XPS10. close App

Just got a XPS10 and noticed a strange behavior.

After failing to close the applications by sliding to the bottom of the screen, I tried in another direction. Looks like the movement works in all directions except the one 'normal' landscape.

What is a fault or a feature?

Mark Enderby

In the end, he went in and had a screen transplant. Solved the problem :-)

That reveals that you can't stop. I used drivesafe.ly in the past, and to do what it is supposed to do, it should indeed be run... so you should uninstall to accomplish what you want. Hello

The best you can do is set a value in the Info.plist file to exit the application pending. Watch the documentation here to see the list of keys, you can set to influence the behavior of applications: http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/general/Reference/InfoPlistKeyRefere nce/Articles/iPhoneOSKeys.html

  • IPad that two is running SLOW after upgrade to iOS 9.2? Also closes apps unexpectedly. All of the available fixes or should I try to install an OS earlier? Thanks Wes

Im running an iPad 2 # A1396 with iOS 9.2. I noticed a significant drop in speed and some quite unexpected apps. My wifi speed is 15mbs down and 2 upwards. Older versions of iOS ran much faster and are more stable. I rebooted several times with no improvement. I have exceeded my ability of processors A5?

Unfortunately, the installation of an earlier version of iOS is not possible. You can try to reset the iPad, but I doubt that that would solve the problem. It appears that he will soon upgrade to the iPad

  • Complicated backup rountine (rename, move, close apps, copy, etc...)

I'm trying to get a handle on a complicated system of backup, and any help would be appreciated.

I have a backup folder, when I sync my phone, Outlook and Google contact information. I manage this manually, as needed.

I have several folders in My Documents I want to save as a copy, on a calendar.

I have specific file types in these folders I want to back up.

I want to automatically create a folder on the desktop that contains all the files and folders specified and after successfully routine, deletes the previous backup folder, so it's on 27/01/14 [name of folder] and contains the game and then deletes the folder 20/01/14.

As part of this backup, I need my entire Outlook PST file, and because it is used most of the time, I need to be able to close Outlook, thus freeing the file, so I can copy it (I think).

Any ideas how to do this? We are talking only about something like 4 GB of data, but the orchestration of it is that I'm not sure.

I copy the folder to 6 different devices (especially USB thumb drives or SD cards) I already use Carbonite for my long term cloud backup and Ghost 15 for... daily restore points is different, as the 4 GB are given to others to keep up with them.

    Sincerely,

    Chris Monro

    Hi Chris,

Unfortunately, Windows backup doesn't have these features. Need you a facility in order to achieve these aspects, a third-party backup program.  We don't have any expertise in dealing with third-party backup programs, however, I am hopeful that another Member of the community would be able to help you with this.

Using Windows backup, you can let Windows choose what to back up or recover readers, libraries and individual records yourself.  Windows can back up files on a schedule that you choose.
You can back up to another drive, or a DVD. And if you use the Professional Edition or ultimate edition of Windows 7, you will also have the option to back up your files on a network.

    See the articles.

  • Request to close class (without GUI) app via the Menu - help please!

Hello everyone, as you can see I took the sample application for the execution of a background application and adds a system-wide menu. The question is how can I properly close the application via the menu.

  • fail... new ios 10 on my Iphone 5... Can not stop apps

I used to be abled double-click Home and then slide apps when I have too much running.  BUT... now I can't double-click, triple-click, clicks fast, slow, whatever.  I only kill the apps if I completely turn off my phone.

I'm really tired of 2nd phone immediately turned off by the updates... it might be time to get an Android phone... right at my expectations are lower.

    Hello daugmangregg,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support. It's my understanding that since the update of your iPhone to iOS 10, you have been unable to force applications to close. It is important to be able to force close apps. I'm happy to help you.

As the problem persists after restarting, it is possible, that the software is the cause. I recommend reinstall iOS. Although this step can be done without deleting your data, it's a good idea to back up your content first. Use the link below to back up assistance:
The backup of your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Once you have correctly saved. Follow the steps below to put your iPhone into recovery mode and set it up again:

    1. Make sure you use the latest version of iTunes.
    2. If iTunes is already open, close it. Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes. If you don't have a computer, borrow one from a friend or go to an Apple Store or service provider authorized Apple for help.
    3. When your device is connected, restart of strength with the following steps:
      • On an iPhone 6s and earlier, the iPad or the iPod touch: press and hold buttons sleep/wake and Home at the same time. Don't release the buttons when you see the Apple logo. Hold the two buttons until you see the screen in recovery mode.
      • On an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 more: press and hold the sleep/wake buttons and the Volume at the same time. Don't release the buttons when you see the Apple logo. Hold the two buttons until you see the screen in recovery mode.
    4. When you see the option restore or update, choose update. iTunes will try to reinstall iOS without erasing your data. Please wait while iTunes downloaded the software for your device. If the download takes more than 15 minutes and the device out of recovery mode, let the download is finished, and then repeat these steps.
    5. After the update or restore is complete, configure your device.

If you are unable to update or restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

    Have a wonderful day!

  • IOS 10.02: Phone/contact App suspended for a few seconds

I'll have a problem in which whenever I go through contacts in the phone app or change any contact then iphone more 6s will hang for 2-3 seconds. I have IOS 10.0.2 will fix this problem but its not yet solved. My observation is that every time the application attempts to fetch/update of data in icloud then I'm having this problem.

    Any body had same problem?

    Hi there, ZshanTChawdhry!

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple.  From your post, I understand that your phone app seems to become temporarily unresponsive when you edit your contacts. I'd be happy to help you!

I have some troubleshooting I want to recommend. Before you begin, please create a backup of your iPhone, by following the steps described here: How to back up your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch

Once your backup has been created, try the following steps, in order. Test after each step completed, stopping when the problem is resolved.

    1. Force to close the phone application, then restart it and return to the Contacts section. You can find a way to force close apps here: force a nearby app on your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch
    2. Restart the iPhone, as detailed here: restart your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch
    3. Restore iPhone to factory settings, following this article: use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to factory settings

Once the restore is complete, configure the iPhone as a new device (i.e. without using your backup, at least temporarily). You can register in iCloud iMessage, FaceTime and iTunes and the App Store using your Apple ID.

If adding contacts does not cause the application to phone to become unresponsive, you can restore your backup by following the steps described here: restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch from a backup

    See you soon!

  • Closing and switching apps iOS on IPad Mini 4 10

I just upgraded 10 IOS on my IPad Mini 4 and I can find a way to close or switch to the applications that are running in the background.  When I double tap on the Home button, it just put me back to the homescreen of IOS 10.  I no longer see the applications that are running on my IPad.  I can't switch between apps or apps close apps.  My Home button seems to work for everything, but not with their closing or switching applications.

How can I get that back with the Home button?

According to iOS 10 User Guide that he must always behave in this way:

    Switch between applications

You can easily switch between the applications you use.

See open applications. Double-click the Home button to bring up your open applications in the app switcher. Swipe left or right to find out more. To switch to another app, tap it.

    https://help.Apple.com/iPhone/10/#/iph1a1f981ad

    Try this:

Hold down these keys at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears: a) the sleep/wake button and the low Volume button (7 iPhone iPhone 7 and more) or b) the sleep/wake button and the Home button (all other models)

If that doesn't help, try a system restore. First save your device via iTunes. Also import your photos on your computer and copy all the data if possible. Reconstruction of the support first test and test. If this does not help, you may need to restore as a new and reconfigure from scratch as the backup may be damaged. It is important to have your photos and your saved data separately from the backup. Here are the steps for a restoration:
