XML Signature

Hello
I can sign the document xml with this lib http://docs.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/security/xmldsig/XMLDigitalSignature.html;

But how can I sign the other type files (example .doc, .pdf or more) and xml file

I can convert these files in bytes strign and I create an xml doc and add this byte string to xml format, it is possible and is signed with success, but when this type of files (docx, pdf) more 6 MB then error has occurred; Apart exceptions of memory;
Do you have another idea sign doc. PDF file with xml dig sign

Thank you

You can't sign anything except an XML file with an XML digital signature, at least not with the standard Java API.

If you need more memory to convert to XML, get more memory or smaller files, or perform the conversion in a separate JVM.

  • XML Signature with form with barcode

I have a form that has a number of fields that must be filled. When finished, the user should sign the form digitally (with certificate). However, due to legal requirements, the form must then be printed and mailed to the organization. Is it possible to encode the signature data in the barcode (PDF417) so it can be validated?

After you find the sign function and play with the resulting XML Signature, I found that it's just too much data to put in a bar code, even a 2D one.

As far as I know when a cert is used to sign a piece of data the cert inserts a URL in the CSF so I manually decoded the <-byte array > in the XMLSignatureVerifyResult and found that it includes a reference to a Revocation list to http://indc1digitalid-G3-CRL.VeriSign.com/IndC1DigitalID-G3.CRL ...

So I don't know why LiveCycle is not checking the CRL to see if the certificate is valid. Any help would be great.

In general when the signerStatus is UNKNOWN this is due to the fact that the certificate (public key) is not approved on the side of LiveCycle (trust store) for 'identity '.  In your case, you have a valid signature, which means that the data has not been modified, but LiveCycle only not know\trust 'who' is the signatory.

A copy of the certificate root VeriSign (public key) and import it into the Bank of trust ADEP\LiveCycle "certificates" section.

The element is the action that created an XML Signature.  While the designer only exposes him inside a shipment, you can place it under the heading other events as well.  In this example, a click event will sign place the XML Signature under xfa.datasets.data.signatures:

  • Digital signature of an Office Word .doc

    Hello

    I wan't to sign a word doc.
I have two options (or more...):

    (1) read the document with the help of"org.apache.poi" sign and then I like.
    (2) use the built in features of Word.

Is anyone know what algorithms are used in option 2)?
    is 2) crypto wise?
    What is the best approach?
    are there other approaches?

    Thank you.

I do not use Microsoft Office (don't know why someone would when OpenOffice does everything that 98% of the cares of the world all in a word processor, free of charge, on multiple platforms), so I can't speak for how it digitally signs documents internally.

The benefits of working with the Word-specific signature feature is that the document can be stored/retrieved as a regular Word document, and also long the extractor use a compatible version of the word processor, they will be able to verify the signature inside the word; without special tools. As all MS products tend to use the keystore CAPI/CNG in the Windows operating system, all the key-points forts/algorithms available in a Windows version should be available within Word for the signature feature.

However, if you need to send the signed document to anyone on a non-Windows platform, or have the signed document verified on incompatible Word versions, you cannot use the features of signature specific to Word.

What you should use is XMLSignature (http://www.w3.org/TR/xmldsig-core/).

XMLSignature will let you take any document - binary or text - digitally sign and send the XML document from any application or platform where a XMLSignature library is available and post the document. You can do it from the command line, GUI or middle of the jet within a business process. You have not even need to open the document processor to validate his signature; You can validate the XML signature while dealing with the XML stream.

XMLSignature is supported on all major operating systems as open source. It is also a standard component of Windows. It is available in JDK6 as a standard component, and is also the native in OpenOffice signature mechanism - which means that OO-signed documents can be signed on Windows, Linux, OS X, or UNIX and verified on Windows, Linux, OS X, or UNIX right in OpenOffice or using libraries of XMLSignature.

  • IPS Tuning - example Windows SMTP overflow 5561

I sent recently a few IPS sensors. The sensor alarmed on GIS 5561/0 (Windows SMTP overflow).

    http://Tools.Cisco.com/Security/Center/viewIpsSignature.x?signatureId=5561&signatureSubId=0&softwareVersion=6.0&releaseVersion=S339

From the link, the signature has been updated in June 2008. The AEC is dated 2004, and Microsoft has released patches in 2004. Why Cisco updates the signatures for old vulnerabilities in 4 years?

This last version/update is a new vulnerability?

It was not a new vulnerability. Signature update published in S339 coincides with the release of engine E2. 5561 0 is a signature of meta-engine and the "update" that has been done to the S339 went out to explicitly assign a flag "all required components.

Any change that modifies the XML signature causes a review/implementation to date.

    Hope that helps.

    Hello

I am Consultant technical Oracle Apps HRMS.

I wanted to know, if we can make Digital Signatures in the reports XML for HRMS application of Oracle 11i applications.

If so, what is the approach to do so.

    Your prompt response is appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Hi Patrice,

The BI Publisher standard part of EBS applications.

Most of the EBS reports (R12) rely on BI Publisher.

If you check the 'XML Publisher Administrator' responsibility, you can see all the models used in the application.

Your technical team should already know this.

On the other hand OBIEE need separate licenses.

But for you would be BI Publisher.

  • Digital signatures for export as ns dataNode in my XML file

I created a simple form and need to copile responses as they are returned.  I was able to set up and it works perfectly except the fields of electronic signature.  There are two signature fields.  There are two signature fields.  When I export the files as
XML and open it in Excel, there are three files for each file.  The signature field is called ' ns1: dataNode. two of the recordings, the column reads "dataGroup"; the third is empty.  I am currently using LiveCycle Designer ES2 and Acrobat X Pro.  What I would like in my Excel file is an indicator of whether or not it is an electronic signature that is present in each of these fields of two signatures.  Can anyone help?

    Thank you

    Gloria Diaz

    Gloria

Unlike the fields of capture of data, such as text fields, checkboxes, Signature fields and numeric fields don't support "data binding".  This means that when the data is exported, the contents of the signature field (the signature itself) is not included in the XML data.

If you want some pointers in your data that a signature was applied, you could write some JavaScript that is executed on the event 'Post sign' Signature field.  This script could set a value in a field (this field can be hidden), and then in the data, you can check the value of self-esteem if the signature field had been signed.

  • Check the XML writer, how to work with signature

We intend to use the recorder XML record for our paycheck, we have a USB attached to a HP 4510 with signature bmp on it. Could you help me understand how the XML report can talk to the printer to print the signature on the right place. I did a lot of reading and learned something about GhostScript, pilot pasta and so on. But I feel little difficult to understand how all these components work together.

I used to work on a project that allows to print on a printer PCL writer check rdf, it was easy to use PCL to tell the printer how to print the signature, but as the output of the XML check PDF writer, I'm really lost how to do this.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    -Bill

    Bill,

XMLP does not produce the PCL output you have to shoot a .bmp of signature of a SIMM card or a USB drive connected to a printer, the output is just in PDF format. You can work around this by mapping a USB (plugged into a PC of the Department of the AP, let's say the Manager) to a specific URL, then coding your model to get the signature of this URL. If USB is not inserted into the PC at the time where controls are formatted, the signature could not be found and the model can be made to show a stamp "NULL" instead. The basic approach is detailed on the blog of Tim Dexter, [http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/2007/11/hard_check_print_security_alte.html].

Another option is Evergreen, a solution of the third party who will transform the PDF to PCL and pull off your printer signature (like you had before). [http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/2007/11/hard_check_printing.html]

A final option is to just the signature on the server in the directory $OA_MEDIA. A couple of my former clients who asked for the security of USB/SIMM card eventually just go with this approach, because it was more simple and secure enough for their needs.

    Hope that helps,
    Glen
