Xperia Z2 e-mail client

I use the default email application to access my emails to Gmail (IMAP) and I find that when I delete e-mails via IMAP are remaining / reappear in the trash / Bin. Any ideas? Thank you very much.

Unfortunately I do not use stock email app, because it is a little unclear to me. But you are right, you have the local garbage and trash "imap". You can organize the way that messages are deleted, just go to Gmail on PC and you will find several options under settings /Forwarding and POP/IMAP.

PS: For the best experience I use Aquamail Pro app

I want to drop Fastmail as my e-mail client and would like to, if possible, just use Thunderbird. Is it possible and if yes, how can I configure Thunderbird for this?

Looks like they are an e-mail provider FastMail. Suppliers to deliver and operate e-mail accounts.
Thunderbird is a software email client. Client software runs on your computer to help you manage your e-mail.
    They are not interchangeable.
You can use Thunderbird to manage most of the e-mail accounts that you get from a vendor. Without a provider you have email.

  • Thunderbird is not my default mail client and should not be. Although I unchecked the box in the Sytem integration «Always check...» ', he persists in checking

even as I unchecked it in the integration of the system "always check to see if Thunderbird is the default e-mail at startup", I always get the message when I run Thunderbird. I could understand this behavior to commercial companies, but not to nonprofit organizations. In front of my desktop computer, I need to use another product for official couriers, but I like to use Thunderbird for checking private emails. I might have to choose a different e-mail client when I run the risk that, by default in Thunderbird, I could send business related emails on my private account.

  • I want that thunderbird to run in the background when I call the default mail client

I have a software which sends emails for reports. The software calls the default mail client (Thunderbird) and sends the e-mail. However, this open Thunderbird and gets in the way. Is there anyway this could send the email without opening Thunderbird? Can it run in the background like outlook express? It should be closed after the e-mail was sent.

    http://KB.mozillazine.org/Thunderbird_3.0_-_New_Features_and_Changes#Send_in_Background

Open Tools(or AppMenu/Options)/Options/Advanced/general/Config. Editor, paste mailnews.sendInBackground into the search box, and then double-click the preference to set it to true.

  • Migration of outlook for t-bird, try to import the mail, error "there is no default mail client... ", I confirmed that outlook is the default?

I'm migrating from Outlook to Thunderbird.

I bought a new computer with windows 8.

I copied the data from my old computer outlook file it new computer.

I installed Thunderbird on my new computer.

I'm trying to import existing emails stored in Outlook to Thunderbird.

I get the message "there are no default e-mail client... "I did Outlook as default e-mail client and restarting the computer.

Is it possible to get the thunderbird recognize the Outlook file?

    Tom

The automatic import program only works if you have TB and the former program installed on the same computer. If possible, I suggest to install TB on the old computer which currently has Outlook, run the auto import option and then transfer the profile of TB from the old computer to to on the new machine.

The method that I found which is the simplest and most reliable is to copy the folder Thunderbird of the old machine to the new one:

  • System default mail client (Thunderbird) does not appear in mailto applications.

I use Thunderbird as the application mailto in Firefox. The only options listed for mailto are GMail, Yahoo mail, always ask and choose application. Use default does not appear.

I solved this. By clicking on "other use" in applications of mailto, 'Cancel' when a window opens to select the application, and then clicking on one application other than mailto, and the e-mail client default system is selected. A user little seems hostile. I use Firefox 24 under Ubuntu 13.04 BTW.

It worked in Firefox 12, but with the last update for Firefox 13.x no mail client is started (mine is Thunderbird) what contextual menu item "send link...". "is clicked.

I tried this with all the addons disabled but the same problem occurs.

Does for you? If this is not the case, how can I solve it?

I reported a bug if others have this problem.

    Thank you.

I changed the setting Network.protocol - handler.external.mailto about: config at the default value (true) and that seemed to fix it.

  • Cannot set the default email in apple mail client

    Hi all

I have a rather unusual problem. I'm on El captain, and I have 16 Mac Office installed (Outlook).

When I go in my OS X mail client, and go to Preferences-> general-> default mail reader, it shows currently Outlook.

When I go ahead and select Mail and then close the window and then return the preferences window, it switches back to Outlook.

I can't set mail as my default mail client, which also live up to my sheet on part of Safari options (shows Outlook, no email).

Is there another way in the system to set my default mail client, which will remain?

I went the Outlook preferences, and there is no option to be found to set or no set Outlook as the default e-mail client. Strange.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    D

You can also set this option in Outlook preferences. Try here. I don't have the app to check where, but I think it is located on the general tab.

  • Can what iCloud password I use to configure my e-mail client?  I get an authentication error.

While trying to set up my email client (non-Apple) to receive and send an email to my iCloud account, I get an authentication error when using my AppleID password.

I tried to reset my AppleID password, but the password is always a failure when you try to configure my e-mail client.  I even called Apple Support today where they told me that the iCloud email password should be in sync with the AppleID password since the iCloud email is simply an alias for it.  After 25 minutes, they told me that I must use just the Apple Mail client instead.

I finally found the solution tonight when looking through the manage your site Apple ID.  You must create a password App specific to your e-mail client:

    1. go to https://appleid.apple.com/account/home
    2. Sign in with your ID AppleID and password
    3. Once the page is loaded, click on the link 'Edit' in the Security section
    4. You should now see a section for App specific passwords
    5. Click the "generate Password... »
    6. Enter a name (I used my name to email client - Unibox)
    7. Click on create

Apple will generate a password you will use when you set up your email client.  Use this new password instead of your AppleID password.

  • The value of 2016 Outlook as default e-mail client... Does not!

    Hi all

New user for os x here

Please can someone help me - I want to configure outlook 2016 as the default mail client, so that when I click a hyperlink for e-mail, the outlook client open, rather than the mail client.

I tried to go into the mail client and select Outlook as a client by default, but then when I close the window after you make the change, if I open it again, the new option is preselected in the 'mail '... So it is not confirming the change.

    Any ideas?

    Seriously frustrating!

    Thank you
    Alan.

Well, the mail is my default on my MBA, but I tested and found the same thing you did. But I found a work around that can work for you. In the letter the ability to switch the default email clients also has a last option: select. Choose who and when the file picker appears go to Outlook and select it. Close the preferences panel, then reopen it. Outlook needs to always be selected. At least it was for me. In fact, I had to do the same thing to get my default back to Mail.

  • Recommendations for third-party mail clients

I recently bought a new iMac.  The upgrade of the operating system between the new and the old is Snow Leopard 10.6.8 El Capitan 10.11.x.  The mail app gives me fits and after 4 days of trying to control it, I still can't depend on to act in a coherent way.  I need to get a more reliable e-mail client.

Does anyone have recommendations for a third-party messaging application?

    Thank you

    Claire

I used the e-mail because I bought an indigo iMac. No real issues with the exception of the years, when we had problems in recent months. IT seems to work well.

  • How can I tell the mail client to search for new mail on the server?

How can I tell the mail client to search for new mail on the server?

Within the Mail app and display the Inbox you can pull down on the list of e-mail using your finger and you should see a small reel spinning gear. Which indicates that his check new email.

You can also go into the settings of e-mail and calendars Contacts and view the settings there. Examine the settings of "search for new data. If the Push is enabled, then messages will be pushed to you if the email provider supports this feature. You can also set your accounts to use Fetch and set the frequency, he's going to go out and look for new e-mail messages.
