'YouTube Cookies disorder' in Firefox on Mac 15

From yesterday when using Flash Video Downloader in Firefox 15.0.1 running on a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.7.4 2011 I started to have the dialog box next box when I try to download any video from YouTube.

YouTube Cookie problem
To continue the download of youtube, you need to clear cookies for youtube.
You want to delete Youtube cookies right now?

When I click on the button for Flash Video Downloader in the menu bar I get this dialog immediately and clear the cookies makes no difference, the problem persists and I can't start a download. If I use the button at the bottom left of the browser, I can get Flash Video Downloader to bring to the top of the full window but all the videos seem to be n/d and do not show their size. If I click on the download in this window button, nothing happens and in the Firefox download window the file is size 0 KB.

This only happens on YouTube now and no other sites that I frequent. It also contains exactly the same on the old Mac running older versions of Firefox and older versions of Mac OS X, I searched for the last day and cannot find a single reference to this dialog box or this problem. Has anyone else seen this problem firsthand?

I already ran through the usual reset, update, deactivate, reactivate and disable any other routine and nothing makes no difference. But right after I post my question, I was able to download a YouTube video making that, just before I clicked the Flash video download button in the menu bar, I deleted all the cookies. The downloaded video then normally. If I make the mistake of click the DL with even an existing cookie then there is no way to solve the problem, it is a continuous loop of the dialog box and no way to fix without restarting Firefox. This is certainly a new subdivision and probably because of something, YouTube has changed on their side.

I don't allow cookies many remove them all a few minutes and always automatically remove when Firefox closes, but this behavior has begun in the last 48 hours and as I mentioned appears to be independent of my machine, OS, and browser version. It is limited to YouTube only however. I just wanted to post this because I'm probably not the first to experience this problem and I don't know others he will soon be seen. Thank you.

  • When I run firefox v42 mac, the Preferences tab load as well

When I run Firefox version Mac 42 on Mountain Lion, my homepage loads perfectly, but another 'Préférences' tab always seems to load as well. How can I stop this other tab from loading? Thank you, Ken.

Hi Ken, one of the possible reasons are if the preferences page has been added as a second 'Home tab' in which case it will be displayed in each new window (Cmd + n) and every time that you click the Home button.

To verify that you can use the preferences, the general Board, the section to start page, as described in this article: start-up, homepage, tabs and download settings.

In the area of the Home Page, look for a vertical bar separating two addresses of character. A simple example with short URLS:

    https://www.mozilla.org/|about:preferences

The bar certainly can be hard to spot with long URLs, but when you find it, delete everything to the right of the bar, then the bar itself (I suggest to remove the last bar so things don't accidentally get it together).

  • Firefox for Mac does not recognize a valid SSL certificate

Firefox for Mac does not recognize the SSL certificate that is valid for this site, I got: https://www.georgeglazer.com. It gives a warning "not reliable." However, the Firefox for Windows does not give a warning. This happens even if I clear the cache and it happens in the Mavericks and OS of Yosemite. The certificate is up-to-date and with Comodo. Firefox for Mac is now the only browser producing these errors (v. 39, put updated) - Internet Explorer, Safari and Chrome are not. Our hosting provider has said it's probably a browser issue, perhaps having to do with intermediate certificates in Firefox being obsolete. I really hope you'll solve the problem, as it's annoying for us when we're going to do right by our customers and pay for the SSL certificate. I have attached a picture of the warning and the other from what you see on a PC: a pop-up that says it is a verified SSL certificate and gives details about the issuer, the period of validity, etc.

COMODO should you sent a link to download the file 'bundle' containing the intermediate certificates. Who needs to go in the same directory as the certificate of your site. If you are using a control panel, your host can probably help with this process. And if you bought through them, shame on them for not taking care of this for you already!

  • Uncloseable pop-up windows in firefox for mac

    Hello

Some Web sites will open the pop-up windows, even if I have a pop-up blocker enabled.

The problem with these pop-up windows, it is that they have the option close as for other windows of Firefox for Mac.

This results in the ToolTip remains open and the only way I can get rid of it is to stop completely from Firefox.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hello

Maybe you could try the keyboard shortcut command + W (close the current tab) or command + SHIFT + W (close the current window) when the pop-up window appears in the foreground.

  • What is the difference between the cookies keep until I close firefox and the history of cookie empty closing firefox?

In the settings of Firefox 33.0 (I use Ubuntu 14.04, but the functionality is the same for Windows 7) there are two ways to delete cookies when firefox closes. Or at least, there seems to be.

Is first the cookies keep until firefox is closed

Second is to check the box for clear history of firefox closing and in the settings check cookies.

What is the difference between these two options?

I usually have two configuration but I noticed that a connection was not save for td canada trust EasyWeb, even though I have an exception set for it. Now I unchecked to remove cookies by disabling the history on close and connection records correctly.

This connection allows to save 7 cookes under easyweb.td.com and 10 cookies under td.com and I have exceptions defined for both. If I clear the history when closing and include cookies, half of the td.com cookies disappeared when I close firefox and re - open. The same is true if I'm not the exception.

So currently I can't find a way to keep all cookies if I clear the cookie history when firefox closes. What is the difference with this option?

When you change the default cookie 'to life' of "keep until: they expire" to "keep until the: I close Firefox", Firefox changes all persistent cookies that sites set session cookies. To allow a site to place a persistent cookie, you need to make an exception (site permission).

When you turn on the story to stop compensation and include cookies, running a completely separate process that doesn't doesn't pay attention to the duration of cookie or exceptions (permissions site). There just nukes all.

Note that some cookies could survive if they are encoded in the history file of your session of compensation at the stop, a Firefox uses to restore your tabs and windows from last session. I have not tested.

  • Firefox for Mac OS 10.6.8 28 won't let me log on some sites.

I encounter this problem with Firefox 23. I've upgraded to Firefox 28 and the problem persists. It is not limited to the connection so. Sometimes, when I fill out forms online and press on submit at the bottom of the form, nothing happens.

Recently, I had to reset my password on a website. Once the password has been reset, I was able to enter my username and a new password; but when I clicked the Connect button, nothing happened. There was no rotation arrow or whatever it is stated that Firefox even try to connect.

Sometimes online forms let me enter my name but not my zip code. Sometimes the form is my complete address and Firefox won't let me enter data up to a certain point, then it stops. I find exasperating sometimes and wonder if there is a way to solve this problem.

It is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted if clear cookies does not work.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete the other files of cookies as cookies.sqlite - journal in the profile folder of Firefox in the case where the cookies.sqlite file has been corrupted.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.

  • I have an iPad and you'd like to raise my list of bookmarks of Firefox for MAC to my iPad Safari.app; is it possible automatically?

I have a MacBook Pro under OS X 10.5.7 and an iPad running iOS 6.1.3 2.
On MAC, I have Firefox for MAC v 19.0.2 and Safari 6.0.3
The iPad, I have only Safari for iPad. I always use Firefox as my browser for the MacBook, but there is no Firefox app for the iPad.

My Safari bookmarks automatically updated the MacBook to the iPad, but not Firefox for iPad. Is it possible for the auto update from Firefox instead of Safari to the Safari.app iPad? If not, is there an easy way on the MacBook to hold Safari bookmarks up-to-date with bookmarks in Firefox, so that the iPad share my Firefox bookmarks?

If this is not possible now, you count that is possible for MAC users who also have an iPad?

  • What is the URL from where I can download 10 Firefox for Mac?

I can't use Firefox 11 for Mac because it does not yet support an add-on I need security. So, I want to go down to 10 Firefox for Mac in 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

However, I could not find the URL from where I can download these two versions of Firefox for Mac 10. Yes, I tried to put several keywords in the search field: 'Download' 'downgrade' etc. 'Firefox' "previous versions". I still couldn't locate the URL.

Would you be kind enough to send me the URL?

I found my own answer. This answer works for all versions of Firefox, not only for version 10, not only for the Mac.

The URL is ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org.../releases/. From this URL, you then navigate to the directory (aka subfolder) for the version you want to download.

Of course, you need to know how to download from an FTP: / / URL.

  • Impossible to install Firefox on Mac 10.5.8 PowerPC G5, crossed icon

I had FF runs completely OK, but then tried to upgrade to FF9. After download of the FFicon has been crossed, one a dialogbox says that my system does not support this version. I threw this away and downloaded version 6, but it still blocked on the thing and does not open.
How can I get a version of Firefox on my Mac?
    Everything else works perfectly.

You have published with an Intel Mac, so you must have another who is Mac PPC. Fix?

From Firefox 4, Mac must have an Intel x 86 processor (G5 is a Mac PPC) and OSX 10.5 or higher.

The good news is that Firefox 3.6.x supports even OSX 10.4 and Mac PPC Mac architecture. The bad news is that the support for Firefox 3.6.x series is likely to end in the first quarter of 2012.

You can try the TenFourFox third-party product that supports the PPC Macs with OSX 10.4.11 and OSX 10.5.8. There are 9 Firefox version TenFourFox . The product is based on versions of Firefox released. All support is provided by the developer, not by this site:

  • YouTube freezes or crashes firefox but works fine in Internet Explorer

Every time shoot youtube in Firefox it immediately freezes or crashes with the whole browser. the only thing I can do is close Firefox via the Task Manager. This happens every time. It used to work fine. I have disable even speed up the video. Nothing seems to work. The only time where this kind of work is when I uninstall and reinstall firefox or flash player. Then the first time I have pull up to youtube, it works fine but when I close the browser, then re-open it and go on youtube, I have exact the same problem as before.

Firefox will pull up to youtube without problem when I uninstall the Flash Player (of course can not see the videos then), but after the installation of youtube freezes.

Also Internet Explorer out of the youtube videos great, like Firefox, used to do. Don't know what the problem is or what has happened, but youtube immediately freezes or crashes Firefox when Flash Player is installed in firefox

Hey guys I think we have a solution for this one. More often the case, the glitch is not with FF but with some plugin or incompatible piece of SW.

Troubleshooting: Uninstall FF, uninstall flashplayer, uninstall all toolbars in the browser add ons etc. (if necessary, use Adobe Flash uninstaller (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html#main_Download_the_Adobe_Flash_Player_uninstaller)

Reinstall the latest FF and latest Flash Player version.

DO NOT add, activate, fix anything else at all. Just naked FF and only most recent flash player.

If you had Zone Alarm toolbar add the earlier and have uninstalled and reinstalled do not, FF is likely to pullup videos youtube without problem.

Zone alarm toolbar is incompatible with FF when installing Flash Player and pulling upward on a youtube page.

It is likely that other toolbars can also be incompatible so just install the naked browser and then the Flashplayer. If it works you can begin to reinstall addons etc one by one.
