The good news is that you can simply delete the "install Mac OS X" install app in the Applications folder on your Mac.   To close the tool manually pane first, then navigate to the Edit-> Preferences-> Documents menu-> uncheck "pane open tools for each document.

  Click OK to confirm the changes and restart the application.
