• Inspiron 530: drive external sata hard not automatically recognized.

  Hello
  I have an external sata Hitachi HD.
  It comes with a back plate for external sata connector.
  When I plug this HD anything happen on windows (Vista SP1), I need to go into the Device Manager and search for new devices.
  The HD appears, then it is mounted.
  But it should not work this way.

  On my old computer (Asus motherboard and windows XP SP2) this HD works just like any USB device:
  When I plug in the external Sata connector, it mounts instantly and removable devices icon will appear in the bottom right of windows.
  If I want to remove the HD I just need to click on this icon and select the HD.

  I would like to than this HD to work on my Dell, as it does on my old computer.
  Is it possible?

  My desktop computer HP Pavilion HPE h8 - 1070t is not an output like my HP Pavilion Notebook 6v6t eSATA port.  Does anyone have ideas how to connect an external backup SATA drive to my office without this output port. ?

  I changed the Vantec Sata enclosure with Azio box and it worked.  I used two boxes with my other system without difficulty.  The difference is apparently significant with the HP.  Thanks again for your support.  Jim

  I was trying to install Windows 7 x 64 Professional on an SSD to the computer with a SATA - USB connector. I started the Setup, but it wouldn't let me install because it was connected with a USB key. Is there another way to install it on an external SSD?

  Unfortunately, no, Windows 7 must be installed on a device of storage internally. If you have the eSATA port, you can install it on a disk external eSATA.

• External SATA drive not recognized in Windows 7

  I use a SATA Sabrent USB adapter to connect an old hard drive Samsung SATA with Windows XP on it to my new Windows 7 laptop.  The older hard drive a lot of files on what I would like to transfer through.  After I have the hard drive lights and then connect the USB adapter to the laptop, I see the message that the drivers have been installed, but no hard drive does not appear in the my computer window or in the disk management window.  Indeed, these windows will usually hang after that I connected the drive.  This could be a problem with the drivers not installed, or is there something else?  Any help is appreciated, I really want to recover the files from my old hard drive!

  2. do you get an error code in Device Manager?

  3. What is the model of the Samsung drive?

  I suggest you to connect the device to a different USB port and check if it helps.

  Also, try to connect the device to another system running Windows 7 and check if it is fixed.

• Clientless VPN works internally but NOT externally. Help please!

  I have set up my VPN Clientsless on one ASA 5510 firewall and to access internal (using the IP address of the firewall internall) it displays very well.

• External SATA hard drive Possible?

  I have an Optiplex gx270s Pentium 4, 1 GB RAM.  Using XP Pro with Service Pack 2.  I am currently using a 320 GB Seagate IDE hard drive.  I am trying to record music and space need more hard disk.  Music production forums I've read suggest that you use an external drive for recording and editing.  My question is: can I connect a 500 GB to 750 GB SATA drive to this computer as an external drive?  If so, how?  I don't want to leave the file open, so I can't connect to the motherboard SATA and power connections while using the external drive.

  Help, please. I bought a pavillian a1520y a couple of years with HP added. Recently, I have the disk formatted and installed XP Pro. I got everything to work except Bus SM shows yellow exclaimation mark controller in Device Manager.

  I googled a lot and I tried all the suggestions there. Nothing has solved the problem.

  Please suggest where I can download the appropriate driver.

• Unrecognized external SATA drive

  I have a Dimension 9150 with two hard disks configured in Raid 1 (Mirrored), connected to the first two (0 & 1) 4 SATA connectors on the motherboard.  I recently bought a case of outside with its own power supply hard drive and the USB connection or the eSATA connection and installed a hard drive of 500 GB in it.  When you use the USB connection, the computer recognize the external drive and was able to format, however, when I try the SATA connection (using the eSATA cart provided by the manufacturer of the housing connected to the SATA 3 or 4 on the motherboard SATA connectors and backplane eSATA cable to the speaker), the drive is not recognized.  Any ideas?

  Note: There seems to be a hint in the manual of the Dimension that activation of Raid configuration may prevent the system from recognizing a drive connected to SATA3, SATA4 unless it is identified as a Raid drive 'spare', in which case the third disc is only recognized and used if one of the two in the mirror pair goes wrong.  If this is the case, I guess I'm sunk and stuck with USB slower unless I do it without RAID, but the manual is not really clear on this.

  So what I want to do is to load external jpg in an array of MovieClips and then access the main onEnterFrame function. My code is below:

  In this case, you are unable to follow if an image is loaded or not. It's easiest to do this. If your images do not come from dynamic sources and are set in the number and the position, you can use this method too.

• Stops randomly on the new desktop Studio XPS - 435 t/9000, please help!

  My parents spent an obscene amount of money on their computer, however, some being computer illiterate they needed me to help out, which I'm all too happy to talk. So here's the problem, the card will be at the end.

  As long as they have had this computer there randomly stop, little by little is that after large amounts of time to be under a light load (I would say 25% of capacity). He would not give an error or close the problems one by one, power, and everything shuts down (turns screen black computer is silent). He tries to return as if you were starting a shutdown computer about 5 seconds after it turns off.

  I thought it was overheating, so I installed a few programs of the manual fan control and ran a few tests with Prime95 torture. Overheating shutdown for CPU was at 90 c, but since the computer is idling at 36 and 62 max on a charge is no longer me, overheating is the problem. So the only thing I can think of that might cause the problem is the power supply.

  It was a costly computer and I do not want my parents wasted their money on it, any suggestion/help will be greatly appreciated , because I'm stuck and do not want to tell my parents to buy a new PSU, if this isn't the correct answer to this problem.

  Any other information needed is provided if I can find a way to find it on request.

  Had the same problem. Fixed what mine was enter Bio going to change (power management features) S3 to S1, save the changes. Never had the problem again. Don't know what I did. But it worked!
