Someone at - he already had this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Try to reduce the amount of RAM installed on a unique key and try again.

If you have several hard drives attached, disconnect all except the disk target hard.

If you have compatible hardware and your computer still stops responding, disable any unnecessary material. Remove (USB) universal serial bus devices. Remove or disable network cards, sound cards and cards of the series; and then restart the installation.

  • 0x800F0826 error code when you install Windows Vista Service Pack 1

I bought Adobe Creative Suite CS4, so the installer tells me that I am in need of Vista Service Pack 1 to continue to install the programs. So, naturally, I go online and try to find the Service Pack 1. Mind you, I was never even offered the service pack via Windows Update... I wasn't even aware that they came out with ALL the service packs for Windows Vista. I am running Home Premium, by the way.

So find a download of the Service Pack and it ends after about an hour and a half. I'm going to install the service pack, and everything seems to go well until a few hours later when I get back to my computer and I have a message waiting on my office saying that the installation has failed. I studied the error code I received online (0x800F0826), and I noticed that a lot of people said it had to do with the updates that had already failed to install on Windows Update. Well, a lot of commentators on the issue suggested looking in Windows Update history and are looking for any updates. Well, it turns out that I have TONS that had failed in the past. I read that the updates that had a different other than 0x800F0826 error code were probably the cause of the problem. Well, they ALL have a different other than 0x800F0826 error code.

What I noticed though, is that all have the error code: 80070057. I was eager to get a glimpse of this problem pretty quickly because I have a class to come within 10 days that requires the use of Adobe CS4 software and I can not install it until I get the service pack work! Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you.

    Hi notpaul,
If you have not yet resolved this so I will answer your questions regarding upgrade\restore.  If you have a bunch of updates failed and are not offered SP1, the faster would be to do a factory restore.  Then immediately, run Windows Update until you are offered are no longer updated.  Then you can reinstall the programs and data.
If you want to upgrade to Windows 7, so make sure that you perform the custom installation.  This option will do a clean install of the operating system.  You will need to reinstall your programs and would need to make a backup of all your data before the installation.  Here is a link to Windows 7 install information. Error code 0 x 80070005 usually indicates that you don't have enough privileges or the operation is blocked. I know, some programs (Boot Camp on a Mac PC, etc.) is not compatible with Windows 7, if you have installed these programs on the computer, you may not be able to perform the upgrade.  You should uninstall these programs before upgrading. In addition, such a question may be related to UAC, I recommend you turn off UAC in Windows Vista, if you have installed security software, try uninstalling the security application as well.
