  Twice in the last 2 weeks, my Yahoo contacts disappeared when I went to my PC to compose an email.  The contacts remain on my Blackberry, but it seems that if I have email contact with my BB, the contact is deleted from my PC.  Does anyone know what I can do to keep the two places?

  This looks like a problem with the sync. You have sync on your permit? If so, have you checked the parameters that are used to synchronize? For example there are ways to perform one-way synchronizations to your phone or computer only or two way synchronization in both directions. In addition, it can be defined, how conflicts are handled, etc.

  I know when I Sync both ways, I sometimes had problems like this as well. Sometimes my contacts got replaced or modified - although they have never disappeared. I also had a message, where he told me what happened to contacts, like where they would be modified / added / deleted, etc.

  For me personally it well rather boring and I went with disabling synchronization of contacts. For two main reasons: the contacts on my phone and my e-mail account are fairly well-defined and if/when a new contact is added, it could be added to the time, telephone and account easily and without a lot more lost time and on the other hand, I use Google for my private emails that stores contacts I contacted automatically in the address book. It is a good thing, but I don't need all these contacts on my phone, which is mainly a piece of work. So, if I need such a contact on my phone, I would add it manually.

  Because I need most of my phone contacts on my account mail however, I went to turn on one-way synchronization of phone to the computer, but not the other way around. This way everything I join the phone – for example when I'm on a date with a customer - is added to my Internet account / outlook as well, but not the other way around. For me, since I'll be staying people a lot, I usually in 99% Add people to the phone first and then sync it to the computer... It is very rare that I get to add a contact on the computer first.

  Not sure if this is useful, but I would say to check the synchronization settings and maybe disable them. You can do this by going to the configuration of your email - open the account in question - on the bottom, it says sync - stress here what you want to sync, and do not want to synchronize.

  More on the Desktop Manager you can set if you want to synchronize your BB information and computer and how you want to do. If you do a two-way synchronization, you could for example say BB Desktop Manager doesn't Sync from and to a specific folder. This would avoid the manipulation of contacts who are not in this folder, yet allow you to synchronize your contacts in both directions. You would just have to live with the fact, that it should be allowed in this folder, or copy (perhaps at least significant contacts), the other main folder. This way, they are still in the synchronization file and used to synchronize again and again, yet, they are also in your other file / hand and remain intact.

  I keep getting error messages when you try to send an email from my phone.  Even if I reply to a message I received without problems of someone, I can't answer.  I tried to return.  I have other accounts of mail on this system that allow to send me, but my account email address won't.  Before the latest OS update, error says layer protocol error, now it says "unable to send this message.  try again later.

  Is anyone having this problem, what can I do?

  Hmmm... OK... then try to delete the account (test with only one) and then add it back in. Go ahead and let the Wizard (email address and a password) if she can handle.

  If the problem persists or the account cannot be added through the wizard, use the Advanced Setup and provide the details (server, port, etc.) manually. Check with your supplier that you have the proper... details or check another device (for example, the Outlook client) and replicate the settings there. Also, try POP or IMAP if your provider at the same time.

  Also don't forget to make a stop down and reboot (not a plain restart... a complete stop first)... sometimes that clears up the weird behaviors.

I downloaded the bb world app that import/export of contacts, but can import text or vcf files and not the bbb files.  I downloaded Extractor backup blackberry but was disappointed to see that BB 10 backups are not supported yet.   So I guess you never backed up your phone using BlackBerry Protect, or you did.

  If you did, you can install your contacts from there.

  If you do not, think to do for next time.

  The only option would be to select the Edit on the contact option and hold your finger on the number and select the option copy on the left hand side.

  You can use http://www.blackberry.com/developers/docs/6.0.0api/net/rim/blackberry/api/menuitem/ApplicationMenuIt... to add a menu item to some system applications, for example the address book. you get a context object, in a BlackberryContact, you can process or use the address book.

  Open the address book in the old identity and file | Export | Address book (wab) to any location on your HARD drive that is easy for you. The office is very well. Then drag that to the flash drive.

  In IE: File | Import and export | Export to a file. Check Favorites | Next | Next | Navigate to a folder or the desktop and export. Drag the folder in the flash player.

  For photos, just right-click on the folder and drag it to the USB and copy here.
