Hello

It is launched in a scheduled task, so open windows control panel, open administrative tools, and open Task Scheduler.  Once click Task Scheduler Library to highlight and look for an entry called 'MirageAgent'.  Left-click this time to highlight it, then right click and select Disable.  Restart the computer for the change to take effect.

  • How to stop programs that run automatically at startup?

Hi I just wanted to know how to stop programs from running automatically at startup, I already ran msconfig and disabled programs that I don't want to run at startup and it always automatically start also on msconfig, it indicates the applications that I don't want to run at startup is disabled and it always runs at startup. The programs that I don't want to run at startup are tom tom home and bbc iplayer desktop, but he always runs at startup.

One other thing is when I install new programs, that they automatically run at startup without my permission.

Palcouk did preferred proposals. Another way to identify which loads when you start using Autoruns (freeware from Microsoft).
    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902

With Autoruns, you can deselect an item which disables startup, or you can click with the right button on an item, then remove it. If you clear the check box that you can check back for re - activate the element. It is an approach much safer than editing the registry and better than using msconfig.

A useful feature of the program is that you can click with the right button on an item and select search online to get information about the selected item.

  • How can I prevent videos from website run automatically?

I run Media Center live and recorded tv in a small window during the visit of my favorite sites.  Many of the websites have articles I want to read as well as the same information in the form of a video (complete with ads).  I would like to know if there is a way to prevent, audio and video on websites to run automatically in Windows 7?  The audio portion of videos runs simultaneously with audio of Media Center what the audio of the two useless.

I do however sometimes, visit video sites like Hulu and network sites to watch streaming tv shows of old and would need to be able to turn on audio/video on these Web sites.

What is a setting in Windows or in the browser?  I usually use IE 11 for web browsing, but if there is another browser that offers more control over the audio/video Web sites I could without browsers.

You can't control that, sorry.  Only the person who programmed the site can decide how the site works.  Or they can give you the control to choose, if they built these options on their Web sites.

  • II you need VERY basic instructions on how to stop a program from running at startup, without the help of Windows Defender.

I have a Vista operating system, I use Firefox as my browser and I have MS Security Essentials, I turn off my Windows Defender.  I want to disable some programs from starting automatically, but I can't figure out how do it when I can not use this feature in Windows Defender.  I'm not at all read and write or experienced in computers or software, so PLEASE keep this in mind.  I really need advice for flush on a kindergarten, with each specific step the easiest way, so I can understand & follow him.

Thank you for your help in this matter, as well as for your understanding of my limitations.

    Hello

Without knowing the programs you want to disable, I'll start by saying that I can't be responsible for adverse effect to the normal operation of your system.

    That said...

    • Click Start
    • Type msconfig and press enter
    • Click on the Startup tab

You will see checkboxes for programs that run at startup.

Or you can use a more comprehensive tool called autoruns...

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

Maybe is a better way to explore the settings for the programs themselves, there is often a check box for "do not run at startup.

  • How can I stop programs@from running in the background?

programs - I never userun in the background as institutional calendar. I would like to launch a clean background and a sleek office. Is ok to ermanently remove apps / programs I not have access? or better yet I can remove the icon without deleting the program I talk about these programs preinstalled. latter case your room for answerng this - what is the diffrence between apps widgets n programs on the droid.

I'm sorry it explained not completely. I will try. Default apps cannot be uninstalled or removed. You can go into management applications in the settings and force closes, but it can start up if the operating system decides that she needs. There is an application that will allow you to hide the icons, but I don't remember the name. I don't know of a setting in the calendar application to prevent it from running. You might want to make sure that it is not set to automatically synchronize. This could be the reason why he is running. So the only way I know to keep them from running in the background is using a task killer, so the answer is always the same. I hope that I have cleared it up a little bit.

  • Is there a way to disable Firefox from telling me that Adobe Flash Player is out of date?

We run a program that does not allow students to update programs or make other changes. The problem is that Firefox thinks that it NEED to update Flash Player whenever there is a new version. It is simply not feasible with as many computers as we support. 99% of the time, the update is not necessary.

Is there a way to disable Firefox from telling me that Adobe Flash Player is out of date?

You can disable the blocking of modules in Firefox and remove the file blocklist.xml in the profile folder.

    Disable these prefs.
Extensions.blocklist.Enabled = change this pref to false
Extensions.blocklist.URL = delete the url if Firefox can't find the server where this file is sent from

  • How to prevent the launch automatically plug-ins Firefox on Mac?

Is there an extension that prevents the launch automatically the Firefox plug-ins? When I open a new link, any video on the page automatically begins to play, usually after that I scrolled before the video to read that I'm here for, while I have to scroll upwards or downwards to find in order to stop - slow and slows down my browser - at least it seems to do. Can you help me? Thank you

Individual plugins can be set to "Click to play" so that they do not start automatically. You can give permission to sites allows to run plugins on a page by page basis or on a site-by-site basis.

Open the Add-ons page for the Plugins section:

Tools menu > Modules > in the left column, click on Plugins

Then for Shockwave Flash, for example, or for QuickTime, change the selector "Always enable" to "ask to activate.

When you reach a page that wants to use one of these plugins, you will see at least one of them:

    • icon in the address bar that looks like a piece of Lego
    • notification on a gray rectangle dark where video normally would appear
    • information bar slides between the toolbar and the top of the page

In the dialog box, you can approve the plugin for the current page, or "remember" who approves all pages of the site.

Try it and see what you think.
