• S - log2 *.mp4 transcoded to Prores mov becomes underexposed

  Hello

  I recently shot back footage on profile PP7 (S-Log2) on the A7S2.

  The *.mp4 file seems properly exposed, however when I transcode the file to Prores422 HQ in catalyst prepare files become very underexposed. It does occur with images shot in S-Log2 my other images shot in profile that PP2 daytime shows no offset exposure.

  I experimented by selecting Rec709 vs S-Log2 as the color space of output, but there is no difference.

  VIDEO

  Codec - Long STROKE

  Profile and level - [email protected]

  Sampling YCbCr 4:2:0 8 bit color

  Thank you for providing the images! I think I've identified the problem. The issue seems to occur because of the ISO setting max to catalyst to prepare ISO 10000. It seems that both provided clips go much higher than that. One is 20000, and the other is 25600. Because the preparation is not able to match a high ISO setting, it is failing to 800 and appearing so much darker. If you increase the ISO bar up to 10000, it will start more correspond to the original item. You can then use the tone curve to trigger even more exposure to the best match to the original.

  In the meantime, I'll check with our engineers to see what we can do to solve this problem.

  Should I wait for this update? I just noticed there is not since August 2013 and some new HD cam, hybrid DSLR use this new codec.

  so it would be great not to forget the CS6 users, upgrade to CC is not a solution for me, I would prefer to swith to FCP X cc.

  I have Sony FDR-AX100 where pulling 4K video in Sony XVAC S codec, and I have two Adobe Premiere Pro CC and CS6.  Don't have import problems, reading or editing images in this format.  XVAC S is really simply a high-level h.264 format. I use these two programs on one end of 2013 Mac Pro with 64 GB RAM and 12 hearts 10.9.3 OS.

• XAVC exports a drop frames

  I'm working on some effects Visual of low-medium for local production; their post workflow is all 4 k (shot on red, edited on the body). They send me trimmed body seq, I bounce AE individual plans to help replace w / function AE Comp, work on them, making the shots on and send things finished to the customer. I was export XAVC. MXFs by SOUL (XAVC Intra 4 class k 480 3840 x 2160), but I found that part to make short shots 1 framework. The source parameters and output are the two 23.976 progressive, is not a question of DF/NDF. The length of the comp, ins and outs in AE are certainly all very well. Made out in a different codec (Animation of QT or DPX, for example) works perfectly well. Add a frame at the end of my comps does not seem to do the trick, either, for some reason any. Any suggestions?

  If no one can help to solve the problem, anyone have any suggestions for other codecs? Specifically, the colorist asked that I DIDN'T send the Animation of QT files; The DPX files end up being HUGE... ~ 170 clocks in frames to slightly more than 5 GB. Everything must always go to the color, so I need something that is the highest possible quality. ProRes is out. DNxHR is still a few months away. They prefer the stand-alone files, instead of image sequences (although, ' eff right em has, if necessary.) Process a seq image isn't exactly a big deal...).

  Ideally, I would like to just get this XAVC thing sorted, however.

  I'm not in the team of the SOUL, so I can't comment on when their bugs could be addressed. If I read correctly this recording of bug, however, it seems that this might be a limitation of XAVC not dealing with odd numbers of frames.

• How to keep the transitions of the Apple Photo Jpeg codec

  I made a slideshow a few years ago using iPhoto and exported in the form of film. It uses transitions strongly, especially of crossfades. Now when I try to upload it to a site like vimeo, the video must be converted using a standard codec such as H.264. Once converted, all transitions are lost to the gross final video in comparison.

  Is it possible to convert this video and preserve transitions?

  Hi guys,.

  last week, we had a few images with our new F5. We recorded in the XAVC format both in IMX50.

  Wanting to scan on our AVID MC6.5 it the clips IMX50 did well, but the XAVC clips were not recognized, even if it has been installed the new plugin PDZK-MA2.

  I tried several options:

  -Link WADA: clip appeared in my sandbox, but clicking on it gave due to error in the Viewer: CORE_CONSISTENCY_CHECK_FAILURE and SWDecodeCvtr::ExecuteRequest() CONSISTENCY CHECK FAILED.

  -Clip import: I imagine that only the WADA is possible for XAVC binding, but I tried to import and got following error: Exception: MXFImport: unrecognized XDCAM - resolution.

  I tried several settings of project: 1080i/50, 1080 p/25, 720 p/25, but all with the same results.

  Additional information:

  Workstation: HP Z400_V2, Windows 7 Service Pack 1

  What is HD or 4K XAVC? The 4K is not currently supported. Avid does not have any native 4 k. We are able to work with 4 k Raw, because with the help of our first AMA Avid plugin does an extraction k 2 k or 1 as soon as the files are linked, without having to first decode each clip in its entirety. We cannot do this with Avid codec files will first have to decode all the videos that would be cripplingly time CPU. We recommend that you use daily Express or Resolve or another compatible system daily to create DNX files for editorial for 4K XAVC.

  If it is HD XAVC, can you confirm that you are using Media Composer/Symphony 6 or 6.5 with MA2 v 2.31 installed? If so, post the link of the AMA you see at least the first image to drop you the clip in the source monitor Panel? The error seems to or otherwise related to the system memory. If you quit / relaunch Avid this will release any Avid system memory could not have released other recent operations. You can try this?

  You are right in that the XAVC clips must be bound to the WADA. XDCAM 50 can be linked to the WADA or file--> imported according to the needs...

  If none of the above brand success please let us know how much RAM you have on the system and format/pace of the clips you are trying from the WADA.

  Is there a plugin XAVC/XAVC-S for first Pro CC, so that when I import files from my Sony a7s and I create a new sequence "clip" my calendar are not yellow or green?

  I use the first of 12 elements. I have a video input which, according to MediaTab, has a width and a height of 1280 x 720 pixels. I would like to go out in these same dimensions. All I'm doing is important in a session of ss12 whose parameters are 1280 x 720 and then seeking to publish as AVI. But for some reason, the AVI output by default, 720 x 480, and the controls are grayed out so I can't change. How can I output in AVI 1280 x 720? TIA.

  Since you are looking for an intermediate for your export format, please review the file Lagarith.avi of 1280 x 720 for your exports.

  If you do not have the Lagarith Lossless Codec installed, you can get one for free online. Once it is installed, it is found under avancΘs AVI codecs. Click on the channel box video width & height to get rid of the channel to allow you to type in 1280 x 720 and then set the video properties as shown in the screenshot.

  Hello

  Someone knows how it is to import (with additional/codec plugin), the new Sony XAVC S in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5?

  I read something on this forum about mainconcept.com (Totalcode for Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 and CS6) and cost €279,00, anyone experince experience with them? and it's a program set the codec inside first rather than convert them all first and then you can import it into first?

  I'm using CS5 PP and find that you can import THAT XAVC S 4 k without a plugin or the need to convert files.  Use import for Red R3D - HD 4 k which has a resolution of 3840 x 2160.  The camera I use is a Sony FDR AX100

  I imported a few sequences (encapsulated in Mxf) xavc test and everything

  looks great, I can grade and add some effects.

  However, when I try to export the project things are a little creepy. AE using make and SOUL made the most obvious format is AVI. But what I would like to export the images in the same format, that it came as.

  Is this possible?

  I think you can export in H.264, but I prefer not to use that.

  In my view, the solution is a custom preset, but I don't know which codecs supported.

  Is there documentation anywhere that gives a detailed explanation how to handle 4 k?

  There is no preset for XAVC. To access XAVC, open the export settings and choose the Format MXF OP1a. You will then have a variety of options of XAVC codec under the video tab.

• First Pro CC in favor XAVC S from Sony (not XAVC)

  I noticed that asked at various locations however no one not of Adobe has addressed the issue, so the result is a lot of speculation from other users.  Someone from Adobe please tell us whether it is intended to support codec XACV S from Sony in first Pro CC and if so, when we can expect to see this added support.  Sony had a couple of really great camera 4 k available for some time now however if he won't be supported of the codec it is really unnecessary to buy a.  I really want to start my workflow to support 4K setting but I can't really begin to do this without knowing if or when Adobe will support XAVC S.  A response from someone at Adobe would be greatly appreciated, or if other users have an info, I'll take what I can get.  Thank you!

  I see other posts that the XAVC codec is supported by first Pro CC. This mean that my version of CS6, bought last month, will not see XAVC and won't?

  Premiere Pro CS6 will not natively support XAVC, this was added in CC. I believe that some third-party plugins as Rovi Code Total can offer this for CS6.
