Suggest you first download and Save the System Update tool (or CheckSUR). Do not forget that the version you download is the architecture of the system, for example. If it is Vista x 86 (32 bit), click on the download link next to "All supported versions x 86 Windows Vista". If it is Vista x 64 (64-bit), click on the download link next to "All supported versions x 64 of Windows Vista". Once the download is completed , go and configure the system to boot. NOTE: If the system is always connected to the internet and a 3rd party firewall was used in normal mode of Windows, then make sure that the native Vista firewall is now enabled by open Windows Firewall in Control Panel.

Once the system has been started in a clean condition, run the system update readiness tool. If you are prompted to, restart the system, when it has finished the race. While still in the State of boot, install the downloaded full standalone package manually SP1 now.

  • Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 - multiple windows program or service failures after Windows Update June 17, 2011

I have Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 (I think that SP1 anyway). Last night June 17, 2011, update of Windows installed an update or updates. Now, Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer, Windows Installer, Windows Sidebar, Panel, Windows Update and other Microsoft programs all fail. I get messages with various error codes. A message is 'class not registered '. I tried a restore to a previous restore point, but apparently the only restore point is the one made after the update. What can I do here? I know that I can always restore the factory image (Dell), but I'd rather not if I can help it.

    Hi doc,

    Method 1:

You can try to repair aStartup if it is included in the system recovery options provided by the manufacturer of the computer or start from the disc for Installation of Windows Vista.

    Startup Repair: frequently asked questions

What are the system recovery options in Windows Vista?

    Method 2:

Alternatively, you can try to start a disk check and check.

You can view the following link to perform a disk check:

Check your hard drive for errors

Note: When you run the disk check, there are chances of losing data if you can take a backup of important data before you run checkdisk.

  • Vista Home Prem (64-bit) - black screen with cursor in the top left

    Hello

When I turn on the laptop, all I get is a black screen after screen of the bios at startup. Never done anywhere. He won't let me go in safe mode, it will not go to any login screen. I tried Startup Repair with Vista disc, and he says that it's been fixed, but still does not start. I've done it many times. I tried to let the part installation that moves the windows to the windows.old and creates a new copy of windows, and this did not fix it. I tried hitting CTRL-ALT-DEL in the black screen and this causing the laptop to reboot.

If anyone has any ideas, maybe something, I may have missed. I tried almost everything people have posted here. I wouldn't completely re - install if I have to.

  • Vista Home Prem SFC/scannow__

Having read the previous questions answered forum, I did the sfc/scannow and my WRP found not able to repair corrupt files... To be perfectly honest with you, I bought this pc 2007 - Vista home Prem was already not installed no drive.  I saw an answer to no disc 32-bit vista problem... so the vistax64 is what I am suppose to use.   I don't think I have enough ram to make a 32 to 64... If I had the $$$ to buy more ram... I would just buy another pc at low price... I know that it is from viruses... I did the malware and spybot... I did secure network mode...

    Hi antweeeza,

In order to fix the system files corrupted on the computer, you will need to have the Windows vista installation disc.

Use the Windows Vista installation DVD to perform an upgrade on the spot. An in place upgrade keeps as much of your personal data and settings as possible and just replace all the system files on the computer.

  • Attempt of deletion, repartitioning of a pre-installed HARD drive for Win7 (from Vista Home Prem)

    Hello

I just bought a 2nd hand Dell 1545, who had a virus on his Seagate 250 GB HDD that is preinstalled on the device from Dell.
The disc has a healthy 39 M, a partition of primary health of 14.65 GB OEM partition and a 218,20 GB of free space, which took me 3 days
to remove the handles of some unknown reformatting of limitation.
The machine originally had Vista Home Premium SP1 on it, that I intend to upgrade with my copy of Win 7 retail.
This is, as I understand it, Win7 need a 20 GB partition.
How can I get the 3 partitions to merge and be a whole HARD disk, so I can create a new partition for the SYS OP to reinstall?
I already tried this, nothing done... and I tried disk management, but that fails miserably, too.  Suggestions?
The HARD drive contains nothing that I know that I already wiped the separate partitions as it became possible to do.
Hope this is enough information for a person to bring their expertise to solve and that I'm posting in the right place.
Thank you very much in advance for any help.

  • can I switch from 32-bit win vista home prem 64-bit win vista home prem?

can I switch from 32-bit win vista home prem 64-bit win vista home prem?

Yes, you can, but you need to back up and do a custom installation. There is no place on the way to upgrade from Windows Vista 32 bit to 64 bit.

Installation and relocation of Windows Vista
Back up your files - Microsoft Corporation: software, Smartphones...

Boot from the Windows Vista DVD
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows Vista click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

  • Problems to install a downloaded version of Windows Vista Home Basic SP1 on my mac through VMWARE FUSION

    Hi all

I hope you can help as I'm going crazy! It's my first MAC if im a complete noob.

Me being lazy has decided to download Windows Vista Home Basic SP1 from https://emea.microsoftstore.com/UK/DesktopDefault.aspx/tabid-2/ site

It contains 3 files which I had to download separately:

    Vista_HomeBasic_SP1_32bit_English_Download_Part1_66G - 02017.exe

    Boot.wim

    install.wim

Once I had downloaded these. I pulled the top of VMWARE AU12EME 2 but could not detect anything. If I then wacked out on a memory stick and ran the .exe on my windows pc. This integrated then all the files I downloaded a good big folder of Vista.

So once again I pulled up to VMWARE fusion 2.0 but still nothing. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I heard people talking that I need an ISO file? But I searched all files that I downloaded and installed, and there is nothing similar. The only thing I can think is that I need to burn the VISTA folder I extracted from my pc to DVD and try running disk on my Mac. But that would make a difference that I tried to run from my DESKTOP MAC key and memory? In addition, there is no ISO files.

Please HELP I'm worried that I just lost my money!

I did a little research, and it was one of the best hits on How to make Vista DVD bootable with WIM downloaded files that I think sums up your situation.

Because I had the file oscdimg.exe since Install Kit automated (Windows AIK) I gave it a try and it worked.  In other words, by using the folder of Vista and its content that has been created by you run the files you downloaded you should be able to create a Bootable ISO Image, which you can then use to create a DVD, if you have the right software to burn an ISO Image on DVD.  (Maybe you could do this on the Mac) Although if you want to you have even burn the ISO Image to DVD just copy it on the Mac and assign it to the CD/DVD in the settings of Virtual Machines.

Other documents you may find useful: Microsoft TechNet > TechNet Library > Windows > Windows Vista > Windows Vista technical library Roadmap > Windows Vista: deployment > Kit to install Windows Automated (Windows AIK) > Deployment Tools Technical Reference > Command - line Tools Technical Reference > Oscdimg command-line Options

Just to let you know that it took me about 20 minutes to do a search on Google and create the ISO Image and the test that I could start a VM in the Fusion and if you need to download and install the Windows Automated Installation Kit (AIK) to get the oscdimg.exe file it obviously will take you a little longer, but it is doable and the solution vs safer trying to get the file oscdimg.exe or cdimage.exe from a link sent illegally into the file.

In any case the information presented here can solve your problem of creating a Bootable Image DVD/ISO.

A couple of weeks, I installed Driver Max and update the outdated drivers, blutooth, among them, identified by Driver Max, on my HP Touchsmart IQ772, Vista Home Premium SP1.  Since last week, I get this message every time I have log on or restart my computer. I had the same problem after a registry cleanup on my touchsmart iq518a, don't know why it worked, but I fixed it by clicking programs and features in the control panel and uninstall the program "HP bluetooth."
