  I have read several messages in forums dealing with this error message and tried all the solutions without success.

  Here is my trouble.  I have three computers all running Windows 7 Home Premium and a Sony PS3 all connected wireless to my home network via a Belkin N router.  All internet connectivity works fine, all printer connectivity works very well.  All computers and PS3 can access files via the network and the Group of attachment between them well... except for one, my laptop.  My laptop can access the files on all computers in a group and they can all access to each of the other homegroup files, but cannot access the files on my laptop.  All machines that I am trying to access the files on my laptop computer produces the error message; "you don't have permission to access \\LAPTOP contact your network administrator to request access to."

  Need some help please, I tried every setting I've read, ensuring the good protoccols TCP, ensuring that homegroup settings allow access, ensuring that files are shared, disabling firewall, disable Kaspersky, setting the parameters of sharing etc etc ad nauseam.  Nothing helps.

  Maybe this can help.

  Problems of permission and security with Vista/Win7, check the following settings.

  All the users who are allowed to share need to have an account on all computers that they are allowed to connect to.

  Everyone is an account, that means a group of all users who already have an account now as users.

  Using the functionality of all saved the need to configure authorization for each of theestablished users, it does mean not all those who feel that they would like to connect.

  Users who do not have an account on the computer are not part of the Everyone group.

  If the LAN security is useless and users are not established, then move on the guest account provides the semi-open configuration.

  You can check the permissions of the file or folder the file is saved in and appropriated:

  a. right click on the file or folder and then click Properties.
  b. click the Security tab.
  c. under group or user names, click your name to see the permissions you have.
  
  To take ownership of a folder:
  a. right click on the folder you want to take control and then click Properties.
  b. click on the Security tab, click Advanced and then click the owner tab.
  c. click on change. Need administrator permission if you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  d. click on the name of the person you want to give to the property.
  e. If you want that person to be the owner of the files and subfolders in this folder, select the Replace owner of subcontainers and objects check.

  I'm working on implementing Secure Enterprise Search. I have install the connectivity between PeopleSoft and SES have deployed research definitions and created indexes.
  For example, I have deployed and build and find the HC_HR_COMPANY_DIRECTORY1 of PeopleSoft HCM 9.1 definition.
  When I use the research of the Application of the banner of PeopleSoft to perform a search on a key word, it returns results.

  This prefaced the url with 6 separate parts by / in the base url http://myserver/psp/ps/EMPLOYEE/HRMS/c/ PeopleSoft
  I found this JavaScript function in the HTML PT_COMMON object.
  
  I don't know that the PT_COMMON.js should not be setting place, so the question should be somewhere in the engine of the application that creates the index feed to HER.

  While lately I got this problem where some file I download, I don't have the permission to access, which is quite strange for some reason.

  Normally when I download something I automatically be allowed to do whatever with the download file (that is, move files, open, delete, etc.). However, my computer was disable this method and not allowing any user to do something with it. He said something like "this file cannot be accessed, please see the bulletin under administrator" or something of the sort. I managed to solve the problem manually by accessing the properties and in the Security tab, add "Kamchinn(Admin User)" to the Group and enable it, and it works. My question?   I have 4 computers on a network peer-to-peer (1 x 7, 2xXP 1 x 98).  As of today, one of the XP machines will not display the network when I try to access it through "My Network Places".  He says I don't have permission, but when I serch for computers I can find and connect to all the others on the network.  Also all others can connect to the problem machine.  He worked for many years.  I can access the internet via the router and the other computer without problem.

  How can I solve the problem?

  I have a partial solution, but would still like to know what could cause the problem.  It worked:

  1. disable Windows Firewall

  2. connect the group to work, and then to a computer

  3 turn on the firewall

  4. use network resources

  5 restart the computer and now computers are visible when I click on the name of working group without disabling the firewall.

  But the question is "why did - it go wrong, and what I did to sort?
