Yellow light on the motherboard

Hey guys quick question, well maybe not fast but here goes

My pc happened to me after purchase off the coast of a re-Builder dell on e - bay, he likes to start getting to the office stay on during a minute or two, then a blue screen saying that it is a hardware error, so in total two questions.
1. is the yellow light associated with my hardware error
2. How can I correct the yellow light? 7

Thank you guys
Galv.

Hi Galv,

Welcome to the Dell Community.

I suggest you run diagnostics on the computer that will isolate the problem.

1 restart the computer and press the F12 key to access the one time Boot Menu
2. Select Utility Partition Boot, and then press ENTER to start the diagnostics

Please take note of the error code if you get one.

Please provide the following details:

1. yellow light is steady or flashing?
2 - is the power button?
3. model system

Thank you & best regards

  • TouchSmart 610: TouchSmart 610 lights. I have a set of 5 beeps with a yellow light above the power button.

I keep my office earlier this morning with the entry of the normal shutdown process. When I went to reactivate tonight all I get is a set of 5 beep with a yellow light flashing above the power switch. Repeat this five times then beeps stop and only yellow continuous flashing. I can hear and feel the hard drive running. I tried to unplug the power supply and then plugging, but the same thing happens. If I push and hold the power button on, it sounds like the hard drive stops and restarts. The normal blue light comes on for a few seconds then turns off and is replaced by the yellow flashing light. All you have no idea as to what may be the issue?

    Hello:

Normally 5 beeps means there is a problem with the memory.

I suggest that you remove and reinstall the memory modules and blow up if this doesn't fix the problem, if your PC has two memory modules, an and see if the beep disappears.

If this is the case, remove this module and specify the first condition in you removed and if the beep begins once again find the defective memory chip.

If it is not, remove the module and put the other in you deleted and if the ringing stops, you have found the faulty memory chip.

Then replace the faulty memory module by one with the same specifications.

If the ringing continues despite trying these steps, and then either the two chips of memory are bad (unlikely), or the motherboard has a problem.

  • Yellow light on the base station

Don't know how to ask this, but this is.  My internet provider has sent a new modem which I am connected to airport utility.  All about the network seems to work, but there is a yellow light, always playing on the airport utility.  I can't get the light to go out.  As I said the network is working, but I fear that the flashing yellow light could be a problem.

This shows the base now network. Anyone has any idea as to why the yellow lights flashing and how to stop it?  As always, your help is greatly appreciated.

AirPort utility will tell you why the orange light blinks and what to do to solve the problem it represents.

    Open AirPort Utility

Click on the image of the AirPort Extreme and a small window will appear

Look at the message that appears next to the State

    Hi no video without audio

you hear unusuall beep when switching on your computer, so yes, there must be some problem with RAM

remove the RAM on your system to shut down condition, clean any particles of dust on it

replace the RAM and restart the system

If the problem persists, change the RAM

  • Dell XPS 420-not power blinking yellow light lamp

I turned off my computer and when I went to turn back would not turn on.  The power button flashes orange and turned the yellow led on the motherboard.  I tried outlets and power cord of switching with the monitor without result.  I have also all disconnected devices.  Also, I unplugged the power cord and held the power button for 10-20 seconds without result.  Is there anything else I can do.  Also because it is almost 8 years old is it worth repairing.

    Randy24G

It still looks like a power failure

Replace the power supply, on a scale of 1 to 10, I would say, is a 4.

You can find the procedures on page 165, also read the section "before you begin" on page 99. Here:

  • Dell XPS 420 not go, bright, flashing orange light orange on the motherboard, flashing green light behind USB on motherboard

I am running Windows 7 on my XPS 420, I had updated the power supply two years back and installed extra ram and an SSD, a few months ago.

I quit the PC last night, normally

This morning, it is not booting, the light was blinking orange, including the connected mouse was blinking also.

I decided to open it and check all connections; everything went well on the inside.  Before you open the PC, I unplugged all the extras connected like mouse, etc.

The computer has actually started up normally and when I plugged the monitor it looked ordinary, he had reached the Windows login screen.

HOWEVER, when I plugged the first rear USB component, the computer off and started to blink.

I'm not sure what the problem is here.  My motherboard is fried?  I don't think it's the power supply from the computer DID resume after I noticed the blinking yellow light.  I wonder if the flashing of the earlier mouse and/or the flashing green on the back (inside the PC) of USB port average something else.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated

First check that all the cables for power and data are correctly connected, including the cables on the front panel.

No difference and if you're comfortable working around computers, you can try the following:

Note: The only 100% POWER supply test method, is to install a known working power.

Unplug the power cord, hold the power button in for about 15-20 seconds, open the case, disconnect the power connector 24-pin motherboard and jumping the Green wire to one of the black wires, plug in the power cord and the power of the system, if the PSU, case fans and disk hard drive performance then the power supply can be good.

Note: Do not remove the wires from the plug, use a small piece of wire or a paper clip as a rider.

Extract supply and the system still does not work, yet once remove the power cord, hold button power in a few seconds to discharge residual power, reconnect the connector 24 pin to the motherboard.

Remove any PCI video card [as appropriate], memory cards, all the devices, unplug data cables and power to all readers, check that the cable from the front panel is connected to the motherboard, without anything else connected to the system, reconnect the power cable and power the system on.

If there is no difference in the diagnostic lights, of "Beep" codes and/or the indication of the LED on the power button, it would seem that the motherboard is dead and/or the processor and the only method I know to check a processor is perhaps install a compatible work PC, or use a known job processing.

  • I have a HP officejet J6480 all-in-one printer. The screen is white and yellow light flashing

I have a HP officejet J6480 all-in-one printer. The screen is blank and there is this little yellow light flashes on the Cancel button.  I can not print or fax anything because the screen is empty. Since the light started to Flash the entire printer has not worked. Can someone please HELP! : womansad:

Well, if you haven't tried this and then create a coercive power reset:

Do not activate the wide (although you can), remove the power cord at the back of the printer. Wait at least 30 seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the printer. Turn on the printer. If that clears up the flashing light/white screen, then try printing etc...

If this is not the case, see if something visible is originally the error state such as paper jam, odd items in the printer, nothing fancy. Also try to plug the printer directly into the wall outlet as opposed to a look/power surge Strip, or even try a Jack in another room if it is not successful.

  • the yellow light bar no longer appears on the laptop screen

The yellow light bar no longer on my laptop screen.  In addition, other Fn command combinations do not work.  For example, open and close the CD-DVD drawer to get "sleep" and "hibernate" do not work.  OS is Win XP home edition by Dell - Inspiron 6000 model.

My system crashed a few weeks ago, and documentation put all my old programs in a directory labeled '' OLD programs of data. ''  So, I have more media SOUND, neither the Alps Apoint system work original mouse pad, even if the files are still there.  Yet most of the data old things still works fine.  Any suggestion or help would be appreciated!  Thank you...

I would say your computer is about 5 years old? Go to Dell (drivers and downloads), put in your service tag, which you can find at the bottom of your computer or in the configuration of the Bios, or you can just put in Inspiron 6000. Look for these 2 drivers: Media Direct and quick adjustment. Download and install.

    Files Media Direct is: R107182.exe

Quick setting file is: R109280.exe also it is R130907.exe but I would use the first.

Double check to make sure that these files with the ones listed for your computer, because they allow the missing functions as well as Hibernate icon to "Turn off computer" and the forehead touches Play that launches Media Center if you have XP Media Center.

  • The yellow light OptiPlex 990 / 2,3,4

I have a two Optiplex 990 who stopped to boot the system. They light... fans spin up the DVD player turns... but then Diagnostics lights 2,3,4 and show the power button turns orange instead of green.

The system then just guard road and stop with the constantly diagnostic lights.

I tried to remove the HD, CD drive, graphics card, CMOS, both fans. None seem to solve the problem. On one of the two, I replaced the motherboard. That did not help also.

I have also reset the memory on units

    Grateful for any help!

    E

I have the same problem with dell optiplex SFF 990... There was also a previous optiplex 790 with the same problem, but the two, I was able to fix... I opened the power supply and discovered curved 2 capacitors (2200uF 10V) and replaced both.  Now the two systems work well.  It of a cheap cap and should be replaced with the quality of those like nichicons, etc...

It might be possible to also find caps curved on the card mother esp on the area of heat sink.

If you are not technical then, go to an electronics store and have your powersupply be summarized / renovated... Note: before you fix it myself i tried the built-in self test for the power supply (press small black button located on the back) and he said the PSU is good and also I measured the voltages of each individual output (5V, 12V, 3.3V) and all gave good reads but you cannot be sure because there is still no load.  So as I suspected I opened the power supply and discovered the bulging caps / leaks...

Hope this will help you all.

  • HP8300 - green light flashing on the motherboard and PC do not work

    Hello

yesterday, I changed the power supply of my HP 8300 with a new office.

the computer has been disconnected from a week of power supply (230 VAC).

Now it does not work when I press the Start button. No noise, flashing on the front.

On the motherboard there is a green led flashing (close to the led, there are 2 Word: to THE and CATERR #).

I tried to change the power cable. No change.

I tried to remove the RAM. No change.

I've read other post on this forum.

What is the small battery on the motehrboard? Can I leave the pc connected to the power supply, or did it damage?

    Hello Mike

I don't know where you live, but using Google, maybe you'll be able to find some independent hardware store. From time to time also check eBay because there you can find a lot of hardware for the old models of Toshiba laptops.
