ZR2240w display: LCD IPS LED or TFT?

Hello. I'm considering the purchase of two HP ZR 2240w poster but I find conflicting information on this display model. In most of the information provided in the HP Web sites this display appears as a screen technology IPS LED but when I download the guide of the user on the site of HP, the specifications page shows the display as having facilitated TFT LCD. I'm not an expert, but I think they are different technologies.

I contacted HP pre-sales support that was not prepared to help. I have also contacted HP chat support that claim not to have the tools to help me. Can someone clear this up for me?

Thank you.

P.S.This thread has been moved from Macintosh compatible products for monitor-HP Forums Moderat

TFT LCD is the block of building modern flat-screen basis. It is based on a liquid crystal display using transistors in thin film deposited on a glass substrate. These transistors are switching of liquid crystals that either allows the light to pass or block light to pass through the liquid crystals. Light is produced by the CRTS or the leds and it goes through red, green and blue filters that are sitting on each pixel of void. In this way the display can create color.

There are different types of screens LCD TFT, TN (twisted numatics) is commonly used by players as it passes very fast power pixels, so there is little or no ghosting, IPS (In Plane Switching) is commonly used where angles with wide vision accurate colors are more important than the switching speed (ghosting).

Thus, calling something a TFT LCD screen is always accurate. An LCD IPS the call display something is even more specific that the TFT LCD display type is specified. Say that a display uses IPS LED technology is also more accurate that you specify the TFT LCD technology and lighting technology.

But calling something a LED screen is not exactly true that the current state of the display technology means we are really talking a TFT LCD screen with backlight LED and not individual RGB LED that comprise the sub-pixels in a display. A true LED display is a legacy emissive subpixels emerge from the colorful light, rather than having a low glow similar to colorful shutters something light.  When you hear LED poster today, consider that there marketing speak for TFT LCD display with LED backlighting

If you are interested, the TFT LCD wiki can probably explain more about the technology that I can always hope.

So back to the ZR2240, if the specifications say the display uses IPS LED technology, it must have good angles of vision and color reproduction and using of LED backlight it will use much less energy, so cold to the touch. (Compare this to my Dell U2711 is a panel IPS 27 "and using cathode ray tubes, so it becomes very hot and uncomfortable when you're sitting in front of two of these monitors for long periods).

Also, the fact that the user guide indicates that the TFT LCD is without real consequence in the present document focuses more on the cable to the top and use the monitor, which is always a TFT LCD after all, that of property to specify the type and the capacity of this TFT LCD IPS monitor that uses LED backlighting.

  • his IPS LED backlit screen 27vc: could not find a way to mount 27vc 27 "IPS LED monitor

I recently bought the 27 "and 22" HP vc IPS LED backlit monitors. My intention was to mount them on a mount for two monitors that clips to the back of my desk or on the wall. Every company in the world sells the same media/materials for double monitors, but all have the traditional media that has 4 screw holes. Vc monitors do not have the ability to accept this type of Mount. I tried to call HP customer service and am redirected more than 5 times to the representatives who had no idea how mount it and didn't have an adapter. It is impossible that it is impossible to mount these monitors. Anyone know of a replacement product or an adapter that I can use to ride together?

    Hello

HP has monitors with standard VESA mounting holes. My suggestion: take it to the shop and swap for the one that supports standard VESA otherwise must a good skill and a good drill.

  • HP ENVY i7 Desktop 700-311: is the 23-inch monitor screen IPS LED - lighting compatible with HP ENVY Desktop 700-311 HP Pavilion?

I recently bought the hp with i7 proceessor envy and I want to know if the 23 inch screen IPS LED - lighting HP Pavilion monitor will be compatible with i7 ENVY 700-311 HP Desktop processor?

Until the entry of the screen is the viudeo output which is available on the desktop PC, it will be compatible. The dekstop PC has VGA and DVI outputs. Just use a cable that allows you to connect both devices and you'll get the video.

I see that the screen has both. I highly recommend the digital video input instead of the VGA NICU.

You will need a DVI cable.

  • Displays LCD and Postgre

    Hello

Can I use Postgre with LCD screens?

    Thank you!

Displays LCD has no built-in dependence on data bases, and so you can use a database that you like. Please note that some functions like the Hibernate assembler and the assembler of fiber based on the Hibernate. So any limitation regarding the databases is limited by Hibernate to the database underlying support.

  • Output display on TV LED to DisplayPort on zbook 15

    Hello

    I have a portable zbook 15 product D5H42AV.

On this laptop, I have a DisplayPort output and Thunderbolt.

I bought on the market (not HP) DisplayPort adapter to HDMI.

I can't get the result displayed on my TV (full HD) LED.

If the adapter supports only DisplayPort 1.1 and 1.2 not?

I want to see the screen on TV, I'll use a DisplayPort adapter or an adapter Thunderbolt?

Is it possible to troubleshoot why can I not print output to the TV from my laptop?

I solved the problem. The adapter was working fine.

The problem was a faulty HDMI cable. I'm trying to connect my DVD player to the TV with the same cable and I realized that the cable did not work. It was something I wasn't expecting.

I replaced the cable and everthing very well now.

    Kind regards.

  • Inspecting a display LCD through the acrylic glass

    Hello

I need to inspect a liquid crystal under a sheet of acrylic glass display. The camera and the lighting of the ring are mounted perpendicular to the screen. The problem are the reflections of the acrylic glass plate. P1234 (upper left) shows that. Then I tried a polarisation on the lens filter and could reduce the reflections, only a little, but also myself distortion of acrylic glass (right upper P1234; ignore the sheet on the acrylic glass). The next step was to place a further polarisation on my Flash filter. First of all, I turned the filter on the lens so that I had the best contrast of the screen and transformed subsequently lightning with the second filter so that reflections were minimal. The reflection was still too light for I can't inspect my screen.

Because of the perpendicular frame of lightning, I get thinking. So I tried to keep the lightning to another position and could achieve the best images (P1234 in lower left) but also shadows because the screen is mounted a few millimeters under the acrylic glass. P1234 (bottom right) shows the screen LCD lit on both sides and I think the result is very quiet. Don't you think that a substantive correction could improve this result?  Or should I use another system of lightning (Dome with coaxial Lightning)?

What can offer me my to solve my problem?

Lighting on both sides should give good results, as long as the lights are out on the side far enough.  The image seems good.

Another possibility is to indirect lighting.  Put a large white area broadcasting on location camera, with a hole for the camera to look through.  Bounce light on the white surface to turn on the LCD screen.

  • Y560 cracked screen - replacing the screen LCD or LED?

    Hello

This can be a very basic question but I have no idea on the issues of material, so I hope someone here can help me - my Lenovo Y560 screen broke with a huge crack on the screen. I need to replace it now, but I don't know whether to go for an LED screen or an LCD screen. Some sellers have contacted me telling me that I need a replacement of light 'paper', while others said that the replacement would be a 'screen '. Prices they proposed for the LED and LCD replacement is Rs 3500 and 5500 Rs respectively.

Should which screen I go for? Help, please! Thank you in advance.

  • Display LCD with Windows 7 problem

Since I installed Windows 7, my LCD seems 'shift' from time to time so that all graphics, icons, etc. are blurred, looking as if half of the image is moved to the right or the left.

I tried to run video, and other display settings of bugs on my card and no problems are detected.

    What else could be?

    Try:

-map updated graphics drivers and the monitor to the latest Windows 7 of those.

-Search in the manual of your monitor and find its native resolution and refresh rate (for example, 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz). Try these settings.

-Check that the video cable is plugged at both ends.

    -a different video cable.

-check that the graphics card has been inserted in its housing.

If you post back please provide the following information. :

    -graphics card brand & model

    -monitor & model making

-used video connection type (e.g., DVI, HDMI, VGA)

-The version of Windows you are using (e.g. Windows 7 Home Premium 32 - Bit).

  • Laptop display LCD HP G72

I have a HP G72 laptop.  The display has become cluttered with contrast colored pixels.  White background becomes fine turquoise blue lines.  When you type in Word or Excel, the display is not clean.  When connecting to an external monitor there is a clear display of colors.  I reinstalled the latest version of BIOS and a video driver with no result.  Do I need to buy a new LCD?

If I need a replacement, should what number I?  Reference number given by the HP Support is not as much as my screen.  HP support says B173RW01 while the part number on the back of the actual display is NTA 173KT01 and the SAMSUNG brand name.

    Yes, it's probably about Billboard.

  • change the display LCD R60 - compatibility issue

Hello I need to change my 15 "R60 sxga display, as it is used is dying. After searching some information on screens thinkpad I'm confused. Thinkwiki mentions R60 has LG - Philips LP150E07, but I am unable to find such screen. So I wonder if LP150E05 (probably LP150E05-A2K1) of the N150P3-L01 of T43 T60 will work without problems. I have found that to replace poster may nequire the EDID Flash, but I don't know how I could do and where to find the needed firmwares. Could someone enlighten me on this?

LCD for R60 will work in the T60, while the LCD from the T43 only works in the T60 with a mod EDID.

  • Display (LCD & external) does not

    Hello

I have a HP NC6400, who gave me a service of quality for many years. Recently the LCD edge and external screens have stopped working.  At the start, they will be flashing for a while but then the external screen goes black and the on-board LCD is very dull.  It began as an intermittent problem that can often be resolved with a reboot, but now it is persistent.

Read, many of these responsed here, I thought that it could be the inverter, but in all cases it would appear that the external display was still working. The external screen does not work on my system to be connected directly or via a docking station.

    Reflections?

It turns out that both the interal displays and the external screen were defective (separate defects). I have fixed an in-house with a new inverter.  I have replace the external display.
