I can't change the same Bing search bar after the removal of Bing!
I would like to change the default Google search engine. I put Google on the top of the search engine list, but every time I close FireFox and reopen Bing is located in the search bar! I even deleted Bing in the list of search engine to manage, and even after closing and re-opening FireFox sits is Bing. Very frustrating! I love the browser but I'll change if I can't get this straightened out. I completed all the steps to make Google default, but somehow Bing is always in the search bar when you restart FireFox.

How can I remove the pop ups that keep appearing on different sites?
For the last week or so when you go to a multitude of sites, I get unwanted ads of all kinds. They include windows pop up when you go to a site, open a new tab by clicking somewhere on a web page and the links blue underlined appearing on words randomly. How can I get rid of this, because it is annoying and seems to slow Firefox?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

Computer is a 12, xps dell dimension 8800.Tried using disk cleanup and Defrag on the computer, but it could not remove a large number of temporary files. Still can not re - install the avast antivirus that was installed previously, done updates also.
I suggest before you do anything. Type MSCONFIG in run in the start menu. Click the Startup tab, and then tap off everything. Restart the computer.
You can clean your temporary files and other unnecessary files with CCleaner.
http://www.Piriform.com/ccleaner/downloadIf request you something to keep on the first run saved passwords from your browser then press no. On the first screen, click on run cleaner on the bottom right.
If you believe in the detectability of Avast, you can try to install again. Or you can download and install the virus Kaspersky 2011 removal tool.

And spyware, you can install Spybot Search and destroy.
