XP pro and questions conectivity PLC

Hi, we have small groups of installation work at home with a mixture of XP Home, XP pro SP3 and VISTA SP2 machines. There is a machine connects to the router via a SiteCom PLC (powerline LN-510). The problem is on the PLC link.

Originally, this machine ran XP home and we cannot remember there being connectivity problems (connection speed varies sometimes but he always worked) we had to reinstall the machine rather then put home XP and add service packs, we have installed XP Pro SP3. Now the machine often fails to connect to the internet or other computers on the network. We noticed that Skype will connect, at least the user on this computer also appears online. I think there is a problem with TCP/IP because I think that Skype uses UDP? to connect.

The utility this Sitecom PLC units are talking to each other. IPconfog shows that the machine asked and received an IP address. I also tried to use a fixed IP address.

Is there something that can be configured on XP pro that we didn't need to configure on XP home?
Thank you very much!

Hello

Powerline units use the encryption and need to open special ports

Check the firewall and make sure it does not block traffic and the ports that are required for using Skye or similar requests are transmitted correctly.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 - Macbook Pro and Macbook Air does not print

    Products:

    • HP Officejet Pro 8600
    • MacBook Pro (Mac OS X, Version 10.7.5)
    • MacBook Air (OS X, Version 10.8.2)

    Question:

    • Why my Mac initially print fine, but now will not print?

    Full article:

I have a wireless network in my house that consisted of a 30 MB cable internet, Netgear 900n, HP Officejet Pro 8600, 2 laptops from Dell with Windows 7, a laptop Lenovo with Windows 7 and Dell with Windows 7 trick, all printed matter very well.

The HP Officejet 8600 was added to my network about 2 months ago.

I added a Macbook Pro and Macbook Air about 3 weeks ago.  The two Macs printed fine for about a week.  Then suddenly they stop.  I spent about 2 hours on the phone with HP's Service, and finally, they said to my router.  So I called Netgear.  NETGEAR was useless!  They wanted me to accept fees for services before they would even discuss the issue.

As a result of information provided by the HP support service, and because Netgear will not support their product, I quickly bought a new router - an Apple Airport Extreme.

Macs will recognize the printer will print if connected via a USB cable, but do not print wirelessly on the Officejet Pro 8600.  The fine impression CPA.

The frustration that is felt is made up by the fact that Macs printed very well with the Officejet Pro 8600 2 weeks and now the printer shows just "idle"... even with a new router. (see image below)

Please help, thank you very much for all support.

As a side note, the representative of the HP Service was very friendly and definitely tried to support the HP product, which is much more I can say about Netgear.

    Thank you

    Hello

More likely a problem with Multicast, which Apple devices are relies on to communicate with the device through the network.

First try unplugging the router for 30 seconds.

Connect to the power supply and wait 2-3 minutes.

Turn off the HP printer and turn it back on, then check all difference.

If it persists, try to change the configuration of your router as follows

Note: the settings below are not related with the HP product, I provide you with the steps as a best efforts and those based only on my own knowledge. You can try to change the settings of the router at your own risk:

    1. Open the router configuration page (you'll find listed as the default gateway by clicking the icon on the printer wireless, then print a network configuration report.
    2. Click the Advanced tab.
    3. Click the configuration option in the menu, and then click Setup WAN.
    4. Be sure to uncheck the box Disable IGMP proxy transmission and apply the changes.
    5. Click on the LAN configuration on the same Setup menu.
    6. Set the RIP RIP-2 Version and apply the changes.
    7. Restart your router and then check any change.

I hope that you will find useful information, you can also use the guide to the user below for more information:

  • How to create a DVD with DVD Studio Pro and an external DVD burner?

    Hello

I am trying to create a DVD with DVD Studio Pro. My internal DVD drive no longer works. I have an external DVD burner - slim portable DVD writer. I create the project into DVD Studio Pro, and when in the program, it works fine when I "stimulate". Well, I can't burn it.  When I look for the external DVD writer in my finder, it is not and I don't know how or where to select the option so it is programmed to burn the external DVD writer. Any advice? Thank you have a great week.

I found a thread that has addressed this issue, but does not help me to solve my problem. Meg the dog was told this to her in question written by Scott Stark. I tried his solution of generation and format, but after pressing the burn a window appears saying "insert disc please insert acceptable DVD recordable media."  I tried to use another blank DVD, it did not help. I use Word for Word, I heard that those who are the best blank DVDs, you can buy. Thanks again for your time!

  • Acer Aspire its problems after Win 7 Pro and the new installed HARD drive

I have an acer aspire 8735 laptop g-6502 which has recently undergone a WD 500 GB drive HARD failure. I replaced that with a 7200 RPM Hitachi 1 TB drive and given that I don't have a Win 7 original used a disk Win 7 Pro with an extra friend.

Windows 7 Pro and HARD disk installation went smooth. But now when I plug an HDMI cable to watch through my Marantz receiver, comes from the video, but I have to do manually the Marantz the default audio device for sound. When I unplug the HDMI, I must return to the parameters of sound and unenable Marantz and re - activate the Realtek audio.

Before the drive died HARD, happen all perfectly when you plug the HDMI cable in and the fact to disconnect without any fiddling around with settings.

I also have a few other questions:
    1. the touch volume control next to the numeric keypad does not control the volume more
    2. the keyboard key used to have a setting to display it. You can use two fingers on a tablet to drag the image to the screen bigger and smaller.

I looked the site of Acer and also used my drive Application and drivers to reinstall everything that looked related to these issues. When first, I installed Win 7 Pro I let Windows find the appropriate drivers. It worked for some things but not others.

Any ideas? I have a few scratches on my face and my forehead in frustration pain making me beat me here. Funny, but true, so all ideas are appreciated!

Here's my screen design Mgr impression - there's an 'unknown' device IDK how to understand what it is.

  • My Mac Pro and HP Deskjet 3070 PowerBook does not connect via a wireless network from dorm

Both my laptop and printer (an all-in-one) are connected to the same wireless network dorm, but they do not connect on it.  They connect only wire using a USB cable.

I have for the MacBook Pro and the Deskjet printer IP addresses but no way to use to establish a connection.  I don't have access to the network router.  When I test the connectivity, the software tells me, "too many networks."  He can't make a choice!

Interestingly, I have my MacBook Air along this journey, too, and the two MacBook have no problem of communication on the same network of dorm.

Is it possible to plug these devices such as computers connect or should I remain attached to the USB cable to use my new printer?  I guess you know how I feel about this.  Thanks for your advice.

You are right.  There is no way to bypass security protected by password and thus to connect a Mac to a Deskjet 3070 via a secure network without access to a router, and a password.  However, even without access to a network or a router, there is a workaround solution.  In my case, where the technical ability to correctly configure the router and the printer is beyond the understanding of the management of the dormitory, qualified through the difference to happen anytime soon, it is the answer I need.

The solution is to build your own Mac + network printer and make it private, protect it against unwanted entry.  This offer you little mobility in the area of the printer, which is much better than nothing.  A sofa can be more conducive to creative thinking as an Office Chair.  The unconventional twist that Johnny introduced the user, the printer that generates the sender-recipient, not the Mac network.  Very smart.

I refer you to the thread,

"Deskjet 3070 cannot connect to the ad - hoc network (Mac)"

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/printer-networking-and-wireless/DeskJet-3070A-cant-connect-to-ad-hoc-network/m-p/1446819#M38598

Then the only question is to know how to connect your Mac on the Deskjet 3070 printer via the generic (as he calls it, "ad hoc") network created by the Deskjet printer.  The Mac has abundant features for this purpose.

Thanks for the categorical assertion, however.  No sense to break down the walls looking for a nonexistent hidden tunnel...!

If what you bought is an OEM System Builder Windows 10 Pro license, then you can indeed buy Windows 7 Professional.

Because Windows 7 is in limited stock because Microsoft ended sales in October 2013, this created demand due to its rarity. This means the retail boxed copies request a bonus, while the OEM System Builder copies remain affordable.

    OEM System Builder version:

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

There is nothing wrong to use it too, especially that all future versions of Windows will be full versions.

You can find software OEM System Builder of dozens of online merchants. The current price for OEM Windows 7 Professional Newegg, for example, is $ 140. When I checked a few minutes ago, Amazon offered packages OEM Windows 7 Professional from several vendors at prices ranging from $ 101 to $ 150. When I checked earlier, a package specifically designed for reconditioned PCs cost only $ 50 for a 64-bit copy.

There is no technical limitation to prevent you from using OEM software on your computer, although this software only works for a clean install, not an upgrade. In the past, Microsoft has been remarkably inconsistent in his advice to clients on the question of whether this practice is allowed. (See "is allowed to use Windows OEM on your own PC? • vFoglight, vOptimizer Pro and Pro bundle connection vRanger Pro

As part of a new version of the virtual environment we planned to buy the Pro Bundle vEssentials (including vRanger Pro connection, vOptimizer Pro and Pro vFoglight).

My question has to do with where they can be installed. We get three, brand new, host servers Dell PowerEdge R710 (48 GB of RAM, dual Xeon E5620, etc.), a single EqualLogic SAN (started by) and new switches HP ProCurve (config which is yet to be finalised). I'd love to be able to install software VizionCore on VM (link to a SQL 2005 VM server for the databases), but the system requirements I've read that it sounds like you need to use a physical hardware. We don't talk a great environment here (30-50 VM of current growth, possible more of course). We get the 8 taking VMware Enterprise Plus beam and vCenter Server standard. This means that we will be able to apply the license to a host of the fourth at any time that we see the need (would be an another R710 either identical to what we get as close as we can get).

With all the power in the servers three hosts and the low (relatively) County VM, is there no real reason why we could not install the VizionCore on VM products? A virtual machine by product, or two on a single server and the third on his own or all three on a virtual machine... I could easily allocate four vCPU virtual machine and enough RAM (the advantage of having 48GB per host). I plan use DRS, so the virtual machine will be able to float between hosts as settings dictate. We are a partner of VMware first implementation of this project (I'll do a good part of the generation upwards before arriving at better use of their time), who are very familiar with the product (their recommendation is the reason why we intend to use it).

So with the basin of DRS of 57.6 GHz (56xx series Xeons) and 144 GB of RAM to share, which will be more than enough? Maybe with the next version of VMware FT they bear more than a simple vCPU so we could use it for the virtual machine. Storage is not a problem, since we have more than 5 TB LUN (even after losing for RAID 50 and instant EQL).

We are also looking to be able to check in to one of these system libraries at the place where I work. Is there something special I need to know in order to get to the operation too? I'm looking to have multiple levels of redundancy in our backup and restore process. I'm not comfortable with only having one or even two. I wish that the final level will be backups on tape that we can even send off site. Basically, going to the EQL snapshots serve daily (at least) keep 2 weeks. VRanger Pro of the connection will happen its backups as well, keep enough to restore back to at least two weeks later (or a month). If anyone needs a restore over a month back, we will be able to pull in back via the tape backup. Keep backups on tape for at least one year, with more to be the target. I realize that it is perhaps an exaggeration, but if I can provide a fast food of a file deleted, or bad VM, which would have otherwise been lost (which look us bad for customers and possible cost the company money) it will be all worth it. Depending on the amount of space used, I could even extend the clichés to the retention of 1 month, vRanger pro 3 to 6 month of connection and then perform backups on monthly bandwidth (although I still prefer to have fewer differences between the bands).

I am interested in any suggestions...

Yes, you can do it. As long as you do not use a SAN backup (with a virtual machine for vRanger of connection, you must make backups of direct-to-target on LAN - that is to say you can't 'virtualize' on a network SAN or iSCSI HBA connection). If you make the LAN-based backups (which should be more than sufficient, given the size of the environment that you're talking about), vRanger connection will work quite happily on a virtual machine. vFoglight is a different animal, however, which work like on a physical machine. However, it can be installed on a virtual machine as well. Keep in mind that vFoglight is resource hungry, so to minimize the impact this will have on the rest of your virtual machine environment, you can 'compartmentalize' as much as you could: ESX host resources (and make sure that the proposed Console of Service optimizations are in place.
I can't speak to taking snapshots Equalogic, but if it puts the snapshot files in the virtual machine file systems, this could be problematic. Instead of using snapshots (of any type) as a form of backup (they are really not meant for that), instead, consider using your backup file/archive level restores to restore files/folders quickly without restoring a whole VM. It is my experience that these shots fouillisent the VMFS and cause problems during backup and restore. There is really a snapshot as temporary "fallback" point, as for example, when you install a hotfix. You turn on the server, install the hotfix. If the virtual machine comes back OK, remove the snapshot in a short period of time. Remember that snapshots are NOT "copies" of the virtual machine. These are files that track changes to flat files VMs. When you create they are small. Over time, they may reach huge proportions and really make life miserable for the admin. VM...

Thanks for posting the request in Microsoft Community Forums.

It must be hard when things do not work as expected. We will analyze and identify the cause of the problem. Please answer a few questions to refine the question.

    1. What are the steps you tried to solve the problem?

    2. do you receive any error messages?

    3. What is the brand and model of the computer?

    4. deal with any issue when running Windows updates? You try to upgrade to Windows 8.1?

5 is this problem specific to any application or applications behave the same way? What happens when you open the store?

It is recommended to ensure that Windows Update works correctly so that the operating system is functioning normally.

This problem normally occurs when there is some incorrect settings in applications. You can follow the procedure described here and check the results.

  • Is Windows 8 Pro and Microsoft Office 2010 license Transferrable to new PC (during the withdrawal of the old PC)

    Hello

I had bought Windows 8 Pro as part of the upgrade offer in 2012.

My current desktop PC gives signs of imminent failure. So I intend to mount my own PC and all ignoring the old one.

My question is if I can transfer the current licence to the new office.

What is the procedure for the transfer of the Windows 8 Pro and Microsoft Office license to new PC?

    Thank you and best regards,

    UNNI

Yes, you can transfer the two as long as they are copies of the retail sale and do not come pre-installed on the machine.

To waive the license of the machine, you can just format the machine or uninstall the license of Windows 8.

To proceed to reinstall Windows 8 on the new computer and restart phone.

    Please note:

To install a Windows 8 upgrade version, you must already have Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP installed on your PC.

If you have formatted the drive until the upgrade of Windows 8 version has been installed, you will not be able to use your upgrade product key to activate Windows 8. To activate Windows 8, you will need to install your previous version of Windows, and then reinstall Windows 8. Help with the activation process, contact technical support.

You can reinstall of Office 2010 and also reactivate by phone:

  • Windows 8 pro upgrade - question about relocation

I am running Windows 8 (Standard Edition) - it came preinstalled on my computer, and thus the product key is stored on my BIOS.

I would like to be running Windows 8 Pro. However before I have to spend $200, I want to know exactly how the upgrade system - the rest of the internet is very clear on that. I have the following questions:

    (1) if I buy an upgrade Windows 8 Pro on the Microsoft Store (search > add features > purchase online product key), and then later I want to do a clean reinstall Windows pro 8, if I can install Windows 8 Pro or what I need to install Windows 8 and then go again?

    (2) if I have to upgrade again can I use the option 'I already have a product key' in 'Add features' and use the product key that I bought?

    (3) if I go out to a retailer and buy Windows 8 Pro and do a clean install, it will install in Windows 8 Pro or I have to use "add features"? If I have to use 'Add features', will be the product key that comes with my Windows 8 Pro that I bought work detailing if I select "I already have a product key?

    (4) if I want to upgrade to Windows Pro 8.1 in what order should I upgrade? Is - this Windows 8 > Windows 8 Pro > Windows 8.1 Pro or Windows 8 > 8.1 Windows > Windows Pro 8.1? (Please do not link me to the FAQ section, I've been there and that you can't find the answer. If you wish to make a reply in this section it otherwise I'll have to ask you to clarify rephrase please.)

    (5) is there a way I can save windows 8.1/Windows 8.1 Pro upgrade files so that I don't have to download again if I clean install my OS? If so, how do I.

    1. You need to install Windows 8 and upgrade to Pro again.
    2. Yes, you can of course. This code will work for you for ever. Just keep it somewhere safe (I keep all my OneNote product keys, but you can also store them as text files OneDrive or another course).
    3. The complete packaging product key will work as well.
    4. You cannot jump directly from Windows 8 > Windows Pro 8.1.  You would have either A) download the 8.1 update before you type the key Pro 8.1 or B) to obtain a Pro 8.0 and use it, then go to 8.1.
    5. There is really no files actually.  Each version of Windows has everything, the code is that it unlocks for use.  What is new, starting with Vista, this is why the "features add to Windows ' (formerly 'AnyTime Upgrade' is here.

But you could always take your computer, update / update to 8.1 Pro you have, then do a system image backup, so you can always go to immediately exactly hassle-free.  Bonus, this backup can even include all of your installed programs, settings and customization.

  • What would cause two-sided printing is not working properly in Acrobat Pro and InDesign?

I need help with a problem of double-sided printing that occurs only with a document created in InDesign, and then turned into a PDF Acrobat file. It is a simple single page 3, paper 8.5 x 11 with nothing weighs on the marges.5. I went to print it out on my Epson Stylus 7620 duplex, but it does not print correctly. It is printing page 1 on a single sheet of paper without even attempting to add the second page. Then it prints the third AND second double-sided pages. I looked to make sure that there is no box "print separate cover page" checked. I also made sure 'normal pages order' has been selected and not reversed. I checked to make sure that nothing was hanged on the page which may cause the printer to that there is an additional page between pages 1 and 2. I turned the document to Adobe PDF (for InDesign), but the PDF did the same thing. It prints 2-3 as a double-sided pages and page 1 on one page on a single sheet of paper. Obviously, I want 1-2 pages to print double-sided and 3 of the page into a single page. I called Epson, but they said that because other documents are printing correctly, it is not a printer problem, but Adobe software / printer box question, very probably in the InDesign document. The editor is sure that she has deleted the files in the window of Premiere project and not on the hard drive itself?
