  I was in there for 22 years and has worked as an engineer on major networks and the network I stem - anyone got any idead. I checked all the basics such as Netbios, file sharing etc etc.

I downloaded and installed the KB974821 tool - tells me it installed - same problem. (I don't know if I'm supposed to do something else with KB974821 - I have to "run" or just "installed" it enough?) Instructions could certainly be clearer)

  I tried to download and install the updates manually - without success - I get various error messages, like "does not apply to your system" or "for a different hardware platform.

  I tried this with my firewall/antivirus close as well - using Trend Micro - and still no luck.
