Y50 external microphone does not work do not

Bought the Y50 because it is decent spec for video editing (which works well), but - can not get the external microphone to work.

Tried a headphones/mic adapter.

Tried all the different settings in Realtek HD Audio Manager

I tried Control Panel / its parameters - this allows me to use the ' Mic in towards the front (black), even if it's on the side of the laptop - the volume indicator shows a signal comes from the microphone. The other "Microphone" device also shows that it works for the built-in microphones. I can type each microphone independently to see the answer in each Panel.

But - I can't get any software on the laptop to record really any external microphone signal, what I need for the voice-over.

The Installer 'Configure your speech recognition' "Assistant configuration of the Microphone" show a small volume entry but repeat myself "the computer did not hear you clearly.

Update

Feel a bit of a numpty - the microphone works now - whenever I tried to hear the recording of the test and I got the silence - that as a failure - I just needed to unplug the microphone from the socket to allow the speakers to play confused recording. Read white noise headphones - must deal separately with this!

Thus, the headphone splitter adapter is the key.

Hello

Yes - as I posted in the update - separator solved the problem thanks.

I can't say with certainty what may be wrong here, but two things confuse me:
-somehow your external MIC is obviously not detected because in the case when the external microphone is connected laptop switches automatically to it
-I don't understand why there are two identical entries under recording devices.

When I connect my headphone it is always a single entry (Conexant SmartAudio HD default unit), but my machine automatically goes to the external microphone only.

Have you tested the feature with some applications like Skype?

  • Satellite A215-S4747 (internal and external) microphone does not work

    Hello

I write about my wife by Satellite A215-S4747 running Windows XP.
A few months ago as the built-in microphone and external microphone has stopped working.

This made me think it was a driver problem, although no issue in
Control Panel > sounds and Audio devices > equipment for all drivers.

I went through the Troubleshooting Wizard, but that did not help.
I went and downloaded drivers RealTek HD Audio (R2.67), but that didn't fix it.

    Any help is very appreciated.

    Hello

Sound works. Right? Well well, in that case I n t think that it is an audio driver problem.

First of all, I think you should check some basic settings.
    (1) mic device.
Go to the control panel-> sounds and Audio-> Audio-> sound recording devices
Here you check if device right microphone has been selected

    (2) mic volume
Go to the control panel-> sounds and Audio devices-> Audio-> audio-> Volume
Here you check if the volume is at max level
Additional button Advanced should be available at the bottom of the mic volume control click that it and check if the mic push in checked.

Have you installed some tools or software which may affect (disabled) the microphone?

  • External microphone does not work - HP G62 Windows 7

    Hi all

My microphone works fine. Also, if I plug in a headset, his mic works fine as well.

However, I tried to use an external microphone like this:

but it does not work on my laptop HP G62, although it works perfectly on a PC.

I'm running on Windows 7 Ultimate.
    Any tips?
    Thank you

heheheh... Sorry, I was wrong! I've changed the mic to stop rather than switch!
The word 'on' should appear when you switch, not disappear.

  • External microphone does not work do not after update

Computer does not recognize my external microphone after an update.  How can we solve this problem?

The computer recognizes the headset but not my external microphone.

Most often when a device does not work, it is because the driver is damaged. Re-install a new copy should help

Remove the driver current completely and install the latest driver available.  For instructions on how to do read everything to update the drivers of my partner JMH3143 http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki/windows_other-hardware/updating-a-driver/a5e6345e-af9b-4099-bef0-8d22254aa1c1?tm=1436753520149 here

  • Satellite A300D-11 t - external microphone does not work

    Hello.

    I have the Satellite A300D-11 t, Windows Vista HP 32 bit SP1.
After almost a year of functioning of the system, Vista decided to fail. So I reinstalled it.

I downloaded all the necessary drivers and forgive me - no unnecessary waste, such as + help +, + acoustic silencer +, + Config Free + and so now (surprisingly fan slowed down and all the computer is colder).

Now. When I plug the headphones with built-in microphone system does not automatically switch on this one.
In + Control Panel / sounds + I can see that I plugged it, I can do a test and the test itself works perfectly with a helmet but + recognition + however receives sound from microphone.

Also when music plays of any player, plug the headphones does not switch anything - music plays again from built-in speakers. The same situation with + Skype + and change any setting does not help.

Initially, I forgot to install the audio drivers because Windows has done it for me, but adding it did not improve the situation.

I'm starting to think that maybe I didn't install anything. Here's what I have so far:
    -lan drv - 20080715144843
    -modem drv - 20080403094119
    -realtek wlan drv - 6115011122008
    -utils sd card - 20080715144653
-sd media flash drv - 20080715144631
    -his drv - 20090407140600
    -touchpad drv - 20080715144806
    -webcam drv & soft - 20080715144822

Can someone help me with this?

    Hello

As far as I know that the laptop supports the audio chipset Conexant CX20561 then you must install the Conexant audio driver!

Please install the SP3 of XP Win first before install you the audio driver.

PS: If the newer BIOS version has been released then update also!

    Greetings

    Hello

It looks more like a hardware problem, I mean a problem of external microphone jack what you think?

    Just a question;
It is perhaps a silly question, but are you sure you used a right sleeve to 100%? Maybe you mixed the headphones with mic jack

  • microphone: external microphone does not appear

    Hello

I have a microphone plugged into my Macbook with bluetooth headset. See 1st picture below

But I can't it selected in Imovie to recode a voiceover. See 2nd picture below

Do anyone have the same problem or the solution?

Do you have an option "system setting"? :

My Mac has no built in microphone but my mic webcam selected works OK.

Unable to use the bluetooth microphone has been reported for the iPad and phone of iMovie versions.  It looks like it may also apply to iMovie for OS X.

A solution could be to record the voice-over separately with another application, then transfer the file to iMovie.  You could look at iMovie when registering in order to get the correct timing.

    Geoff.

  • Internal microphone does not work in Satellite C850-B377

The microphone does not work now. It worked very well but immediately stopped.
Tried setting the sytem for a previous working restore point. But again same problem.
Realtek is the audio driver installed.

    External Mike works very well.
Anyone can help with this problem.

Laptop bought the UNITED Arab Emirates and now in India and its less than 1 year.

Can I get the service locally in India.

    Hello

The internal MIC is part of the webcam module.
What happens if you start the webcam, try saving and small clip? The sound recording is this too?

Usually, you can change the recording devices in Control Panel-> sound-> recording tab
Here, you can check what devices are available. Right click and check if hidden and disabled devices can be demonstrated.

By the way: I had some problems with the playback of the sound after installing the Realtek audio driver. I uninstalled the Realtek audio driver and Device Manager remove the audio display Intel (in games, field audio video controller). In the peripheral zone system you could remove the controller high definition audio.
    Again, restart the laptop.

Usually, removing devices should be recognized automatically. Then go again to the dashboard-> sound-> recording tab and check if other devices outside external microphone are available.
