Impossible to install an update from windows. Error message is - Windows Update error 80073712

MS wrote to install my DVD of microsoft, but I did not.   I don't think I had one for the last 3 computers I've owned.

I made a disc repair system if that helps and you have run the MS malicious software tool and the update tool.

So far I have not found anything that even begins to point me in the right direction to solve this problem.

The computer is a gateway. NV 59 laptop w/windows 7 and 64-bit i5 processor

The update is;

    Hello

When you uninstall Google Chrome you also remove the Chrome files that remain when the program is removed?  Verify that no files have been left after uninstalling.  The path to check (with hidden files showing) is:

    C:\Users\\AppData\Local

There you should see a folder with the name Google remove this folder and try to reinstall.  To get hidden files to show the computer open, select organize in the toolbar area.  We see the choice of folder and Search Options.  Click on that.  From there click on the view tab.  There is the option to show hidden files.  This will allow you to find the necessary space to remove the folder.

  • Impossible to install KB2656374 - codes missing Windows Installer Error 80070641

original title: lack of Windows Installer

All of a sudden, seems missing Windows Installer. Certainly not in my list of Services. Thus, the last Microsoft Update K2656374 don't settle with error code 80070641 and 641. A few other updates has not as well. This is the first time Microsoft updates failed. I can't install Windows Installer 4.5 (or any other version) because I get an error message that says that it is not for my system. I think it's because he's not here to update. And I can not install software updates with the .msi extension. Can someone tell me how to extract or install Windows Installer?

I use Vista Home Basic SP2 32 bit and have been for several years. It is the first occurrence of this problem. Using Kaspersky Internet security, and in both years.

I'll tell you what has worked for me. Once you have the file "msiserver.reg" on the desktop, right-click. Now, I didn't have an option "Merge" but I got the option 'open '. Then I opened the file using "regedit.exe". You can find it in C:\Windows I think.

I received a confirmation window that my registry would be changed. I said okay Then I got a confirmation that the change was made. I rebooted my computer and looked in "Services" of Windows Installer. And here!
I also discovered that System Mechanic is the culprit in deleting a file in Windows Installer. SO I've excluded from analysis of System Mechanic. So far, I'm good.

I use Vista 32 bit, family premium, SP1, latest installed update is KB955430. Download and install the updates seem to work - until the moment where my system wants to "configurations". Here, the system stops and removes the installed updates.

  • Impossible to install Battlefield 3 on Windows XP

    Original title: DX10 on XP?

I bought battlefield 3 and it wont let me install on XP are you going to run dx10 on Xp... never? And there at - it something like DX9L or is it a myth that it performs as DX 10 on XP, so I can install Battlefield 3?

    Hello

You can not play on Windows XP since the minimum requirements for battlefield 3 are:

Windows Vista 32-bit (Service Pack 1)
    Dual Core 2 GHz processor
    2 GB OF RAM
20 GB of free HARD disk space
Graphics card compatible AMD NVIDIA DirectX 10 compatible with 512 MB RAM graphics card or DirectX 10.1 with 512 MB RAM
    Map its compatible DirectX
    Keyboard and mouse
    DVD-ROM drive

And DirectX 10 is not supported by Windows XP. If your computer meets the minimum requirements of the system for Windows 7, then I suggest you to upgrade your computer to Windows 7 that supports most of the features for the next matches.

To see if your PC is ready for Windows 7, download free Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. It scans your PC for potential issues with your hardware, devices, installed programs and recommends what to do before upgrade you.

  • Impossible to install the updated driver for printer canon

    Hello

At every reboot (or what it seems) I am presented with an optional update titled:

Canon - printer - Canon MX350 series FAX

    Download size: 18.3 MB

You may have to restart your computer for this update is taken into account.

    Update type: Optional

Canon printers software update released in April, 2012"

This made their appearance in these last weeks, and I've had the printer for more than 12 months (reference at the time of update).

He has downloaded and moved on the agreement (or as it seems), yet a further reboot shows he has not, as it appears again in update option.

Canon has already recommended to uninstall all the printer drivers for the printer, then relocation including that similar issues... a very long process.

Is there a direct link (?) I don't have access to update? Assuming that it can fix the problem.

Looking forward to any advice or request for clarification.

    concerning

    Lethal42

There are a number of knowledge associated with, such as KB123456, as well as a link in the right pane for "Additional information" or "information". By clicking on one of them may lead you to a download available.

If not, go here http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1> and look for the number + 'download '.

If this STILL does not work, try one of these (probably one of the two for 10/04/2012, even if neither one is 18.3 MB): http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=Canon%20MX350%20series%20FAX>

Or (and this is what I would do), if everything works fine with the printer, the next time that he shows up, uncheck the box, right-click on it and select "Hide this update." The general rule is if the drivers are available at hardware manufacturers, then never install an update to Microsoft hardware (unless, of course, it's a MS product such as a mouse or a keyboard).
