Z420: Z420 different revisions?

Hi all

Question

Are there two different revisions of the platform Z420 as with the Z400?

I have two different pdf for this product and a list of the Sandy Bridge E5 Xeons with 1600 Mhz memory and another inscription Ivy Bridge E5 V2 Xeons with 1866 Mhz memory?

How can we identify one from the other?

Is this the same motherboard and just a BIOS revision that opened the compatibility with these processors and memory?

Yes, there are two versions, the original "Version 1" and the "Version 2".  The original can run the Sandy Bridge Xeon processors that HP certified for it.  Version 2 can run the Sandy Bridge and more recent processors Ivy Bridge "v2".  A nice little article on the differences between these two generations of processors is linked below.  Again, assuming that you have a newer version Z420 you can generally only Sandy and Ivy processors listed by HP Brige can due to the firmware BIOS limitations built-in (there are rare exceptions):

http://www.PCMag.com/Article2/0, 2817,2405317,00.asp

A trick that works for most HP workstations is to search, for example, 'Z420 spare parts' in Google.

Top results you see HP for that and noted in chapter of the processors of the Z420 there 700000 part number processors series with IB (Ivy Bridge) in the front as the available processors.  Note also to the bottom in the section below is a couple of 700000 motherboards part numbers.  This is the later Version 2 ones.  Le-001 is delivered by W7 installed. the largest number to W8.

I do not have the date of the BIOS boot block simple differentiation between Version 1 to Version 2 for the Z420, but it's the best way to know if you have a.  The dates of start for Z620 and Z820 block are 28/12/11 for the original and on 06/03/13 for Version 2 motherboards.  Look in your BIOS under the first tab for this... Your Z420 may not have the exact dates, but should be close, and you'll know that.

So, if you focus on the QuickSpecs and HP literature since the beginning of the era of 2013 you will start seeing Ivy Bridge being designated processors.

You can watch the Intel 'Ark' site under the approved HP v2 processors to see if there is only 1 sSpec code, and if so, you can be sure you are buying a used the same processor upgrade eBay to if you go this route.  Search on eBay under the sSpec code when you found on the site of the Ark... it will be linked at bottom left of the cover page for each processor that you are looking for.

I upgraded processors in Z400/Z600 workstations, but not yet a workstation ZX20.  Even proceeded, I'm sure, just more expensive.

  • Tecra M2 - question compatibility motherboard

    Hey all,.

Lighter, I'll have to make a replacement motherboard on a Tecra M2. The unit is put under tension but with no video, so I'm assuming that I'm interested in the usual situation of gpu Nvidia faulty. However, I will only have access to the laptop for a few days, which is not really enough to confirm the part number of the Board of Directors and have a replacement shipped.

I know that you should not order parts without knowing the exact reference, but I've been watching M2 tips on Ebay and there seems to be 2 or 3 different revisions of the Board of Directors. I was wondering if anyone knows if these revisions are compatible with each other? BY EXAMPLE if I can exchange the jury with a job that has a different reference number?
In addition, some of the sellers say that the M2 takes DDR where, like this it takes DDR2. No one knows about it? Can someone give me a part number for one of the panels of the DDR2?

Obveously I would not normally order a replacement card without looking at the number of piece, but as above, I hope I will be able to order the Board, get it shipped here where is the laptop and make a trade. I know this might be a ram or problem LCD but in view of the short time I have, I think it is probably best to assume the worst and order a Board - I screens spare and ram that I can use if she goes not not up to being the Board of Directors.

Any help from someone who knows the motherboards in these units would be great.

    See you soon.
Edit: I have scene than a few s M3 on ebay need some parts so I can transplant all the work items in an M3 if nobody knows the Council. Does anyone know if the cover & screen from a M2 will be fit? Cover of the M2 was not UM... custom slightly so that the user will probably want to preserve.

    Hey Buddy,

I think that in this case, you need a professional response of guys they have access to the database of spare parts Toshiba and this cannot be done from an authorized service provider. Here he s just a forum user to user where you can talk with normal people like you and me, and that I can see, nobody changes motherboard on Tecra M2 because nobody posted a response.

In any case, you should contact the technicians. Give them the exact reference of your laptop model, and they can find what motherboard fits or not.

  • Codes on the recovery disks

    Hello

Where I work, we have a large number (about 30 currently, but constantly increasing) of the Satellite Pro A100s and A200s, but we keep all media recovery together. Outside of a few disks for the A100s I marked as such when remove them boxes, none of them have any indication of what model, they are for. I realized also since there are different revisions of each model that seem to have slightly different hardware (for example, I tried to re-imaging an A200 PSAE1E using a recovery for a PSAE4E disc, but this image does not seem to contain the management system for the 1st Bus drivers). I downloaded and installed the correct drivers, but still, it would be useful to know what codes on the discs what revisions of what models.

    The codes are:

    GMR400709EN1 (2007)
    GMR400787EN1 (2007)
    GMR400784EN1 (2007, A100)
GMR400629EN0 (2006; delivered in a plastic case instead of a sleeve of paper and a key for Microsoft Onenote 2003 on the back)
GMR400626EN1 (2006; delivered in a plastic case instead of a sleeve of paper and a key for Microsoft Onenote 2003 on the back)
PMR400518EN0 (2006; delivered in a plastic case instead of a sleeve of paper and a key for Microsoft Onenote 2003 on the back)

    Thank you very much

    Ansel.

    Hello Ansel

I guess you know very well that for the info, someone should have access to the internal database of Toshiba. This is the forum user and chances to get these information are not so big. Before you wait here I recommend you to contact the nearest Toshiba authorized service partner.

They have access to the database of Toshiba and I'm sure they can help you 100%. I have P200 and number of mine recovery DVDs will not help at all.

    Good luck!

  • authenticity of hp spare parts

How I come to know that, the alternative presented by HP technician speakers are authentic. ??

    Thnx.

Well... usually each piece for computer laptop/Tablet/etc has two numbers on it (or box part entered).

one is the number of product (P/N)...usually ends in - B21, the second number is a number of spare parts (SP) of the usually ending by a - xxx, where xxx is a number (for ex-001).)

The first is indicating a number of option, the second is identical to the original replacement.

The first number may be different from the original part (different manufacturing, different revision, etc.), but the number of MS will be the same. This issue of alternatives is what used HP Tech/engineer to order a spare part for your problem, and that you (the customer/consumer) ensures that the repair will put your laptop/Tablet/server back, etc. for the specifications of original (or better).

  • HP dv7-6c47cl: Radeon HD 7690 M XT and HP dv7-6c47cl

My computer laptop dv7 works, for the most part, completelly very well. Granted, I have sent in for repair several times... and honestly I have no doubt that I'll have to again.

The main concern with this is that dreaded dedicated graphics card. The Radeon HD 7690 M XT graphics card is pretty much the reason all first, I bought this computer. So I can play games on my computer. Initially, it was great and I used to play games on the highest quality without problem.

Now, I cannot play the same games on the lowest significant quality without lag and experience very strains. The Intel graphics card does a better job turning the games! It's outrageously frustrating, because it's the main reason that the computer was purchased in the first place!

I know that there is a problem with the driver update, and I am convinced that is the reason why I can't play the same games as I could when I bought the computer with the same performance. I factory restored my computer and stripped to essential programs only to run, so it's not the question. IT IS THAT I CANNOT GET A DRIVER.

I know that other people have exactly the same problem as I am. But I can't find ANYWHERE that someone has found a way around the fact that HP will not provide of the graphics drivers up-to-date official. AMD publishes version 14, and HP still provides only version! Batman, Whiskey tango Foxtrot!

Can someone give me a hand? I would like to at least play my Skyrim daggon on low quality without a dizzying shift.

    Hello

You might consider would be to try the switchable graphics custom offers avaiable on the following link - I never used these on a very limited number of machines, but they seem to work pretty well for Intel 3000 / 7690M graphics multiplex XT.  I would always advise to create a system image (or restore point at least a windows system) before - you can also try different revisions, that personally, I don't find always the absolute latest version gave the best performance.

    http://leshcatlabs.NET/

Note:  I strongly suggest you read the guide on how to install these drivers correctly.  It is also important to note that the driver signature enforcement is disabled so that these drivers to load, - more details can be found here.

  • PCI-MXI-2 causes w/SP3 Windows XP Pro to freeze

Here are the specifications of the test machine which is the gel with the PCI-MXI-2.

    Motherboard: C7P67 (supermicro)

Mobo has no embedded video so I've tried three different cards PCIe...

Currently installed: Geforce GT 430 DDR3

RAM: VS2GB1333D3 total (Corsair): 8 GB RAM

    PSU: 550W

    No other devices are installed.

We have 2 cards PCI-MXI-2 and the two freeze Windows XP Pro w/SP3 at startup.

It gets to the desktop and then, about 30 seconds everything is frozen, unresponsive keyboard/mouse, nothing...

Removing the PCI-MXI-2 causes the operating system to work properly.

I installed the NIVXI331 software for the driver. We tried an another C7P67 motherboard, same problem.

I also tried different revisions of the BIOS as well as the latest BIOS for the motherboard, the same question.

We are trying to solve this problem with this particular motherboard (C7P67) for our client.

I have read the manual for the PCI-MXI-2 card and the rocking U17 matches what is on the card for a 'normal' functioning (1, 2, 3 switches are "off" with the exception of switch 4 "CT")

I also tried the two PCI expansion slots are available on the motherboard, the same question.

    Any suggestions please? Thank you!

Thanks for your response! For some reason, the cards work now with the motherboard. Nothing has changed.

    It was strange.

  • Report Generation Toolkit missing VI

    LabVIEW version 8.6.1

    Report Generation Toolkit 1.13

I just started work on an ongoing project that others have contributed to during some time.  (This is why the project being in older versions of LabVIEW)

On my PC, apparently miss me VI "Word get ActiveX References.vi"

I have the version 1.13 of the installed tool, just like all other machines running this code performs.  But my word.llb only contains VI

I tried to copy just that VI in the .llb the VI is then found by the application.  But is not executable due to this error: this VI is related to a library that does not include the VI. The VI may have been removed from the library. ' Add the VI to the library or select file "unplug library.

I also tried to replace my C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\LabVIEW all 8.6\vi.lib\addons\_office\ the directory with the files from a PC that worked.  Yet once, I get the same error as above.

I tried to do a repair on my installation of the box tool.  But as far as I know, it did nothing.

I also tried just reinstalling the Toolbox.  But since that it has been already installed, it did nothing.  I would hesitate to uninstall and reinstall the Toolbox for fear of breaking all my 8.6 projects, as well as perhaps my 2009 projects.  I don't think that he messes with my 2009 installation.  But I know the order in which things are installed can be critical in the system with several versions.  I don't know if this applies to tool boxes or not.

This PC also has a LV 2009 SP1 installation, and this version also has the Report Generation Toolkit installed. (even if it is a different revision of the Toolbox as 1.13)

I know that in the past, several versions of this toolbox were not compatible, which means that a single version of LabVIEW installed might have a job Report Generation Toolkit installed.  But I have been in agreement that it was no longer a problem.  Although it may not be a coincidence that none of the other boxes development runs this code are not installed LV 2009 have.

Anyone who has encountered a similar problem and found a solution?

    Thank you.

Before that we unified the version numbers of LabVIEW and toolkit (in 2009), there are cases where it has not changed the version number in the registry for one reason or another on a minor update.  So very well may have installed 1.1.4 and it can still say 1.1.3.  However, assuming that 1.1.4 has been installed, I can't imagine any reason why Word get ActiveX References.vi wouldn't be here.  VI lives at vi.lib\addons\_office\word.llb, so after installation from 1.1.4 to your folder of LabVIEW 8.6, check that the VI is actually there.

Today I formatted my laptop computer and changed the OPERATING SYSTEM Windows 7 (64 bit) (Ultimate Edition)

  • Original SIPURA SPA 3000 help

Five years ago, that I bought, directly from SIPURA, a new SPA-3000. I've never used but now I want to set up, but I want to make sure it has the latest firmware. I looked at the Linksys site (because any attempt to access www.sipura.com is redirected to Linksys) and found the firmware for the SPA-3000. Can someone tell me if this is the same unit as mine or changed from the original and the firmware does not work on mine?

I tried to contact Linksys technical support, but their automated system tells me that I need to contact the dealer, who ironically is Linksys, since they bought Sipura. When I get to a real person that they just repeat that I have to contact the dealer of origin, they won't listen to me telling them that they are now the dealer.
Can someone help and tell me what is the latest version of the software for this device and where I can download it? The configuration GUI displays the following information:
    Software version: 2.0.13 (GWg)
    Hardware Version: 2.0.1 (7067)

    Thank you

Hello bsdaiwa, Yes this is the same unit. SPA-3000 has never really produced by Linksys, they later produced SPA-3102 units. Anyway, regardless of the producer of the unit (SPA or Linksys), they are able to use the same firmware.

I myself have 2 pieces of SPA-1001 units, the 'old' box of Sipura, Linksys 'new' box, each of them having different revision HW and the two hapily run the same firmware 3.1.19 (SE) Linksys pages.

Also, the SPA-xxxx units are protected from the flash of the incompatible firmware (for example from a different camera model), unit load the firmware first to the RAM, then check the "signature" FW, and that if it is the corresponding FW "signature" then unit flashes it it's rom flash and reboot.

  • Upgrade processor PowerEdge SC1430

    I have a SC1430 with the processor Xeon 5110 (dual core 1.6)

I bought a X 5355 (quad core 2.66) because it was on a few lists of processors supported, some on these forums.

But when I installed the processor that it displayed but then stopped, saying it was incompatible.

I went back to google and found a post saying that there are different versions of the card mother sc1430 and old does not support the hearts. But then another message saying there aren't any different revisions of the motherboard and you just need to update the firmware. Ive updated the BIOS to 1.4, but this still does not work. I then found a third post saying 'I' (printed on the front panel) version only supprts demspey and woodcrest and that 'II' also supports clovertown.

I think I discovered that the x 5355 does not work with my computer, but it would be good if someone could resolve the confusion that I know which is the cpu, compatible for my SC1430.

    Thank you

    Hello

    DevaVictrix
I went back to google and found a post saying that there are different versions of the card mother sc1430 and old does not support the hearts. Support for the quad-core on the SC1430 Clovertown processors requires a map of most recent revision system, is not simply an update of the BIOS to add Clovertown support to the original system board that has been released.

There are also minimum BMC and BIOS revisions that are needed to support the Clovertown CPUs. There are minimum version requirements based on the CPU stepping.

Systems shipped with a motherboard that supports the Clovertown processors will have a Roman numeral two on the right side of the collar.

  • U2515H twinkle in multiple monitor Configuration

I have a similar problem as reported here: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/peripherals/f/3529/t/19626679

We have a problem with a 4, NVidia NVS 510 and 4 monitors Dell U2515H monitor configuration.  The monitors are connected via a cable HDMI/mdp.  Usually, a single monitor flickers at the beginning of each day and last for several hours before stabilizing.  Sometimes, a couple of monitors will wavers. We have a restart every night which takes place at 02:00.  All the device drivers and chipset are up-to-date.

No indication of the potential causes?

Given that each monitor is connected to its own port of video card, have you checked that each monitor has disabled DP 1.2?

And the problem watching a different revision of A0x work are expensive?

  • Has no updated BIOS - Dell XPS 8500

I went to the product page Dell for my computer - Dell XPS 8500 and ran the scan to check the updates.  3 updates, one of them for the BIOS.  I ran the update and launched the update of the BIOS.  To halfway through she seemed to have hung up and my machine froze.  I left for an hour, came back and no still no luck.

So I rebooted the machine, and of course now it does not start upward.  I have power and can hear the fan but no lights on the box and no input screen.

Looking in the manual and on this forum, I tried to reset the BIOS jumpers and remove the CMOS battery.  When I rebooted I saw lights on the box this time, but it stops after 30 seconds and now back to the same problem.

From what I've read on this forum I'm SOL unless I have buy a new motherboard.

Just thought I would check to see if anyone has any other suggestions.  If not, where can I get a new motherboard for this?  The product page for my model it does not list as an option...

    Thanks for your help!

    Jason

When your warranty has expired? If it has expired less than 6 months ago, you pourriez able to get Dell to solve this problem, assuming they can get the Board of Directors. They had a policy to replace a Board - only once - if she does not have a Dell BIOS update within 6 months after the end of the warranty. I don't know if this policy still exists.

Those are all different revisions of the same motherboard. I don't know what the differences are. They could be as simple as a different provider for one of the components on the card all the way to a change in the circuit layout.

Maybe Dell spare parts can talk you about the differences among the 3 or at least tell you which is the most recent revision, even if they do not have boards the...?

All three supports H77 chipset which is a key issue.

Look at your motherboard for the thumbnail see what version you have now. If you don't know the specific differences, you can get one that is the same version, assuming that it is one of the possible choices.

You should look elsewhere if the Impact is not the revision you want and/or for price comparisons. And always ask if the Board is new, used, refurbished and warranty.
