 7070 and it works. Which leaves me with all four cameras working outside on ports 80 and 8000, 8080-7070. That solves my immediate problem, but has yet to determine why I couldn't just specify the ports to open. Who will have to wait until the next problem arises.

• WVC54GCA Missing WPA/WPA2 security in the web interface options

  I just had a WVC54GCA and discovered that there are some missing configuration options in wireless settings:

  Web interface > base: Wireless Settings > [modify security settings] > Security Mode:

  the drop-down list gives me two options: Disable WEP, but not WPA, WPA2.

  I've upgraded to the latest firmware (1.1.00 build 02), but the problem remains.

  Tried different browsers (Firefox 3.5, IE8) with the same result.

  Is this a bug in the firmware?  A defective unit? Anyone else having the same problem?

  Try to reset your IE browser settings and then try to connect to your camera configuration page and check if you are able to find that the options... If it is still impossible to find the WPA/WPA2 Option on your camera, press and hold the reset button for 60 seconds... Release the reset button... Unplug the power cable from your camera, wait 60 seconds and reconnect the power cable...

  Now check if you are able to find that the options... If still no so I think this could be the problem with the camera...  I think that you need to replace your camera.

  Looks like you have 2 different networks, one wired and one wireless router?   Not sure, try to simplify your network, a router and that all connect.  Once everything is on a dish of 192.168.1.X network you can then follow the TZO tutorial to set up the cam.

  We have 2 WVC54GCAs and 1 WVC54GC cameras. We use V1.00R24 firmware on the 2 cameras WVC54GCA and we are unable to set the area on the page of sensitivity. We use IEXPLORER version 7.0.5730. The popup rises and seems correct. We can select full screen or custom. We can adjust the custom boxes and everything seems fine. After we select apply and reopen the window of sensitivity all zones are set correctly, as we have done before we clicked on apply. However, files that are uploaded to the FTP continue to show only the upper-right of the video window. This seems to be a bug or something that we are not set up correctly. I read a lot of messages to use IEXPLORER, we use.

  I solved this problem. It doesn't seem to be a problem with the camera, or settings. The problem seems to be in the codec or players. We tested the versions of Windows Media Player 10 and 11, as well as in VLC. All showed only the upper left quadrant of the video. However, when we play in Quicktime format, it shows the entire screen. We use the MP4 format.

• Help with RTSP and Sprint Samsung Rant (M540) - works only with WVC54GCA!

  I have a Samsung M500, who worked with my WVC54GCA but like my wife and I qualified for upgrades of $150.00 rebate we both had the Samsung Rant (M540) and I can't get the phone to play the camera feed to save my life.

  I used the same configuration (rtsp://tzo-address:554 / PIN) who worked with the M500 and beedoo.  The M540 uses Polaris browser (I think).  I even tried the OperaMini browser and could not get this to work.

  Nobody has had any luck with this model?  We can return to the Sprint and return the phones and try other phones they have, just to make sure that we get the model that works.

  Given that the camera supports more than two concurrent users, I was eager to each of our cell phones to access the RTSP feed on this camera.  Unfortunately, the Samsung M540 does not support this flow.  I am able to access, but which is not exactly what we want.

  Since then, I went to the Sprint store and exchanged them for the Samsung M520 which has no problem.  We have access to great food!

  I just thought of a simple solution. I'll plug the WVC54GCA in a simple timer for 24-hout device, set it to be on all day except for the minimal out of time limit set by the timer. I'll have it turn off to say, 03:00. This way it will reset every day and everything should be fine. If the device behaves badly, at least I know that it will be corrected in a day. A solution pleasant low tech!

• Need confirmation that my streaming rtsp for the WVC54GCA settings are correct

  I have therefore recently implemented the WVC54GCA for viewing remotely via internet. I use Verizon DSL Westell Versalink 327W bridge, with the latest firmware (4.4.3) I was able to transmit an alternate HTTP port (1025), which allows the two TCP/UDP to my static IP of cams. I was also able to transfer the RTSP port (554), which allows the two TCP/UDP to my static IP cam. My problem is that my router will not forward any additional ports other than 1025 and 554.

  There is a setting on the camera for RTP data port (ranked from port 5000) and I can't transfer port 5000. I tried to change the setting of the cam to a bunch of different other than 5000 ports (6881, 1024, 1900, etc.), but no matter what I try, no other ports can be opened through my router. It seems to work via routers firmware (i.e., it looks like fixing to 1025 and 554, which advance) but when I check the port using canyouseeme.org or RCMP the port is classified as closed or camouflaged.

  I am able to view the cam of my office at rtsp://camname:554 / xxxxx using Quicktime or Realplayer.  However, neither my phone nore my friends can connect.

  My question, since I can see the flow of mobile streaming outside my local network using Realplayer or Quicktime, is "am I configured correctly for mobile (rtsp) streaming?  What is a cell phone rather than a problem of configuration problem?

  Sorry for the post above, I confirmed that my cam is correctly mobile video streaming.  The video stream has been consulted using a Samsung Omnia and Blackberry Curve.

  I am now home and confirms that, even if I've implemented port 5000 port forwarding, this port is listed as closed via canyouseeme.org.  The power supply works well, so I'm happy.
