XPS 630i rehabilitation project - what can be done to modernize an old computer

7 years on a single computer without difficulty is pretty cool, but its slow significantly, can't do recent games, video stream teams all the time, move files and using video editing software is almost eternal.

The system is XPS 630i, CPU = QX6850, 3 GHz, 8 MB, CDKE, G0. RAM is 4 GB. video card is two cards of the crossfire Radeon 3800 series.  Vista Home premium 32-bit. storage is disk 920 GB internal and external two drives of 1 TB Buffalo (1 is the backup of the system)

(1) is there a CPU upgrade option?

(2) update of what graphics card?

(3) should move from Vista to another help system?

(4) is there an option to upgrade to RAM?

I can still a few years out of this system, with say, $500?

Thanks for the tips

Thank you Philip for your thoughts.

My 630i has 4 GB of RAM installed.  Dell said it's the max.  Evolution of operating systems that would change?

Change to a 64 bit OS you will allow more than 4 GB of RAM and Crucial says that the maximum is 8 GB address:

However DDR2 RAM has increased a lot in price recently and the $142 - $208 maybe not worth it. That money would be better spent on the Solid State Drive.
