z index bug

Hello! need a little - to - help.

Under browser compatibility, I get the following message:

Positioned containers define a new stacking order, even when the computed z-index of the container is automatic. This may cause some children of the container to appear above other elements positioned on the page when they shouldn't.

Affects: Internet Explorer 6.0, 7.0

Probability: likely

How can I do this right?

Thank you, Tony

Maybe this will help clear up any misunderstanding about positioning declared as well as the use of the z indexing:

The actual display of a positioned element will depend on or not has a parent element is also a position declared or not.

z-indexing works only with items that have a declared position.

Using a stated position as absolute said and browser to take this element out of the natural flow and do something different with it. If you have the browser analysis in order from top to bottom, then throw in some elements that are completely out of traffic... they can be very difficult to control, because there are special rules that apply to items with reported positions.

The least understood of these rules are what I call the "rule of the Parent. Giving an element declared as relative or absolute position can have huge differences in the way in which this element appears actually depending on whether or not the PARENT of this element has also a declared position.

So a div which is position: absolute for example will display a way if it's parent also has a declared position and it will show in a completely different way if it's parent is NOT a declared... position to consider:

If parent container a div IS NOT also has a declared position, the child

1 of 2 things will do so.
If position: relative, he positions himself as you wish but space will remain as if this element was still in the natural flow. So you can move the item 500 X 100 and rollover, but a space of 500 X 100 will be left, as if it was still there.
If position: absolute, child is positioned against the window of the browser and this position does not change even if the window contracts or expands.

So don't forget to give a position with the parent and the child

.

Failure to follow this rule is the main reason why the use of declared positioning fails.

And just one more point, almost never is necessary to use a declared position, and that method should definitely not be used for general page layout.

But when a particular situation that happens you really need z-indexing... so of course, you also have to use a declared position. Understand the rule of the 'Parent' will work with z-indexing positions and declared much easier and more effective.

Best wishes

  • Is the most recent HR is output to Word index bug?

Before wasting any more time trying to get 12 index pages to match the 450plus-page document, or learn to, in a few days, how to manually index a great Word, not new versions of index RH outputs CORRECTLY doc? Just upgrade is perhaps the simplest thing (here in the corporate world) that he figure out on my own.

Please let me know as soon as POSSIBLE!

First of all, I would like to thank Peter Grange for taking the time to help. Even on the weekends! Thanks Peter!

Problem solved--Yes Harvey, I even took my headers from level 4 to level 2. This helped, but not completely. This isn't the solution. Here's what I did.

    I copped RoboHelp. (!)
I just couldn't make sense and then began to study more about the word index and information available online.
For example, the Towson University has large format PDF on the Concordance of the files in Word.

Procedure to obtain a usable index in Word:

    1. use HR to generate an index. Edit and manipulate according to needs
    2. all work out in Word.
3 check and confirm your Word document.
    4. has the index Word, copied in the new file, deleted the page numbers and make a 2 column of this table.
5 copied column 1 column 2 (second colum) can be used to change the display of text real index.
    6. has created a match with these data, which will be later exchanged AutoMark 'Index' of the Word as a file.
7 closed Word - no need to save the document.
    8. I returned to HR and reloaded the work.
    9. completely remove all the index entries and save this way (without index).
10 once again this work to the output Word.
    11. open the document in Word.
    12. now do my usual HR induced by need-for-repaginate (because of a bug in the image) and add necessary page breaks.
    13. go to the Index of Word feature and enter the concordance file and place the index finger if you wish.
    14. Add the header that says "Index:" (or whatever you want to the position of the Index.)
15 repaginate table of contents and the Index and "Whallah! All page numbers now match the table of contents and Index.

Now, the index is indexed to the PAGE not the SUBJECT!

  • Overlay with z-index

Looking for advice on the use of z-index in my CSS to position the YouTube video on the homepage of this site behind the drop down navigation menu. It is not a problem on my Mac (Firefox and Safari), where the stratification is correct, but on my iPhone and my customer's PC, the video is in front of the navigation.

    http://www.simplycommunicating.ca

I tried positioning with z-index, but do not seem this problem properly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

You must place the z-index to make it work.  Recommend that you use absolute or relative position: fixed does not work well on iPhones/iPads.

    Example: http://www.shopcopco.com/template2011.test.asp

Try to type "copy" in the search bar. A list of correspondents associated copy terms should appear below. On most of the browsers no problem. Older versions of IE and IE9 in compatibility mode is the content of the above content autosuggest menu bar.

I have tried the following to address the question:

-Set the z-index .iframeSuggest, .hideSuggestClass and div suggestion than the menu styles.

It is not content styles and spry that require an adjustment, it's the containers of these elements.

  • TDMS open, FALSE to create an index file bug?

    Hello

I have the version of LabView 2013 Pro. I (would) like the new feature to choose to not create index file when you open a new TDMs file for data logging.

However, even if I wire a constant TAMPERING to the Terminal "create index file?", when my farm asks the PDM file after recording data, an index file is created.

I correctly write data and close the file in the end...

    Is this a bug?

You can try to reproduce it?

    Thank you!

    Hi man,

According to you the description that the index file is created when you stop recording of data. If your machine is running the DataFinder (it's a service installed by DIAdem), the DataFinder will start indexing the TDMS files when the TDMS file is closed. If LabVIEW does not create the index TDMS during the recording of data file, but the DataFinder indexing service creates him index file TDMS when process data recording stops.

So if you have the DataFinder running on your computer, please, try to turn off the service of indexation of DataFinder icon in the system tray.

  • ORA-01654: impossible to extend the index error or a bug?

    Hi all

I have a question about the error "ORA-01654: impossible to extend the index schema1024 in tablespace tablespace .index '.

We use Oracle 10 g 2 (10.2.0.4.0) who has a diagram with auto extend feature enabled and more than enough space on the disk (like 130 + GB).

But still, we had this error and it is the third time that happens, what can be the cause and what can we do to fix or is this a bug?

Can you please give more information about the tbsp concerned and its data files?

Even if it's in autoextend, a small file tablespace has a maxsize, and even if you assign unlimited there a maxsize value that depends on the size of your block.

    Kind regards

  • InDesign - Bug in indexing?

For the life of me I can not understand how to fix this minor problem.  I do an index in a book, and it turns out great EXCEPT the commas between the page numbers after each entry index are invisible!  It seems that somehow they are white while the rest of my text is black.

The only way I can fix it must manually, highlight each section and click on the black shade, they reappear.   It is a major pain because my headers are a different color, so I can just highlight without changing their black color.  Whenever I update the index, the invisible white commas ALSO return.  I tried to find the place where this difficulty in the menu styles paragraph, but nothing helped.  I don't know where to another look or why the color for the commas would be set differently from the rest of the text in any case.

Can anyone suggest how I might solve this problem or it's just a strange bug in CS5.5?

Looks like a character style is applied to the commas.

  • bug using dbms_redefinition on table with the altered text index?

I think I can found a bug when you use DBMS_REDEFINITION on a table with a text index that has been modified using ALTER INDEX index-name REBUILD PARAMETERS (REPLACE...). It seems that DBMS_REDEFINITION does not recognize the syntax with REPLACE and redefining fails. However, if I remove the text index and re-create it with all the parameters set during the initial creation and no ALTER INDEX command, then redo the redefinition, it works correctly. I have provided below a script that reproduces the problem, then use workaround mentioned. I have provided a copy of the script and executing the script separately, so that it can be copied and pasted to reproduce the problem. It is a simplification of a problem which has emerged over the diagnosis of a larger problem presented by someone on another forum, where the objective was to perform a loop on a group of tables that meet certain criteria and change some columns varchar2, nvarchar2 columns of these tables, where there are indexes in full text on the other columns in the tables and indexes have been changed using the syntax above. This seems to be a bug or am I missing something or is at - it an easier solution for the redefinition?

No real workaround DBMS_REDEFINITION uses function DBMS_METADATA. GET_DDL() and a string of invalid parameter is returned due to known bugs when you use the ALTER INDEX REBUILD with parameter REPLACE; try to avoid changing the index with REPLACE if you export or use DBMS_REDEFINITION for this table/index.

Note to change the text index metadata, to change the existing class preference, you can use the REPLACE METADATA, IE

    ALTER INDEX i1 REBUILD PARAMETERS ("replace metadata sync (on commit)" ");

Will not rebuild the index so that your DOF is to rebuild the index

ALTER INDEX i1 REBUILD PARAMETERS ('REPLACE SYNC (ON COMMIT)")

    Comments:

The bug was found by students in our SQL courses.
Using a larger database in this course, the bug can be reproduced
    (same question as above) to
    http://www.semwebtech.org/sqlfrontend/
(false: 142 correct answers: 154 replies)

At the course to reduce it to a simple sample, there were a few interesting
comments: try with smaller and simpler tables (without the key)
and synthetic data, the bug not moved immediately. When
Reaffirming the query after about a day, the bug occurred. Obviously,.
Oracle creates indexes on its own internal sound course
optimization that (or more accurately, its use) shows the bug. The
query (shown in SQL Developer) plan was the same before and after.

    Wolfgang

There is a typo in in the test data - GB should probably not be in Sweden. However...

    the bug is not immediately

It is possible. But that would have happened almost certainly, is that execution plan DID change at some point. There are several reasons why it might not be immediate.

Obviously, Oracle creates indexes on its own its internal optimization course

Far from obvious, what are you doing about everything?

The query plan is the same before and after

    You bet it wasn't.

A clear illustration of the issue and the indication that there must be a bug is below.

Simply referring to a different access method, we can change the result. Therefore, a bug.

See [url http://support.oracle.com] Oracle Support and search for "bad results".

Please raise with Support of Oracle to get confirmation of the bug.

There were so many bugs bad results recently, this is getting ridiculous.

    It's a real question, IMHO.

If you can't trust the DB to rectify your data...

Note that the query plan is really NOT the same thing and that's the difference in the query plan that s it is the root cause of the bug.

  • Z - index in the Finder error dialog

My computer restarted overnight after what turned out to be a problem of failure of Wake sleep. After the computer restarts and the connection, I was confronted a small box (shown).

My question concerns whether the app is owner of this dialog box, and where he lives in the command Cmd + Tab (its z-index, lack of better term). I think that it belongs to the inventor. However, Cmd + "(Cycle through Windows in the Finder command) you may not get the dialog box (or report (also presented) error window that appears if you press the button report... ).

If you lose the dialog behind another window, the only way you find it again is to press F9, then select it. And selecting does not bring the Finder to the front (you stay in any app you were in when you press F9).

If you miss the dialog box, you will never see it again, especially if you have lots of windows open.

Not a bug, but just a LOST island as weird window in OS X.

I am not sure what is owner of the window, but I suspect it's to SystemUIServer which controls the right side of the menu bar and a few other things.

I saw the same problem for other reasons, and the only way to get to the window is with Mission control that you noted.

  • solve bugs Pages 5.6.2 or permanently using 4.3

I seem to get weird apostraphe and other data on my pages documents and RELY ON this WORK to get the work done. for over a year it has been a problem on my machines running the mavericks, and then yosemite where I MANUALLY open all my documents pages by selecting 4.3 which seems to show the documents very well.

I tried a number of different ways to get my computers to open these documents ALWAYS WITH 4.3, but nothing seemed to happen. so I'm having constantly to close documents and reopen in 4.3.

then there's a weird extra aggravation where, if I want to reproduce a pages document, I am prompted to update the document 4.3 for some reason any?

at one point, I got a very detailed answer to one person, but to be honest, my brain locked up when someone told me there was another problem with documents pages get damaged when stored on dropbox and I just let fall the whole issue because I was too terrified imagine I've damaged data in dropbox.

Anyway, nobody knows what the State of affairs on the resolution of these horrible instead of workflow problems?

All documents Pages, whether they are those created by the Pages ' 09 v4.3 or Pages v5.6.2, store application in the document as application: Pages.app. Cannot set the application of the opening in the Finder Get Info Panel to always be the Pages ' 09 v4.3, because Pages v5.6.2, which is located in Applications will dominate. And now, you have discovered that documents v5 Pages are not directly compatible with Pages ' 09.

Several years ago, Dropbox to list documents Pages ' 09 no-Package compatible with their site folder. Now, they list no document documents officially supported Apple {Pages, Numbers, Keynote}. Many people store their documents on Dropbox Apple anyway. If the files are lost or damaged, don't expect Dropbox to offer any assistance.

If you download a word docx file in Google Drive, it will remain intact. Download a Pages document and Google Drive will attempt to decompress/unzip the document, because the software of the site has not been programmed to understand that Apple documents are in their final form - like documents of Microsoft.

When you try to open documents v5 Pages in Pages ' 09 v4.3 via the file selector, you will get the information panel that you need a newer version of the Pages. It's just saying you (in a confused way)-that you tried to open a document in Pages v5 inconsistent through the selector of Pages ' 09. You need your version of 5 Pages to open it (via a double-click). Pages ' 09 documents via the document title bar red light closing does not complete Pages ' 09. It will continue to operate and ambush double-click to open documents v5 Pages. He will tell you that any index.xml file missing - a format internal unique in the Pages documents prior to the publication of v5 Pages.

Apple has had three years to fix Pages v5 and not him have not eradicated many bugs or deficiencies in the application. Pages ' 09 v4.3 was abandoned three years ago. It is not a permanent solution as Apple does not take care to avoid damaging this application beyond usability with the next updates of OS X. It's roulette and the history of the processing of Apple solutions.

  • mdworker crashes constantly; Spotlight re-indexes

I searched the internet and all communities, trying to find a solution to my problem of focus. I have posted in some other forums and re - write here in a way more organized these positions as well as additional information.

I recently moved my administrative user account to a former mac via firewire/lightning connection, using the application of migration. Since that time, my iMac, with the last update of El Capitan, has been continuously indexing. It takes hours (I transferred about 500 GB of files), then works OK for a short time and then starts again indexing. I have my hard drive moved into the party 'private life' Spotlight preferences and back, causing the re-indexing. I deleted the Spotlight index and was re - index by terminals of disc used to check my hard drive, used Onyx to rebuild the permissions and Utility Spotlight re-indexing. Spotlight takes a few hours to re - index, seems to work fine for a short period and then begins the reindex operation and is not available for use once more. It completely slowed down my work to a crawl, since I use Spotlight continues to extract and compare files and folders, as well as launch applications.

I noticed on the newspapers of crash mds_stores crashes and have had the crash mdworker almost everyday. SophosWebintelligence crashed on similar, but not always the same days. I deleted the software anti-viral Sophos, placed my hard drive in the section "Confidentiality" of Spotlight prefs to stop continuous indexing, started in safe mode, rebooted my desktop computer, from my hard drive out of the privacy settings, authorized Spotlight AGAIN index my drive hard for the night and thought that my problem was resolved. It lasted a day. It is now the reindexing and crash newspapers are mds_stores crashed again, but now, looking at the Console during indexing, mdworker hangs mili-second per second mili! Under diagnostic reports from users, it lists mdworker_2016 - 06 - _Dorks (several times) - iMac.crash on and under the diagnostic system reports lists mds_stores_2001 - 06-(plusieurs fois) _Dorks - iMac.crash. I also noticed that in the newspapers:

30/06/16 7:10:46.589 AM mdworker [9839]: warning: the selector Gestalt gestaltSystemVersion returns 10.9.5 instead of 10.11.5. This isn't a bug in Gestalt - it is a documented restriction. The NSProcessInfo operatingSystemVersion property to get the correct version number of system.

    Location of the call:

Not sure that the above is the thing most relevant in the newspapers, but never had any problems on my most recent mac until I made the mistake to migrate my account from my old mac user. Don't know what NSProcessInfo is, but you do a search.

If anyone has any suggestions, they would be very appreciated. If any additional info would be useful, I would be happy to do so. I didn't want to post too much useless here and unnecessarily take too much of your time. I apologize for the changes of fonts, but could not figure out how to copy and paste while keeping the same style.

The first step is to get rid of "Sophos," which could be the cause of the problem and that is certainly worse than useless.

Please remove the 'Sophos' product by following the instructions on this page, so this one, if any. If you have a different version, the procedure may be different.

Back up all data before making any changes. Never install a software "anti-virus" or "anti-malware" again.

    Any suggestions?

Do a check with some malware malware, analysis of programs on the Windows computer.

Please scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before scanning.

Alternatively, you can write a check for an infection rootkit TDSSKiller.
