  I saw the WWAN capable and WWAN ready in the lenovo site that confuses me. Somone please clarify what means WWAN Capable/Ready? I saw messages saying that someone machines must be opened up to install 3 G :-( It is also my first ThinkPad. What will be the first resource that I use to get running on the machine when I receive?

  Hello sabbas and welcome to the community.

  Your laptop is capable as you need to get the 3 G WWAN module install from the service center and you can access the Internet from the SIM card.

• My Netbook Mini has the WWAN capability?

  I have a HP Mini 110-3130 NR Windows 7, 1 GB

  My daughter is in the Corp of peace in South Africa and only has a cell phone connectivity.

  This particular Mini will allow Internet, using a cellular connection. There is no Wifi available.

  If so, how? Is there something that plugs into the USB port, a card or what?

  A laptop needs more of a slot for sim card.

  I bet you that the laptop of the OP has a sim card slot.

  What it doesn't have, is a WWAN card, nor the antennas that the WWAN card has need to get good reception.

  Without a WWAN card and WWAN antenna, the SIM card slot is useless.

  You can add an mSATA SSD of desired capability, and it will be displayed in Windows as another drive.

  L520 was the first to have mSATA capable slot, the slot L512 mPCIe is for the WWAN card.

  • Lenovo and ask. Sometimes sellers you can get things that are not in the online store.
  • Choose a standard personal systems reference model and are looking for a supplier with it in stock.

  According to QuickSpecs HP Mobile Broadband modules, only HP un2420 capable with 8540w.

  But if we will check drivers for laptop mentioned, we can see thaths2340/hs2350 drivers also available.

  un2420 in HSPA: 7.2 Mbps (download), 5.76 Mbps (Upload)

  hs2340/hs2350 is the best choice because: HSPA: 21 Mbps (download), 5.76 Mbps (download)

  You can buy a map in the maintenance manual and it must have the HP part # on it or it won't work.

  where are you looking for mobile shopping? Look at this page and you will find an example of x 230 configuration with or without built-in 3 g and even the modem LTE (Yes, for the United States only).

  My skills and supervision tell me any new generation of ThinkPad (x 230 including) are wwan ready i.e. resume adapter card wwan antenna kit and sim (of course, if they have free mini pci-e slot). But the statement - "WWAN ready" or 'WWAN Option' - is now missing in the description of the laptop on the Lenovo support site as we have seen earlier. And you can adapt wwan card yourself later.

  Also, look at the options to display Type on the page of my link above. You see that all screens are made up of antennae kits, i.e.laptop is ready wwan in all cases.

  In order to use more than 4 GB of RAM, three components must support
  -chipset
  -64-bit operating system
  -BIOS

  As far as I know some of the M750 supports the Chipset Mobile Intel GM45 Express.
  This chipset is capable of 8 GB it should be able to use 8 GB of RAM.
  In this case, I think the BIOS would not recognize also 8 GB of RAM.

  You can install any OS. You can use Win 7 64 bit and I don't see any reasons why it does not work

  I m not an expert, but you can use the SIM card in each location that is designed for SIM cards so I'm pretty sure it will work.

  I'm not sure, but normally you should get a driver disk or something else with the stick. Check and install the software on the drive.

• How can I connect 7.1 speakers to a s5xt ("speakers 7.1 capable" when he has only 3 audio ports?)

  I chose the s5 of HP on the competition series because it was clearly labelled on the site that the s5z and s5xt are capable of 7.1.  However, when receiving it, I find that it has 3 rear audio ports.  I can't easily connect on that until the cable is too short, but that should be the same as green on the back anyway.  Why do we say for the sound card 7.1 when there seems not to be 7.1?
