XPS410/Dim9200 - no sound after MB replacement

Hello

I have a XPS 410 renamed Dim 9200.  He came with audio, which, from my original supplied specifications, I had ATI RADEON X 1300 PRO 256 M.  (I have the ATI Audio R157052 driver in my C:\dell\drivers folder.)

Now with the motherboard replaced, I run Device Mgr and who says SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC.  When I first pulled the system after that replacing the mobo sound was fine, but now all audio software, each of them don't play, after its launch.  Windows Media Player, my transcription software and a few others.

I have run the Dell Diagnostic and it only tells me what my audio driver need is.  Device Mgr, said, however, that I have SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC.  (I have Sigmatel STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio R147075 in my C:\Dell\Drivers folder.)

I have Vista 32 bit

In programs and features, I have two ATI Catalyst Install Manager (only) and SigmaTel audio installed.

(1) install another driver Sigma Tel?

(2) are there other reasons why I couldn't have feature in any program that requires sound?

Thanks for your help

Bella

I'm already computer-dumb, I don't want to install anything more stupid.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey, it's Bella again.

PROBLEM SOLVED.

When I tried to turn off the system, after the first launch all since the mobo was replaced, of course Windows Vista could be arrest because a large number of updates were in order.

Among the updates took forever to install, but I let it run and and and, finally this update and all the rest completed updates.

As soon as the first power after all these updates, the system would not boot Windows, but seems to be stuck in the boot.  I had to leave the room to keep my hands off the power button.

When I came back finally Vista was launched, and

MY SOUND IS BACK!

All previously mentioned most audio applications, one a newly installed plays perfectly.

Thank you!

    1. update the Bios to version 3.5
2 do a clean install of Vista
    3. install the added value of package
    4 install the audio driver
5 install the patch "mute off".

    Should work now.

Is everything OK again when your Qosmio restarts?

You know that's not easy to understand exactly what is happening. Is there an error message?

Maybe you should reinstall OS and test functionality with the 'settings '.

  • 3110CT no sound after installing XP Pro

I am a novice when it comes to laptops, so here's the problem: my 3110 ct no sound after installing XP Pro. Had no noise when I bought it with another operating system, the report says no audio devices installed.

Does this mean that I have to make a chip for laptop or a driver, I need & where can I find the driver or the part for this.

    Help, please.

Usually, if the audio driver is not installed you will get no sound, but also a yellow exclamation point must appear in Device Manager.

If the sound card chip is damage, I imagine that you will not be able to see the yellow exclamation point belonging to the sound card in Device Manager.

You bought this Portege as a second hand unit. Am I wrong?
So maybe the sound card is faulty.

The computer uses an ES1978 ESS (Maestro-2E) and sound chip ES1918.
Check if you can find an audio driver XP in internet.

    Hello:

I recommend that you try the audio driver IDT W8.1 support page for your laptop.

    This works in most cases.

This package contains the driver that allows Audio IDT high definition (HD) in the notebook models that are running a supported operating system.

    File name: sp58406.exe

If the W8.1 driver does not have the noise at work, try this...

Go to Device Manager and click to expand the category of audio, video and game controllers device.

    1. click on the Audio CODEC of IDT high definition in Device Manager.

    2. click on the driver tab.

    3. click on Update Driver...

4-> select Browse my computer for driver software.

    5. Select-> Let pick me from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.

    6. Select Audio device high definition (not IDT high def...)  "This is important). and click Next.

Warning message is displayed, but the answer Yes.

7 Windows has updated your driver software.

    8 restart the PC

    Key is step 6

I just upgraded my Tecra A8 to Vista. I used the the repostitory of driver Realtek driver, but I do not get the operation.

I searched by google that and found a help: I need to activate the Stereo Mix in the sound menu. Now, I see the activity in the speaker bar, but again the speakers say nothing.

  • Re: No sound after install Vista - Tecra M7

I improved my Tecra M7 to Vista (and then upgraded to Vista SP1) but the computer is no longer plays sounds (no music, no sound system - nothing)

I installed the latest Realtek HD driver, I have the latest version of the Bios.

Device Manager indicates that everything is working. "Speaker" icon tells me that his work (the green bar follows the beat of the music)

The volume & button Mute works - I can't get the "speaker" modifying, turning to the top/bottom/inhibition icon. I tried the headphones in and out.

I checked the bios if the sound card has been disabled it - but it seems that there is no possibility to change the settings of the sound card in the bios.

Does anyone have an idea on what I'm doing wrong here?

    Maybe I can help you;

I read on a sound problem after installation of Vista it happened if XP was preinstalled on your laptop and the mute box was accidentally activated.

Am not able to get sound after installing XP. Drivers from the Toshiba web site do not help. Does anyone have an idea on this issue. Thank you

    Hello

It's old model of laptop, and all pilots must work. I'm sure you make a mistake. On this old notebook, you must install Windows XP Home SP1 edition and after doing this install all patches software, driver chipset, driver and driver sound to the less rated. The sound should work fine.

If you have laptop model please download the drivers from the EMEA support page http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

    Good bye
