    Hi John,.

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community Forum, please be assured that we would do our best to help you.

Please answer the question that helps us provide a better solution.

You try to perform a custom (clean) installation or a Windows 7 upgrade installation?

This error is an access denied error which is caused by programs such as CD/DVD burning software and security software. I suggest you to uninstall the security software and burning software that is installed on the system and check if you are able to upgrade the system. In addition to this, I suggest you install and run Windows 7 upgrade advisor on the system and check. See the article mentioned below.

Installation may stop if the system cannot copy files. Here are some possible causes and solutions for this problem:

Method 1: Your Windows installation disc is scratched, smudged, or dirty.

Clean the disc with a soft cloth, insert it in the CD or DVD drive, and then start the Windows installation again. If your installation disc is damaged, you may need to replace it. For more information, go to how to replace lost, broken, or missing Microsoft software or hardware on the Microsoft Web site.

Method 2: Your CD-ROM or DVD drive is not working properly or the disk might be vibrating too much for the laser correctly read data.

For more information about this problem, see your hardware documentation or contact the manufacturer of the CD or DVD drive.

Method 3: If your computer has multiple CD or DVD drives, your computer may attempt to locate files on the wrong drive.

If your computer has a feature to disable CD or DVD drives that are not used, turn off readers that you don't use. Otherwise, try to insert the disc in a different drive, and then restart the installation.

Method 4: There is a virus on your computer.

Run an antivirus program to scan your system and to identify the necessary repairs. Don't forget to disable the antivirus before you start the installation again.

Method 5: Windows could not create a required installation folder. Error code: 0x80070005

    Hi JRCLNSIN100,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forums.

We would like to get some more information from you to help solve your problem. You better, please answer the following questions.

    ·         What is the disk you use to reinstall?

    ·         Is this a recovery or reinstalling the disc you are using?

  • 0x8007000D activation error code

I learn once more that I have 3 days to activate Windows 7 RC (32 bit).  When I try to do, I got the error code (invalid data).  He suggests to call but when I do, I am returned to this forum.  I tried different product codes when I start the download process, but none works.  I went through the approach slui 4 with the same results.  I even tried changing the registry id to match the codes that Microsoft provided. When I get the phone number, the second section page, who should have something to offer an agent are just integers from 1 to 9.

When this happened 30 days ago, I was able to do something that postponed the deadline of 30 days, but I don't remember what I did or I would do.

Should I uninstall Windows 7?  can I reinstall it if I do?  It is currently installed as an upgrade to Vista professional.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Repeated error codes: 80073712 and 800 b 0100 update SP2 and Vista security update

I have recently reinstalled Windows Vista, and I'm constantly getting error codes when I try to download the updates. So far, I found solutions for all of them, but I can't find solutions for the updates listed below.

I thought that maybe the old files make it difficult for Windows to date.

    Information on my computer:
System model: Compaq Presario CQ 50 Notebook.
Name of the operating system: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic
    Version: 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 Build 6002
    System type: X 86-based PC

    Error Codes and updates include:
    1. Update for Vista (KB979559) - error Code: 80073712

2 Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 update for Windows Vista Service Pack 2 and Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 (KB974470) - error Code: 800 b 0100

Another thing is, whenever I try to download these updates, my computer always wants me to reboot.

I tried following instructions to solve the problem of error code found on the Microsoft Solutions:
    1. I have disabled the firewall PC Tools Antivirus and Windows. Tried to download again and no luck.
    2. I ran the Microsoft FixIt "System Update Readiness Tool", and he said he couldn't find any problems.
    3. I've been through the tool administrator CMD System File Checker, and he says "not found any breach of integrity.

Yesterday, I tried to download SP2 from Windows Update, and I got the error code: 8024200d. I then downloaded from the Microsoft Web site, and it worked fine. I tried to download the SP2 update on the site, and it failed.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
    Thank you!
    Tonya

Hi, can you please help. I have problems with the installation of the updates and software on my laptop: -.

I restored my laptop to factory default, but the problem has not been fixed. I still have the same problem but also, I'm unable to download programs such as Java or AVG (before I tried MSE), I get messages affecting either corrupted files or editors unknown/certificates. I have had these problems for more than a week now, actually both my laptop and my desktop partners have the same problems.

After spending hours searching these forums, I found another user who seems to have the same problems as me and monitoring of the solution developed for example disk cleanup; SFC.exe then checkdisk but the problems have not been resolved. The log of the SFC.exe suggested that some corrupt files could not be repaired and I looked at the results, but to be honest I have no idea what to do about it. The result of checkdisk returned clean well.

We managed to get a copy of AVG from a CD and run a full scan on the laptop and desktop and no viruses have been detected. The only items listed were cookies of track that have been removed or repaired and 2 items on my laptop Advisor broken digital certificates.
