  I have an aaa server group set up on my router to use for Wells, AAA, but it doesn't work that way, but when I simply specify a server and not the list of group everything works. Any ideas why this is. I'm going to pos the config.

  Here's another option:

  We are at half-way to make this work. You already have authentication going on locally; We should be able to reach the authentication of the user privilege assigned using the authorization.

  Users will not ask the enable password, but will go directly into enable mode. You could confirm the level of privileges assigned to the user with the command of private show.

  The original enable password/secret would still be there, if you allow users access to the enable command, then they can always pass in the full privilege mode (15). This can be avoided by giving users a lower privilege level, then by moving the enable command up to a higher privilege level.

  I don't have a switch with me at the moment to test the CLI, but I think the command to change the privilege would be:

  Switch (config) #privilege exec level X enable

  where X is the new privilege evel. Of course, the junior user should be at a lower level in order to not reach the command.

  We have ASA configured in multiplayer in context with 8.4 (2) software configured for AAA

  Configuration is admin context as follows:

  AAA-server TAC Protocol Ganymede +.

  Because of the multiple context, after the connection we enter in the system context. Console port authentication works very well except access to the privileged mode when you connect through the console port.

  After the show 'enable' command ASA accepts only configured activate secret in context and change ID of user system for enable_15, so we are unable to do accounting and authorization of user level control.

  It seems that the ASA in the context of the system is not aware of all the configurations of AAA, and it is not a command to configure AAA in the context of the system.

  Is there a way to configure enable AAA authentication in the context of the system?

  Hello everyone, I have a problem with the AAA accounting on my ACS 4.0 device. When I view the posting journal lists the connections, protocols and addresses IP but not the commands executed on the specific switch. When I debug AAA accounting I see ouput but when I debug Ganymede accounting I see nothing. An exammple of my config is:

  I'm trying to set up a new server ACS4.2. ACS is installed, a partner of replication configured, etc. Master and slave new run every two ACS4.2 (0) Build 124. (Master shows 'Patch 12', slave shows any patch info)

  Replication on the new ACS server settings are identical to those on my current secondary ACS server that receives data replicated correctly.

  Problem: I have reproduce manually master ACS server on the new ACS server. Logs on both servers show a successful replication. Users, groups of users, network device groups (NDG) all reproduce them correctly. However, there are zero features in each of the NDG.

  Master is set to send, new slave set to receive:

  User and group database

  Network device Configuration tables

  WBS

  Configuration of the interface

  Interface security settings

  Password validation settings

  I also tried to reproduce the network access profiles instead of peripheral Network Configuration tables. Still no customer AAA in the NDG.

  I need my replicated AAA clients.  Should I be reproducing different or additional components? Am I missing some settings elsewhere in ACS?

• No remote access after you activate the Radius AAA

  I can't access our catalyst 4006 after activating the AAA for RADIUS. I have install IAS on our domain controller configuration / a catalyst as a Radius client and configured a remote access policy that points to an ad group to allow access to the switch. When I try to connect to catalyst by my user information in AD, it seems to crash after I type my password, asks for the password again, then says access denied. This happens both on the console and through a telnet session. I have included below the configuration of my AAA.

  I think that the immediate problem is that the source address of your switch ussed is not address who is pregnant with Ray. The Radius Server is 10.100.182.250 and it is in the subnet of the interface vlan 182. If the address of the interface vlan 182 will be the source address of the Radius request. Difficulty which is to use the command of source ip range address and specify the address at which you want the switch to be used. Of course, in the short term, it would be easier to change the Radius Server to wait 10.100.182.2 as the address of the customer.

  To use privilege levels, you need to set the authorization and authentication. The following should do the trick for you:

  I'm fighting with NPS AA configuration for our 3750 array... authentication and authorization

  I tried almost every config I could find online, but the more I got out it is a simple authentication. What I need is quite simple:

  We have several ad groups

  1 - Admin

  2 - Readonly with few privileges for ping, traceroute and show, telnet

  I need my switches to recognize groups and assign the correct private. But it doesn't seem to be the case. Can someone show a clean config for the switch and NPS?

  This is the configuration I have on my IOS switch:

  I created two policies on the IAS (yours would be NPS). Both have Windows groups such as designating a ReadOnly condition and the other in the FullAccess group.

  When a user of ReadOnly access, I get:

  Username: priv1

  Password:

  Switch > en

  Password:

  % Authentication failure.

  Thus, the user is limited to the unpriviledged (>) mode controls.

  When a user of FullAccess accessing:

  Username: priv15

  I get directly affected to activate the Mode (#) due to the Administrative value of the attribute Type of service.

  You are right. This card is NOT compatible with your system.

  (1) the h8-1114 is about Sept 2011 and has been issued with WIN7.   BIOS rev 7.16 is related to the WIN 7.

  (2) you can not put the BIOS to rev8.  Who took supported Sept 2012 and is called UEFI.

  (3) the GT740 is issued may 2014 and would be UEFI vBIOS, requiring a BIOS you can not install.

  (4) even if the GT 740 to work,it's marginal aloneagainst the original GT 520.

  You need a GPU that is inherited or has the switch for Legacy/UEFI.

• Presario SR2170NX Radeon HD5450 upgrade problem

  I'm trying to update the video in a Presario SR2170NX with a Sapphire Radeon HD5450 PCI Express X 16 graphics card.  I don't get a video output after installing the card.  When I remove the card the built-in VGA port provides an output.  Here's what I have:

  System memory: 2Gb

  BIOS Rev. 5.14 dated 11/04/07

  BIOS main graphics card: PCI-E

  OS: Vista 32-bit

  Power supply: upgrade to 400W, + 12V1 = 14 a, + 12V2 = 15 a

  I tested the HD5450 in another computer, and it worked, so I know that the card is good.  Specifications of the motherboard and graphics card spec shout PCI Express X 16 so that they are compatible.

  Any ideas on how to get this to work?

  Boot in the bios (F10 setup) and see if the bios recognizes the video card in the PCI-E x 16 slot. If not recognized, then try to clear the CMOS memory.  It's a long shot.

  Your diet must be sufficient to supply this card, but the motherboard and bios compatibility is a big concern. I have far too many messages where recent ATI 5xxx video card failed to work in the old HP PC.  The Sapphire Radeon HD5450 is probably x 16 PCI - E 2.1 and may not be backward compatible with the motherboard of your PC.  PCI-E 2.0 entering the market in early 2007, so your PC is perhaps not to the 2.0 specification.

  If you can not get the card to work, then try to exchange it for a NVIDIA graphics card.  If you do not need support for DirectX 11 then this EVGA NVIDIA 240 is a good choice.   If you need DirectX 11 support and then try the 450 from NVIDIA.  The 450 is a double card wide in order to ensure that the location next to the PCI-E x 16 card is vacant.

• T440p BIOS - cannot use up/down arrow keys [broken?]

  I think that there is a problem with the current BIOS of T440p that I can not change the menu with the arrow/down buttons items. Up and Down keys work well in Windows 10. Difficulty please!

  Obviously, iTunes can properly read a CD in the drive.  Then why can not read the CD or import music into iTunes?  Any suggestions for a fix would be greatly appreciated.

  Have you tried to change the drive letter associated with the CD player?  Even now, Windows has a code which can handle the drives 'A:' and 'B' differently from others, based on the use inherited from those floppy drive letters.  He pourrait be something in this part of Windows that blocks iTunes interaction with it, even if the software is grateful as an optical drive.  Because of this legacy of good old MS-DOS, recognized best practices to C: as the system drive and all other readers (except actually floppy disks) in the range D: to Z:.
