Yosemite - tried erasing to reinstall. Cannot identify or boot from USB?

So I tried to erase the hard drive Macintosh utility disk in Recovery Mode. It seems to have been a problem in the process. Now I am unable to remove anything else, or delete.

I tried to create a USB Bootable for clean installation with El Capitan (terminal: sudo/Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ El\ Capitan.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia--volume/Volumes/Untitled--applicationpath Applications / Install\ OS\ El\ Capitan .app X\ - nointeraction) but just get a black screen with a symbol O after trying to start. Now, I can't even connect to the original user profile which inexplicably still exists. He is trying to open a session and then returned to a black screen with a symbol O.

Disc checked and repaired without apparent problem. What have I done?

Your internal hard drive is not partitioned properly.  Your drive should be

APPLE HDD (model/size)

Macintosh HD

Let trendy USB. Stop. Hold down command + keys R turning into recovery. Use disk there to clear utility and then create the Macintosh HD partition. You will then be able to install.

You've created an installer that will initialize screen install OS X or allow the start of recovery. It does not start as an OS installed X. "createinstallmedia" is an excellent tool for recovery, but it uses the whole USB. After running, you can dedicate a 8 GB USB Thumb drive for a backup installation media.

Bravo!

    Hello

I bought a new Toshiba Satellite NB10T-A-101 and want to improve performance by changing the HDD with a SSD and install windows Pro 8.1.

However, I am unable to boot from USB, it always mention:
+ Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key. +

I already disabled secure, used 5 + usb startup different sticks (work fine on other laptops).

Can you please tell me what the approach is to change the HARD drive and then boot from a USB bootable (UEFI).

    Thank you.

    Hello

Laptop Satellite NB10T-A-101 was equipped with an Intel CPU 2810 n which is part of the new Intel Bay Trail-M platform.

This new technology Intel Bay Trail allows installation of UEFI capable systems:
    Win 8 or 8.1 Win

    Just a few questions:
Have you already changed the HARD drive to SSD drive?
If so, the new SSD is recognized in the BIOS?
Have you tried to boot from the USB flash memory stick 8.1 Win until you changed your SSD drive?

A key USB bootable you have created by recovery media creator?

Go into the BIOS, use the tab of the System Configuration.

    Enable Legacy Support.

Plug the USB key into one of the usb ports.

Press the F10 key to save the changes and exit.

Now, press the F9 key to select the first boot option.

You should see the USB key as one of the options if it is in fact a bootable flash drive.

  • Cannot get Z3 - 615 to boot from USB or CD/DVD

I've been trying to get a Z3-615 to boot from the CD/DVD or a USB bootable device. All my attempts have failed. I have checked all the settings of the bios, changed the boot order and all other options. I try to boot from a well-known Windows 7 disc. I tested the CD and USB on other devices and they work perfectly.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

to install windows 7 on your desktop, you must move from UEFI to legacy, disable secure boot and allow to launch the CSM.

I've set USB and DVD as a priority higher from startup in the BIOS. I get the alternative start menu, choose DVD or USB, but it starts just Windows 8.

Boot from an additional media under Windows 8, you will ensure that you have either disabled Secure Boot or changed to UEFI in the traditional mode.  The following articles describe how to do this.

Are what software or program you trying to boot from?

    To do this.

Insert the USB key into a USB 2.0 port.

Reboot the system and press "ESC" key immediately after the judgment.

    Now select "Boot Menu".

USB support can appear in two places: in UEFI or legacy.

Try UEFI, if this does not work then repeat and inheritance.

  • Cannot install the boot from the DVD - OEM of Windows 7 (full)

Generally, I am able to reset the priority of readers, so a computer will boot from a DVD.  It's my first time on Win7 and I can't make it work.  Insert the disc in Windows (XP currently installed - 'not real') indicates the drive is not compatible with this version of Windows.  I thought that booting from the DVD would help, but I'm prompted to "press any key to boot from the CD/DVD" and every time he ignores me and goes backward to boot from the XP/hard drive.

At this point, I tried to affect the CD/DVD drive that all the priorities, not only the first condition.  I tried to use the other DVD player because there is another - still no luck.  Isn't this updated software in place to work this way?  It should be bootable, no?

    Thanks for any help...

Here's a question I would ask. Your computer is 64-bit compatible? If it isn't, it's probably one of the reasons why you would receive this error message. Please run the Windows Upgrade Advisor to see if your computer is ready for 64-bit.

  • Envy 13 d001ne: cannot install Windows 10 from usb flash drive

    Summary of the problem:

The laptop SSD has a GPT format. I am trying to insall a Windows 10 ISO I have on it from a flash drive. Formatting a usb startup as TPG manually or using Rufus drive will not make the unit visible non-traditional mode. Formatting the drive in the MBR on the other hand I cannot install on a GPT disk.

I've tried everything. I disabled and enabled secure boot. I updated the BIOS to the latest revision F.35.

    What's wrong?

The ISO had problems with it. I used another and then I could install Linux Mint and Windows without any problem.

    I solved my problem here.

  • Cannot install Windows 10 from USB on older iMac

10.11.2 here on an end Quad Core iMac 2009 (11.1) running. Newly added THAT SSD has a GUID partition scheme. My Superdrive is problems, so I changed the file Info.plist of the Bootcamp Assistant to support my iMac by adding my model # for the readers of preusbsupported, removed the pre and added to my version of boot rom. He then began to create the Windows 10 ISO on the USB without problem. I then start the installation of Windows 7 Bootcamp and more. Once finished, I stop the iMac to be able to do a cold start system and use the startup key Option. I then started on the newly formed Stick Pen labeled EFI. I proceed with the beginning of the installation of Windows 10. However, when I get to the part where fault window to format the Bootcamp partition always reports back that 'Windows cannot be installed to this disk. Windows cannot be installed to GPT disks on EFI systems,'. So that's where I'm stuck. Can anyone shed light on this issue and if there is a solution for this? I appreciate it because I spent hours trying to fix without result! Thanks for your help!

Update: I have done experiments about the above issue and found that if I just let free unallocated space on the SSD for Windows 10 10 Windows install it reformatted and installation takes place. I wonder if the above question has something to do with firmware the in the 2009 end iMac? Anyway, the good news is that I finally got the USB Installer Windows 10 working on an older unsupported late 2009 27 "iMac. 10 Windows installed fine internal DVD drive for the iMac, but who went south so now I have an alternative!

  • Cannot re - install Windows7 from USB key created with Dell Datasafe Local Backup

    Hello

I created Dell Datasafe Local Backup recovery media and stored on a USB key.

However my laptop Dell Inspiron has only USB 3.0 ports so when I try to boot on the USB it tells me: "cannot find the image of system recovery. "If you try to restore your pc from a USB 3.0 (blue) USB Port please connect to another USB Port, restart your PC and try Recovery.

If my laptop has no former USB 2 ports and, apparently, Windows 7 doesn't come with native support USB 3 so how can I re - install my system using the USB that I made Dell Datasafe Local backup?

I tried to make a set of Dell Datasafe DVD, but it is not I think that there is a bug in the routine of Datasafe Local Backup DVD recovery media.

Am I better off Dell asking to send me a re-installation OEM DVD set? How would I do that?

    Thank you.

First of all try to change this setting in the BIOS Setup disable USB 3.0 features to install Windows 7 from a USB Flash drive

Regarding the DVD of Reinstalaltion demand that I recommend. For US customers, there is a relocation brackets online application form. For customers not in the United States, you will need to contact Dell's technical support and ask for one. Customer numbers are available here. • NB100 - cannot boot from USB pendrive

    Hello

I wanted to try out Ubuntu netbook remix, so I downloaded and it loaded in my key USB of SB after making the md5sum test. When I start my netbook the first screen where you can press F12 and F2 for BIOS freeze for about 2 min then start windows.

I use a Kingston DataTraveler 4 GB USB key, I don't think it's the USB because as its bootable on my other laptop.

    Thank you.

    Hello!

This only happens with the USB or without USB too?

Have you tried another USB key? At the moment for me it sounds like the USB key is not compatible with laptops or isn't working properly.
Can you please try another USB key?

    Good bye

  • Flow 10 7 HP - Windows does not start, I can't get into recovery 8.1 because cannot boot from USB-HELP Please!

    Hi all, I'm new here!

I am (excuse me: has) with a stream 7

A few days ago, I tried to install Windows 10 TP renovation 8.1 with Bing. After a while of waiting, he managed, but unfortunately I have forgiven to in SSD Tablet hp drivers, thinking that they were not necessary. If the touchscreen, WiFi and all the other stuff has failed. After I've got collegated by OTG, a keyboard and a mouse, that I managed to use Windows 10.

Try to install the drivers, my fault, I opened a .exe from Realtek (perhaps for audio), Tablet asked to reboot and after that I can't access Windows anymore.

I tried to start Windows 8.1 from a USB key, but it does not start, the same even if I disable secure boot.

With disabled bitlocker Windows gives this error

In the start option, I set these settings

I put the USB in this way:

The stream does not consider the USB absolutely XD

If I turn on again the secure boot Windows gives this error (which 99% is caused by the .exe I installed):

Restart the flow some time with secure boot it goes in a menu (where touch screen works) where there are a lot of options to reset Windows, but none of them doesn't work. If I try to format in this menu it asks password for my account, but it does not accept the mine :/

If I try to open the collection (from volume button when it starts less) it gives this message:

    Waiting for relief,

    Thank you for your patience!

@fotogruia in my case, the indicated operating system was windows 10 and as I wrote it has worked well. Good luck!
