Y510p clean install (software Lenovo)

Hello

I want to reinstall windows 8.1 on my Y510p with a USB (created with windows) recovery.

First of all, I wanted to use the OKR (factory Windows 8), but I dualbooted ubuntu and know that it no longer works.

I have al the drivers, but the problem is the software from Lenovo. I can't find Powerdvd, Youcam...

Thanks for your help.

Hello

Today, I reinstalled successfully my laptop!

First of all, I recreated all the OKR partitions with an ISO, I found on the web. Then I used a USB Ubuntu to put the file "install.wim" (which I have before backupped) on the recovery of the partition and then I could use the OKR to load the factory system!

I'm so happy that my Lenovo is back to factory with work OKR settings!

Thanks for your help!

  • IdeaPad y510p clean Windows 7 install - SSD not detected

I bought a new Ideapad y510p just before Christmas and I wanted to do a clean install of Windows 7-64 bit.

I created a USB startup device as required and put the drivers from lenovo on her page too.

My problem is: after you delete the partitions, the installer of windows 7 do not recognize the SSD more...

Furthermore, when it came to load the drivers, it says no driver signed device not found.

Someone has an idea of what's going on?

    Hi Clet,

Since the serial number on this picture, you have the 59375625 model. After digging further, this parts search page and this point merchant does not seem an SSD on the specifications list. If the reception / box indicates that you have a 1 TB + 24 GB SSD, you may need to check under the hood (see pages 38-39 of the hardware maintenance manual)

  • Clean install of an installation of Lenovo. DVD: UEFI vs Legacy + installation according to Lenovo Thinkpad user Guide

    Machine: T520 purchased February 2012

    O.S. W ~ 7 Pro 64-bit

I want to wipe the hard drive, buy a Lenovo W ~ 7 DVD installation of PRO and make a completely clean install.

The user guide for Lenovo (.pdf), Ch. 8, Adv Config, installation Windows 7, p. 295 (298 212) said:

Start the installation of Thinkpad, choose UEFI against Legacy, and then insert the installation DVD.

This of course does not apply when the hard drive has already been erased (required to 100% remove all traces of damage caused by a virus, including the recovery partition (Q-drive).

When an intallation DVD is purchased from Lenovo, is not the first step to insert the DVD? Then there is probably a resulting install wizard an O.S. restored?

If this isn't the case, please tell me what are the surprises in store, and where I can find a reliable resource to consult written!

    Thank you.

    Hi, Z

Sorry, but I'm not all-new advanced in the understanding of the apparent contradictions, or how to proceed.

It is not the case in this case that the Lenovo User Guide is referring to one of several types of clean install, and that he has no idea the other methods?

If my first step to reinstall the version of Lenovo's W ~ Pro 7 is to use a 3 rd-party app to remove completely all the files from the hard drive, how do I then perform any action before inserting a facility provided by Lenovo dvd? I know that the BIOS software is separated from Windows, but it's still there? Alternatively, is the User Guide of Lenovo referring to a situation in which a first is not a so-called "hard drive wiping" before to start a clean reinstall? In addition, if a wipe everything first or not, is the guide referring to an installation of Microsoft (generic) dvd and not wearing only not on a Lenovo purchase? I think that an installation DVD purchased from Lenovo back on my computer, exactly what was there before and ask me not to make decisions as the UEFI against Legacy (in fact, the words "UEFI" and "Legacy" are not yet in any computer on my computer profile file.

On the other hand, if the L ~ the User Guide instructions apply in fact to a hard drive wiped, the Guide says absolutely nothing about what criteria to use to make this 'choice' between UEFI 64-bit and 64-bit legacy.

(When the Lenovo user guide instructions raise more questions than the original question, then these instructions are worse than no instructions at all!)

  • Satellite P500 - 01 G-install the Toshiba software after clean install

    Hi all

I have a Toshiba P500 - 01 G (http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/products/computers/satellite/p500/pspgsa-01g003/overview) running the grouped Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I bought an upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate, but can not use it, he just tells me to use Windows Anytime Upgrade.

However, I can use it for a clean install and I intend, but I don't know what to do on the Toshiba Software (http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/computers/satellite/p500/pspgsa-01g003/download?os=25).
I read on another thread that the software must be installed in a certain order and frankly I have no idea! I don't want to break something! I'm not to ask for the list accurate for each of them (except if you have time) but just a general guide as to what I should install in the order.

Also, I guess that my recovery partition is erased in the process and I can't get it back. Is this true?

Thank you very much. I really appreciate it,
    Abraham.

    Hello, Abraham

I m the Satellite P500 owner too and it's really great machine, isn t it? I like it. My Toshiba best ever.
My machine is preinstalled original Toshiba recovery image and it works without any problems so I put t want to change anything.

Back to your question. I assume that you have a few reasons why you want to use the Ultimate version then you should try to clean OS install. Before you anything create recovery DVDs. Make two copies.
After that make what you can do with your laptop all you used to because if you want to have the factory settings, again you can use created the recovery disc and install original recovery image.
After recovery of registered OS image will help and you will not be able to start the installation of HARD drive recovery then please create restore DVD.

  • Not able to install the HP software after a clean install of win7, hpbi and harddisk.dll error

    Hello

I bought a tm2 with win7 home x 64, my IT guy at the office have installed win7 ultimate x 64 and of course all the HP software was missing when I returned. Fortunately, they recorded the old files and I was able to locate the SwSetup folder and managed to install essential drivers.

However, I miss all the HP software, which means that I can no longer find it not in the SwSetup folder or it will not be installed. I found the HP Touch Smart 'something' Center (folderHPTSLC) but I get the error "hp\bin\hpbi" and I found the Recovery Manager win7 HP homepage, but I get the error "hardDisk.dll.

I am really a bit upset that I have to spend so much time to solve a simple problem, I have an intact recovery partition, a partition HP tools intact as well as all the files in the SwSetup folder, how can it be difficult?

I want the software I paid and so far, I spent several hours looking for a solution to a seemingly simple problem (just provide the software on your hp, or at least one that reinstalls the Sw from the hard drive to the HP computer if you fear that your software may be used on other HP computers...).

Can someone please provide me with is the solution to the problems mentioned above, a link to the HP Touch Center application work (although I have the files, he just moved there) or tell me how I can restart the installation of the HP software and driver that happens just after you have configured your win7?

    Thank you

I agree, our IT screwed up guy, they didn't even know the upgrade thing... :-/

In any case, I found a way to install the software I was looking for, just unzip to a folder and run the .msi file in the src folder.

Even if not all the applications had such a record, most of 'em had.

After playing with the sw a bit, I realized that I didn't like it anyway, boy I'm glad, I wasn't going to come home!

and btw, we bought a HP Mini and it was a nice little software, called AppInstl in his swsetup, actually just the sw file I was looking for. Of course the same thing happened with the Mini ('clean' installation), but with this app, that I managed to re - install all the sw I wanted without any problem, except QuickWeb, of course, but that seems to be a general problem.

Seems to me that HP has also seen the need for a "easy install your software after clean install" app.  :-)

Thanks for all your comments, my problem was solved!

  • Can I do a clean install of Windows 8 (without the DELL OEM software)?

    Hi people,

I just bought a DELL Inspiron 17R laptop computer which came with Windows 8. I want to install an aftermarket SSD and do a clean install of Windows 8 on the SSD without all the stuff extra DELL piles on the computer in their factory. However, the laptop does not come with any media of Windows 8. My other options (copy windows divide in the SSD or use Windows backup and restore), both result in installing Windows 8 with a lot of software DELL.

DELL said that they do not have the installation of Windows 8 media and I need to contact Microsoft to get it. Any ideas on how I can go about this? I'm happy to pay a nominal fee for the discs, but having already an OEM of Windows 8 installation, I want to avoid going to the shops and buy a new license.

    Any ideas are much appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Chris

Unfortunately, your only option is to create a disk backup and restore using recovery tools provided by Dell and use it to reinstall Windows 8. This is especially true because you run Windows 8, which are not available elsewhere.

    or

    SSD of cloning:

You can clone the installation for the SSD, provided that the SSD is large enough to accommodate the installation to be cloned.

    See

http://www.ssdfreaks.com/content/664/how-to-clone-HDD-to-SSD-with-Windows-7s-own-software or (easier) use a copy of the trial of Acronis True Image Home.

Note that, immediately after cloning, you must stop and unplug the original installation. The disc can be reconnected once the DSS started successfully.

  • Pavilion 14 G6S71UA #ABA: I'll always be able to use the pre-loaded software HP products if I do a clean install of Windows 10?

I have a laptop 14 flag that came with Windows 8.1 - 64 Home, and I have upgraded to Windows Home 10-64. The upgrade went very wrong, but I would use Win 10 if possible. Microsoft recommends that I have to do a clean install of Windows 10, which will require you to reinstall all my programs MANY. They cannot tell me, however, if I'll still be able to use some of the applications delivered HP pre-loaded on my machine and that I find very useful - even if I am out of warranty. For example, I use HP Support Assistant updates the driver, and I found that HP DriveGuard works really well!

I'll always be able to download all of these products and hence? I'll be able to get them on the page of the drivers for my laptop? If I can't, I'll probably have to settle for return to Windows 8.1.

    Thank you.

Because the rep on the Microsoft forum did not answer my questions, today I called the support of Microsoft Windows 10 phone number. After that the rep is lost another hour of time my (and their) me browsing to enter SafeMode via several methods, everything I told him that I had already tried. the representative suggested that customizations of account that I had applied could be the cause of the distress.

She also informed me that, for security reasons, Windows 10 no longer allows connectivity Mode Wireless safe; Although, if your PC is physically connected to the modem/router, you should be able to enter in IE (and maybe even in Edge) in Safe Mode.

So I added a new local administrator account (that said, I log in with a password and not with one account Microsoft.), to be used only for safe mode and left all its parameters to the default values for Microsoft. And it worked! When connected to my router, I could get in Mode safe mode with internet connectivity via IE! Thanks to this rep, I finally have success.

  • 7. clean install

    Hi all

    I have a Thinkpad R500 2732 - 32G with Vista Business 32.
I would like to upgrade to two things: a SSD drive so I don't have to worry about the shocks on my hard drive at all (I'm pretty freaked out when there might even be the slightest possibility that this happens right now).
But for this I must also move to Windows 7 for better support than Vista for these readers.

The plan is Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.

My question is this: if I install the two updates, will all run on 64-bit, I want to say the software Lenovo has preinstalled right now.

And is it possible to make a dvd like I did for Vista that contains an installation full of every driver and every piece of software you can do a complete reinstallation in a few hours?

Yes, Lenovo also provides x 64 drivers for Windows 7. Please find the appropriate Support Page or ThinkVantage System Update drivers to automate the installation process.

Please note that you can do an upgrade from a 32-bit of Windows Vista installation to a 64-bit Windows 7 OS and vice versa. You will need to do a clean install and then manually install the drivers (above)

You can create an image backup of your system with 3 third-party backup software or ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery (I recommend it) when it has all the drivers, and which correspond to your needs.

Hello, have you tried to reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support?

  • Synchronization problems with the clean install

    Hello.

Is it possible to push the content of my iPhone to my computer? (and not the other way around)

Recently, I did a clean install on my Mac Pro and trying to get everything in working order. I got a load of music and voice notes on my iPhone that I don't want to lose, but the only way iTunes will allow me to manage the content of my phone is erasing all the content on my phone to sync to the 'new' library

    Help, please!

    Thank you

A new installation of the operating system shouldn't have deleted personal data files unless you want to say that you have done more than a "clean install". You do not install the data files.  Looks like that erase you the iTunes library file and it was a big mistake because it is towards this specific copy of the file iTunes Library.itl that tries to sync your phone.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not that a transfer backup device and media has been planned with you keep a master copy of your media on a computer that is in itself independently supported against loss.  To use a device with a different configuration, you pass the old library from a computer or a backup directly in the new configuration, not the device to the library. Synchronization of media isn't a way, computer device, update the contents of the device to the content on the computer, update or restore the content on a computer from a device. The exception is media to iTunes Store purchases that can be transferred to a computer.

Re-download or transfer your purchases iTunes Store for the iPhone, iPad or iPod to computer - https://support.apple.com/HT201267 - 'this feature only works for content purchased from the iTunes Store. From iOS9 is more apps that now need to be re-downloaded directly from the store.

To transfer other items from an i-device to a computer, you will need to use third-party commercial software.  See this document in turingtest2: recover your iTunes library from your iPod or device iOS - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991 even this method can fully recover what you originally had in the library. For example, in order to save space during synchronization if you had converted music files at a lower rate, or photos at a lower resolution, it is these lower quality files that will pick you up.

If you subscribe to the Apple music, titles that are not part of the content that you have purchased or downloaded may not be transferred and must be downloaded directly from iCloud.

To see other items: import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - https://support.apple.com/HT201302 - are those you have taken yourself.
