The error code is 'Windows Update error 80072ee2'. SO how to fix in a step-by-step fashion. I added the site proposed for the update in my antivirus while list.
Hi Sarma_RN,
1. When you receive the error message?
2. update you are trying to install?
3. When was the last time you were able to install updates?
If Windows Update, error 80072ee2 during updates, the Windows Update servers may experience an unusually high number of requests for updates. Close Windows Update, wait 10 to 15 minutes, and then run Windows Update again. Alternatively, you can wait for automatic update of Windows run at its next scheduled time.
These errors can occur caused by one of the following problems:
- Applications or processes that interfere with Internet communications
- Problems on your computer
- Strong Internet activity
- Recoverable database errors
See the Microsoft article and try the steps mentioned below.

Error 646 on Windows update in VISTA Ultimate.
I had this problem for over a month. I start a separate thread because I noticed another symptom that seems to have started at the same time. In the days of XP and 2000 I think I remember having a similar problem and a MS Tech told me that it was because of my "script host" undermined.
The reason I mention that it's here that if I run the Windows 7 upgrade advisor he doesn't and several downloadable programs Google works, but generate Notepad to open. It was the same symptom that happened years ago, when when Windows update does not work.
Once, when I run Windows Vista update I get updates 7-8 and they cross apparently but then all fail with error message 646! Is there something in Vista as 'Scripten? That's what I was told to use when I got this error in XP. I suspect one of my security programs did a 'change of file association' causing Notepad to open the code instead of running. Update of Windows Vista does not open Notepad, but the coincidence of other programs cannot open while Windows update fails before occcured under XP and once again I said he had something to do with a Script Host?
Sorry for the hike. Can I switch to W7 but wonder if it works with no problem?
Thank you very much. This corrects the problem. Also I could not run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor before and now that also works after you run the hotfix you listed.

update of sql server 2005 service pack 3 error code 6D9E Windows update security does not accept the update
Hey lasdj,
Thanks for posting in the Microsoft answers site!
If you receive Windows Update error 6d9e while installing SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3 by using Windows Update, it means that the installation folders and directories are compressed or encrypted.
To fix this problem, make sure the folder locations where you are installing the service pack to aren't compressed or encrypted, or specify a different folder and then run Windows Update again.
Therefore, remove the compression of the DATA directory and run together to the top again.
Remove compression from the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server folder and see if you are able to install the updates without any problem.
See the links below for more details:
