XPS controller

Hello

I'm using LabView to program the controller XPS of Newport. This instrument has accompanied LabView drivers of Newport.

For the moment, I'm just trying to learn how to control a single-axis group, IE. a step only.

I am able to make the scene replaced by a controlled amount, but I can't do Labview hold where the scene is.

A guidance function is supposed to return the scene to a single reference station but when I use the driver "Group home search" she moves anywhere.

Maybe, I need to set a reference position? I don't see how to it with given drivers, the only other option would be for Labview itself to keep track of the scene.

Any help you could provide would be appreciated.

Matt

It would be useful that I attached it...

I have a XPS 400 desktop computer that runs currently the 10 Insider Preview Windows operating system and its video controller does not work and so he struggles to play YouTube videos and he is totally unable to play games should be able to play. I once had this computer to run an operating system called Linux Mint and the video controller worked fine until I put Windows 10 on it. In Device Manager the video controller appears under other devices with an exclamation point. I tried to have the search system automatically updates of pilot, but he can't find. In the past I thought that the video controller was that of an AMD processor, but I don't remember why. Recently I watched the original specifications and it comes with an NVIDIA GEFORCE 6800, so I'm not sure she has and this computer has done to my knowledge undergo updates before I owned it but I don't know if its video controller has been changed. Nevertheless, I tried to get help thinking it is an AMD but nothing helps and I tried to download the drivers from NVIDIA but it still does not work as there is very little information on the video controller. Does anyone know a way I could get the video controller to work?

    Hello

Maybe one of you can help me understand this problem:

I just did a new install of Windows 7 (64-bit, home premium) on my XPS 8300, given that I just put in a SSD and wanted to go back to zero with it. Everything went well, except for one thing: in Device Manager ethernet controller is complain he has not installed a driver... The chipset utility and all Dell for the XPS drivers are installed, however.

My system has no WIFI, so I'm stuck without network on this computer...

Does anyone have an idea to solve this problem?

    Try this

There is a direct link to the XPS 8300 LAN driver from the Dell site.  This pop on a USB stick and install on your xps 8300.

I also often used the utility to update the driver from the Intel site for my XPS 8300 (here downloadcenter.intel.com however, for analysis to be performed, you must of course a functional on the target system network connection.

  • WIRELESS / NETWORK CONTROLLER

My IdeaPad Y510 suddenly shows the dreaded BSOD yesterday and after frantic efforts to solve this problem, I had to reinstall XP Prof SP2 [slipstreamed or other normal XPs didn't work]. All my drivers seem to work fine except for the Wireless which is absent in the network connection. Control of Device Manager, it shows the yellow exclamation mark for NETWORK CONTROLLER, so I downloaded and tried to install the WiFi Link, but it does still not all of the work. So I can't navigate wireless... Unfortunately, it is only the service wireless at home and the office.

When I install the PRO/...wireless Manager, it displays No. Wireless Drivers. Please, I'd appreciate your urgent assistance.

  • Scenes of Newport XPS - Q8 House put at some point

    Hello

I have a question about the stages of Newport XPS - Q8.

I am writing a VI to control the step of Newport XPS - Q8 I have. I need help with two tasks I couldn't figure out how do it in the manual.

The first thing is I want to put the current position as 'home', so the vi can be considered an origin to analyze this. Of course, I wan to be able to change this 'home', each time I start the program.

The second part is I want to be able to scan from this original set, not only forwards but backwards. If you imagine the House is your home, I want to be able to move from-10 to 10 (for example) not only in one direction (it is what I am able to move now with the move 'relatively' setting)
Thank you very much for your answer

    Hi Laurawendy,

In the manual of Q8, see section 7.3, "referring to the State.

Once you have found "home mechanics" (switch/encoder cue), you can use the GroupReferencingAction "SetPosition" to resolve home mechanics at an arbitrary position.

The process requires the scene/controller to find home mechanical', after which you probaby want to move to the new '0' - so the scene will move around a lot and it may take a few seconds to complete the process.

I found that it was much faster and less disruptive to maintain compensation in software.  When the user clicks on "set the current location as home", save the current absolute position as the new offset.  After that, when the user makes an absolute movement, you calculate the destination (required position + offset).  When the user requests the current position, you report the current absolute position - offset.  If you are using a class or implementation of step functions FGV, the offset would then become a property managed by the class or FGV.

Relative to the subject is moving, I'm not sure I understand the question. In general, both positive and negative relative movements are allowed - assuming that the destination is within the physical limits of the movement.  If you are in an absolute position of 10 and want to move to-10, then the relative distance of move would be-20.

    I hope that helps!

  • Window vista xps 420 problem with USB ports.

I have problems with window vista dell xps 420 machine, all USB ports are not recognized, unless the computer is restarted or rebooted. anyone has a suggestion.

    Hi Miguelsmith,

    1. When did you start to question?

    2. you remember to make changes to the computer recently?

You can uninstall and reinstall all USB device manager entries and check if it helps.

    a. Click Start and typedevmgmt.msc and then click OK. Device Manager opens.

    b. expand Bus USB controllers.

Note: You will need to scroll down to find this point.

    c. the first USB controller under Bus USB controllers right click and then click on uninstall to remove it.

    d. Repeat steps above for each controller USB is listed under Bus USB controllers.

    e. restart the computer. After the computer starts, Windows will automatically check for changes on the hardware and reinstall all USB controllers that you uninstalled.

    f. check the USB device to see if it works

  • XPS 13 9350 - USB DAC - severely distorted Audio

    Hi all

I'm playing a DAC USB files DXD (352.8 kHz FLAC) and I'm getting intermittent severe distortions which, to me, looks like a problem of USB transmission caused by the DPC latency. My configuration is:

    -Earn 10 Pro
    -jRiver MC21
-Mojo chord connected via USB using rope ASIO driver 1.05
-Alternatively AudioQuest Dragonfly 2 (downsampling to 88.2 kHz samplerate)

I get distortion with the two DACS, which suggests a problem with the XPS 13 HW or SW. I disabled "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" for USB3 Intel eXtensible Host Controller and USB (xHCI) root hub, but that has not solved the problem.

Power management is set to high performance, under Advanced settings, I put USB selective suspend setting to disabled.

Check for latency DPC and latency LUNS do show any question and a list of the PC as being capable of streaming audio in real time.

The problem disappears if I chose in jRiver direct sound driver. It occurs the same if I chose the ASIO, the WASAPI and core drivers streaming.

The problem does not occur on a HP zbook 15u.

Someone else has a similar problem and no matter who solved?

I don't know if you've ever thought about it or went nuts perhaps, but I had the same problem and have found a workaround. I have a XPS15 9550 and had the same problem with the Mojo. I bypassed by disabling C-States (the processor sleep state) in the BIOS. This will reduce the battery life to a certain extent, but now the DAC works without a hitch.

  • XPS 8900 CPU cooler upgrade: a much quieter and cooler operation

I recently upgraded my GPU and noticed that my CPU fan was making more noise than I remembered - sort of a monotonous noise.  I checked my time CPU and discovered that, at idle, the CPU was struck 38 - 42 c.

I decided to upgrade my cooling.  The main limitation (also the fact that Dell has a non-standard configuration of CPU backplate) is that the somewhat narrow case on the 8900 XPS does not allow the installation of most of the coolers high performance cheap because they are too high by 1/2 "- 3/4".  Then I found the H7 Cyrorig, who owns three heat pipes, a huge radiator and 120mm fan in a package that is 'only' 145mm of height - just enough to fit in the short case.  I installed it yesterday and it works GREAT.  Very happy with it, at the beginning at least.

I also traded fan Sunon stock for a Cooler Master Blade Master 92 mm fan, which is quieter but similar specifications CFM.

Overall, the computer is now more quiet at 100% load, it was before idling.  And my time CPU dropped 15 ° C.  Great upgrade.  I made a video on how I did here:

    cs_setInnerHtml ('video_dfdd403e-b431-4f7a-983 b-7298e7b03226' ");

.. and here are some pictures:

    @JarrodSmith

You can always connect the suction fan using a molex 3 adapter PIN or similar. Do not use a PIN Y-splitter 3 with the stock exhaust fan unless you do not want the suction fan not to come to 100%. What I've done is moved the stock exhaust and done as a plug so that it is always connected to the motherboard fan PIN then placed a fan cfm 88 is monitored by a fan controller and powered by a molex 3 pin coming from the PSU adapter. I have also an another suction fan works 100%, which is also directly powered by the PSU. In this way, the jury is fooled to believe that he always have control over the exhaust, what she does not like the stock exhaust is now a fan of aspiration and since I placed a fan cfm upper aft setting of the new fan is more than the maximum power of the stock fan more I have the ability to crank it up to 88 ft3/min if I want it when room temperature of the room is on the hot side depending on the weather.

  • Card mother XPS 8300

    Hello

I think the motherboard in my XPS 8300 is trying to die, or at least give me a lot of trouble.

I get different blue screens lately, quite often (up to twice a day). Almost everytime, they were accompanied by sounds from my hard drive (for example, the disc to stop spinning, etc.). If naturally my first step was to get another hard drive and try to back up my data (thinking my hard drive was dying).

I tried with various programs of cloning (AOMEI Backupper, CloneZilla and so on) and they have all failed to clone the drive (usually say they could not create the new disk partition table). I then tried to install Windows 10 fresh on the new drive (with the old drive disconnected) and who also failed with windows saying that it could not format the partition just created on the new drive.

Because the drive is new, I thought, as a test, I will try to connect to another machine to see if it still would not work. Well, it works fine. I am currently cloning my old drive to my new as I wrte it on the other machine. So at least there is that - my data should be safe. I might have bought a hard drive for nothing, but that doesn't matter that much.

An extra tidbit of information, it's that even starting from the cloning software CD was much faster on this machine on my XPS 8300.

So I think at the very least, the drive on the motherboard controller gives me bad.

    Now, my question.

I want to try buying a replacement motherboard, because the whole machine is still very fast (the CPU is one of the first core i7s, but it is always fast and I replaced the card graphics and RAM over the years). So if I was able to solve this problem, I could always get a lot of use from this computer.

Should I try to get the same motherboard model (i.e. a replacement motherboard for Dell this type exact) Dell or that I can find on ebay for example?

Or should I get a micro-ATX Socket 1155 motherboard to another brand of renown such as ASUS or other?

Honestly, I'm afraid that if I get an original parts of the same exact type, it will just fail again somehow not too long from now. This motherboard is actually a replacement that Dell sent a technician to install in my machine after I bought it, because the motherboard of the computer delivered with had a defect... And now this, so I'm not exactly sure in original spare parts from Dell...

I found information on this thread:

    Link to thread

on this same forum explaining what are the specific connectors of the XPS 8300 motherboard, so I should be able to connect any motherboard that fits the case.

What are your recommendations? Thanks in advance.

    Hello RoHe,

I ran thorough tests of RAM and HDD diagnosis. It took a long time (about 12 hours), but revealed no problem.

I was able to replace my motherboard.

I wanted to let you know also, that Windows was able to start on the new motherboard (after a phase of 'prepare the pilots' as when you install at the start). Also, it was not enabled when I started, but I was able to use the Windows 7 Pro key that came with my Dell to activate the already installed Windows 10 Pro, it worked like a charm.

So it was way less problems you said it would be, and now my machine is in excellent working condition.

    Thank you.
