  Now, if you have the drive and you have lost your password it is very simple.

  1 start the computer and try to enter the password on the Windows login screen

  2. the password is incorrect message opens, and from there, you can select ok

  3. once the screen goes away, a new screen appears with an option to reset the password.

  4. follow the instructions on the screen and use the password reset disk to reset your password

  Change your password to a different user account

  If you have multiple user accounts, and at least one of these other accounts have administrator rights, then you can reset your password from the other account. The password of this account may be necessary, then you can check with the owner of the account.

  I just bought a second hand Cisco 2821. There is a game of password and the password recovery feature is disabled.

  A bit of searching around shows that you can reset the router to the factory default configuration by pressing pause at the right time.

  My problem is that this process does not work. I press pause and get prompt reset factory, I press on 'y', but the router everything continues to load the startup configuration.

  Recovery installation is very simple and you can do it whenever you want. Important is that your laptop to factory settings. Simply follow the link posted by Feliks.

  I did a restore using the Recovery Manager and first backed up the data of the user, as recommended by the recovery program, is a successful factory restore then tried to restore the backup of the user data. Backup on the restored computer programs did not recognize the backup of the user data... None of the programs on the recognized backup computer.  The user data is stored on a flash drive and it did in fact save something (5.6 GB) in a folder called "backup files 2013-01-24 093021" on the flash drive.  What program do you use to restore user data?

  It must be an .exe file in the folder on the flash drive to restore the files. Not sure what the name of it is, Restore.exe, Recovery.exe... If you do not see file extensions, go to control panel, folder options, and uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types". Locate the flash drive for the .exe file. Click on it to run it and it must extract the files to a folder on the laptop.

  I rarely send zipped files. I used to have WinZip on my old computer. My generic desktop minitower PC has XP Pro, SP3, Office 2003. (In addition, awhile back I upgraded to Office 2007 but found totally lame and went back to 2003). A few reciepents some PDF files of architectural plan say they can not open my files when I send them with 7-zip. Sometimes it is 30-60 page pdf construction plans.

  I had a complete picture of software on my old desktop that came with the computer called "Phoenix Firstware Recovery Pro 2004". This program has been fabulous! He saved BOTH OF TIME. It's a hard disk recovery program that you can do a restore point whenever you want, as much as you want. It is similar to the Windows restore, but it affects all of the C drive. If problems occur, it brings back your computer to this day & time in time. Anything after that; is not serious.   Viruses, Trojans, Malware, Spyware, lost the wrong files, lost images, messy music files, programs, bad mistakes, window crashes, Etc is not QUESTION. It restarts the computer at this point good & all returns at the point of return. I had my computer that had started not even Windows from the BIOS come right to the top. You can access the program by pressing the key F4 to the BIOS & restore all restore points, you did. NOW, remember that anything after this point is gone for good, (eg. photos, music files, documents, programs, changes to anything.) So, we must remember what has done or changed since restore point & redo them. But it is worth gold to get this computer up without the need to restore to the day you bought your computer & reload everything back in.

  I tried retrack Phoenix Firstware & can not find someone who knows what I'm talking about. I do not know if their doing even this GOLD one program similar to Windows 10. What I was looking for is a similar program for my new laptop HP Notebook. Anyone got any useful information the same day or a similar program that works just as well, if not better.

  @RobertMcD: Sorry no one not returned to you before that...

  But, what you need is a third-party imaging/restoration program known as Macrium reflect (MR).  This provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

  What I recommend is the following:
  (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
  (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
  (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

  NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

  I've used this for years, since Acronis True Image failed me when I needed it the most need.  I have restored the machines repeatedly with it, and now the free version includes the ability to install a start function of recovery on your hard drive that you can do a restore without having to use DVD or USB.
