  But this logic seems to fail by operating the 1st day of the month (ex: 20081001).

• How can I keep 'creation date' to copy the files?

  I copy a lot of files to cd and dvd on an external/portable hard drive to save them, but I've found that the 'creation date' and 'date modified' options (in Windows Explorer) are displayed as yesterday's date (the date I copied them to my external hard drive, and not when they were actually created and modified years ago).

  I really need the files, once they are copied, to display the original "creation date", and if possible 'date modified', can anyone tell me how to do what you please?

  I read that I can Zip, copy and unzip them and it should maintain the original dates, but this seems to be a kind of long-term to do things. Y at - it maybe a checkbox somewhere to confirm that you want to keep the original dates before copying them? Also, I am running Windows XP Professional, Version 5.1 (service Pack 3).

• Calendar in Windows Live Mail - my data's gone!

  I have been using the calendar in Windows Live Mail for months. When I logged in yesterday, all data and appointments, I was seized for months left.  The calendar is completely empty.

  I did a system restore with no luck. I ran in safe mode with no luck. I ran a disk check in the BACK without success. Any other ideas on what I can do to find my calendar information? The file would be corrupted? I rely on this calendar and all my info disappeared, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

  As far as I KNOW, you can't get yesterdays date without calculation in java.

  When I interactive check Info link, the modified date is Tuesday, January 17, 2012 07:18 but my script returns the date that the link has been updated rather than the date of the file. For example, it may be yesterday's date even if the file has been updated a few minutes ago.

  I really wanted. I create a button which gives me really yesterday's date (i.e. fix this for general use) is to display the yesterday date in this format: YYYY-MM-DD

  I'll show you my code, and surely you will notice it will not work and it is buggy, but I tried:

  An example using this function would be as follows:

  Now, you could see the problem with this, is that if we are on 4 November, the date might be a - (less) if the offset is-7 days.

  Is there a way I could create a function that returns me a date in the format YYYY-MM-DD by calling a function that gets me today's date and removes the days of offset. (month and day would also apply: ex: -10 days since 2009-11-07 would return on 2009-10-28 )

  You can subtract 24 hours from the date object to get the date of the previous day and avoid the 24 * 7 to get the date of the previous week.

  Once you get the new date, you can use DateFormatter for formatting in any format.

  Check these methods

  I did yesterday a data base to make my job easier. I could make it even more effective if I could understand this delicate piece of business.
  
  What I have is in my table has a column called "Date completed". This column contains the date when the project was completed. Then, I would like to have another column in the table called "number of days elapsed since completion. This column would have simply taken the date in column "Date completed" and count the number of days since that day and show them in a numeric value (i.e. 28). This way I could do a select and display everything is over for a number of days where I need complete my report (s).

  Your number of days can be easily calculated as trunc (sysdate) - date you completed column.

  You probably don't want to store the number of days in the table (since his will change daily)-instead it calculate on the fly that you query the data (or if you have 11 g you could watch the virtual to make columns persistent calculation rather than the value in the table).

• Warranty on my Toshiba Satellite A200 laptop

  I've owned a couple of Toshibas new so far, and they have always served me well!

  With my laptop business, I have to remember to save when I bought it, but with my camera private, I've forgotten to do. Now that I think of selling, I would like to register, so that the warranty is extended to the next owner. The laptop is in perfect condition, so it is a formality, but if I wanted to buy a used laptop, I'd also appreciate some kind of security approved by factory.

  I have a Satellite A200-1WR, s/n 28 222 536 K. When I tried to register it, I filled yesterday's date, assuming that he would show me the date of purchase. Instead, I got a screen saying that the date I had supplied is too far from the production date. I don't know what was the exact purchase date, besides that it is less than a year ago. However, I am sure that I bought in October or November 2008.

  Anyway, I hope you can help me get the interest registered correctly, so that I can sell the laptop with all the service that makes the best laptop made Toshiba on the market.

• reading questions

  I have a new mp3 player in yesterday's date.  I downloaded music and started using the deevice.  Somehow, I had opted for the FM radio and tried to find a way to return to the mp3.  I never understand this.  Much later in the day, I had no sound, and none of my buttons were not working.  Even today.  Nothing works.

  Yesterday, my screen says still 'music' and no other information on the display.  I couldn't screen to modify and view the music that I downloaded.  Always the same thing today.

  No idea what I did or what happens?  I'm new to mp3 players and it's my first.

  If you peel not one-off, it is still there and that is your problem. It seems that the music on the screen but it is just an image printed on a piece of static-sticker vinyl/plastic to protect against scratches, during manufacturing, packaging and shipping.

• I can't get out of Safe Mode boot

  Ouch, I really did it this time. I am running Vista Home Premium, AMD 64.  Last weekend, I tried to download an audio file and could not understand why it wouldn't download.  It turns weird as extensions AU or something.  But before I figured out it is the reason why it would not download, I tried other things that probably did not help my computer at all.  I went on a site to update the drivers.  I have no idea that I have updated drivers.  I also downloaded a new version of Java.  There may have been other things I've done but I do not know what.  This shows that a little knowledge in the wrong hands can be a dangerous thing!

  Since then, I've been making some unusual pop - ups.  The first said "rundll32 Windows host process has stopped working".  I've been using Windows & so, I understand why I'm going, but I don't know how to get rid of it.  The other pop-up that was more worried is "Windows Defender detected programs that may compromise your privacy or damage your computer.  Trojan:Win32 / nundo. Gen! A Trojan:Win32 / Hiloti.gen! One' being not not sure of what I did over the weekend that caused this, I decided the best thing to do was a system restore to a date preceding the last weekend.  I tried last night, April 14. When I went into the system restore, there was no option to choose a restore point other than yesterday's date, April 14.  I clicked on choose a different restore date but nothing happens.  Why is this?  So finally with no other choice, I clicked on yesterday and proceeded to restore.  After the restore and the computer has rebooted, I realized that I was still getting the same two pop-up windows.  Here is where I really get things screwed up.

  After the restoration & closing & turn my computer once or twice to see that I had the same problems, I came up with the brilliant idea to start my computer in safe mode.  I don't know why, I didn't know what I'd do once I'm in safe mode, but I thought I'd give it a try. I reiterate the previous statement, a little knowledge in the wrong hands is a dangerous thing! So I did a restart and exploited the F8 key until that startup options it.  I chose safe mode.  Now, almost nothing works.  I can't go on the Internet.  Restore still won't let me choose one date other than those of yesterday and the worst of all, I can't return to normal startup upward.  I tried restarting the computer and tap the F8 button until what came startup options it.  I scrolled down & selected normal startup upward.  But when it starts, it is always in safe mode.  I spent more than 4 hours trying to solve this problem.  Finally, I turned off the computer and went to bed.  I was hoping that the computer fairies could come and fix things while I was sleeping.  No luck.  This can be corrected?  Your help is desperately needed.  Be very specific.  I'm sure it's hard to say, but my computer knowledge is limited.

  Matt, thank you intervene and adding additional support for this issue.  I don't see your answer in time & I took my computer to the person IS where my husband works.  I was too scared to run the full recovery.  One of my big questions I couldn't get out of Safe Mode Start up.   Here's something important, he found... It is entered in the system configurations and found START up in safe MODE has been verified.  Don't ask me how this cuz happened I don't know I go there & check it but once he fired it I was able to repeat a regular start.  Hallelujah!  He was able to fix most of my problems, but I've always had some problems... as not be able to uninstall a program.  With the extra help last weekend from this site, I think I'm pretty much back to normal.

  Do you think I should run the Vista SP1?  I started to do the day that my system was haywire so I highly doubt that it installed properly.  Will not be automatically implemented Microsoft?

  Once again, thank you to all who helped me with this.  I would be about $200 more poor now if it wasn't for your help.

• Downloaded Update Windows7 cannot find where he was rescued

How to find the "cabinet"?  I looked in the download folder, unable to determine if all were just downloaded.  The download would have yesterday's date?  My Windows Update will not work.  I need to install a particular update to make it work again by the community solution.
