10 workstation online best way to keep the host offline and guests?

Newbie question: Workstation 10 - have a host Windows 7 Ultimate x 64, several guests Linux Mint 17.3 (KDE). The machine is portable i7 with 16 GB of RAM. The network is wireless only (cannot use cable in current situation).

I would keep the Windows 7 host permanently out of the network. The guests are online and used for web and similar access. What would be the best way to set up on the side of the network, assuming that it can be done?

Thanks a lot for your help!

PH

Hello

Well this is... depends on what you intend to 'offline' for the customer.

If you are planning that the guests to be accessible from the outside (I mean through wifi to your host), the host has (?) to be somehow connected, so online?

There is perhaps a way to restrict connections from hosts on the outside... so that web page in emails do not work, but the host is will still be able to receive a part of traffic in my humble OPINION.

With my knowledge and my experience, I know:

-You can connect a guest with his * own * USB hardware. I mean you can disconnect from host a WiFi USB (or USB ethernet adapt) card and connect it to a given host. So the host could be offline (no wifi, no ethernet), but the guest can be connected through the material, it will set up.

-guests could communicate with each other via a 'host-only' adapter or a bridge (as your ethernet NiC).

-When the ethernet NiC host is physically connected (and guests on her bridge), communication between clients is broken... but a software solution is to add a dummy loopback adapter to simulates network card is connected. In this used during travels by train, without ethernet or wifi, to avoid changing the working configuration of the guests in bridge on the ethernet adapter that I used to have to work! :-) Modifying simply physical WMnet0 (eg) to ethernet virtual network configuration microsoft Loopback to tour.

Took the 3 above stated and your configuration:

-1 host must be offline

-several guests that should be online

-ethernet to the home not connected

You can try to:

-installation of a map of looping to the host (http://www.groovypost.com/howto/microsoft/install-a-loopback-adapter-in-windows-7/ )

-connect and configure a physical map of wifi USB to one of your comments (comments should have a virtual USB controller installed).

-share your comments above WiFi connection.

-Configure the * other * invited to use the above share under their gateway address (and DNS I guess?) and set up their virtual connection through the loop (you may need to manually change the address/subnet of the closure to match that of the shared connection).

It's an idea to dig.

Own a unique login prompt works for sure, but use it as a gateway to the other guests might be the tricky part (at least for me)!

My 2 cents! ;-)

Kind regards.

  • Best way to combine the 8-bit and 16-bit image files?

I produce large photographic reproductions combining my own photo images modified RAW 16-bit with 8-bit stock photos and 8-bit of photoshop work. I used just reduce my photos from 16-bit to 8-bit and then change my image composite 8-bit, but I stumbled on the banding and other problems in the color gradients, I created later in my composite image.

I want my composite image at 16 bits to get more specific and better degraded colors. What is the best way to bring the image to 8-bit files in my composition and maintain the best quality? Is it good to convert images to 8-bit to 16-bit in PS, before you import it? I've also heard bringing 8-bit images as smart objects? Thanks for any help on this.

Even when there is no need to convert the document to the item in 16-bit mode is not.  If you need all the layers to adjust the image of the element to be light or mix better, it's better you have two choices. Do not open the file of the item in Place as a smart object layer and then open the embedded object and change the copy of your document.  Or open the target document element all the layers and then drag the document you are working on.

The second way would produce a larger file of the document then the smart object layer way. For all layers will be 16-bit color. When the layer of integrated dynamic object is a copy of an 8-bit image file only the composite made of pixels of the object is to convert 16-bit mode.  A smart object layers pixel is like a whose pixel raster layer cannot be changed only acted on.  To change the pixels, you need to open the embedded object and modify the object.

If you do not need the layer, you can simply drag into those that you need.  Yet once, there is no need to convert the document to the 16-bit mode, Photoshop element that will be in any copy of drag layers.

When you use Photoshop how to think or what Photoshop just make how he could do. Shortly after, you will have a better understanding of what is happening.

  • What is the best way to keep the block diagram / cleaning of façade?

    Hello

I'm relatively new to Labview so I'm not able to say if I'm overloading my programs or make my too crowded block diagram. I was wondering if there was some ways to tell if I can simplify my programming just by looking (perhaps only experience contributes to these things)?

I enclose my VI here. Currently, she is able to monitor the voltage and current of two engines. On the screen, you can see an indicator with the voltage and current values and there are cards that can display signals of different engines with a menu drop-down.

The façade is pretty clean, in my opinion of novice, but the block schema seems messy to me, just at the first glance. I foresee a problem occurring in the future however. In the future, I will have the VI to monitor 50 engines globally. All of the programming will be the same as the one I have now, but it will have 50 indicators and unfortunately 50 times just about everything. I would like to avoid this, but I don't know how I did.

I use a USB-6009. I use its four differential inputs to monitor the voltage and current of the two engines. In the future, I will get more units DAQ (25 in total because 2 motors can be monitored for each data acquisition). The new Renault will help will help with more resource space, but I think things complicate with the added option of 24 more Assistants of data acquisition (as used in my code).

Thanks for any help you might be able to provide!

Usually, it is above all the experience that will teach you the best methods for making your code to do pretty. I don't know anyone who is proud of his first application of claws. There are some resources out there to help with best practices, as that group on ni.com, but you will learn most of your own development.

Your façade is superb. FPs in general really are to you. You can do it as ugly or pretty as you want. When you have a few controls in duplicate and the Group of indicators, you should use clusters and berries to simplify. You can use a bit of cleanup in this regard, but not much. In addition, I personally hate read red text unless it is a warning any.

Your block diagram could use a little cleaning in a sense of modularity. You have a lot of repeated code, which you might consolidate in to a Subvi, which is used in multiple locations, or in a loop For. A general rule is to keep your block diagram within a single monitor. You should not scroll. Your application is quite simple, so it is difficult to BUMBLE

Here are a few details on your block diagram:

    • Click with the right button on your devices on the block diagram and uncheck the "display as icon". You are welcome.
    • Operations on each waveform "(x*2-4)" / 16 in double ": create a Subvi and/or run the waveforms through a loop."
    • You do a lot of 2-element arrays and then indexing. Just replace the ones that have a Select node based on digital.
    • All your code runs every time, including the knots of your property at the bottom, which is not necessary. As you learn LabVIEW architectures, you will learn how to get around this with the initialization and the output of code, but for now, you should put a case around those structure for only when the engine numbers change.
    • I don't know how you're timing your main loop, but you should put a delay in there because you don't need the DAQmx node shoot as fast as your CPU will allow.

There are videos of intro free that you can watch to learn what OR think in terms of coding and teach you some of the basic features and such. Here's a three-hour course, and here's a six-hour course.

  • What is the best way to keep the high resolution when recording "for the web".

the files that I save to the web so I can get them in jpg (or gif) are coming very pixelated.  That's when I print the image.

What is the best way to save for the web, an image and keep the good resolution.

using a business card template.  template Avery will allow me to attach images I want to project.  to do this...  I 'get file computer' and it deletes the image in but real little... then you are supposed to expand on your work as you want.  Well, when I enlarge this image file, it gets pixelated bad.  I think it's the way that I am saving it.  I do not adjust anything when I save.  Maybe I should.  This is where I need advice.

That's what avery model notes on the images, I am allowed to use - when downloading the image, the maximum allowed size is 4 MB.  You can download the JPG and PNG RGB or CMYK images.  so when you recommend things, can you please take this into account

  • Best way to keep the size/scale through drawings?

I have, for the moment, five vector drawings, I work with Illustrator.  They are reproduced digitally and in print.

Screen printing, t-shirts, to the scale of the drawings - which contain text - remain the same.  Above all, I need the police to have the same size on each t-shirt.  So there is a piece of art, then underneath a small sentence.  We are moving to a digital process, requiring the vector art.  Initially I did all my drawings in PS, but now I need them into vectors.  I'm so redo all artificial intelligence.  And I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to implement or interpret them over there so that the police will be the same.  In PS, all I had to do was set the type to 39, "BOLD", and that's it.

My original vector files are much larger and I guess I should just bring the art to its final size, printed and just set the font to 39 again...  But I'm afraid, it might not work that easily... or am I wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, he cut yourself - do not let someone else.  Make sure that the ' scale strokes and effects "are checked in the context menu of the control panel of your transformation.  Then apply your text as you wish.

You can make the type be it, although if you are really concerned with consistency, I would describe it just to be safe.  If you haven't, make sure you send the font files as well as the file to the printer

For your art space, select everything and look at the right column of your transformation Panel. (the left is the location)

If you give the art to the printer as final art, they should have no reason to resize (unless you ask them to)

I just got Lr4, which I use in addition to CS5.5 Design Premium, and I want to use Lr as the editor and a primary raw file manager.

With this configuration, I just connect the drive and the software copies all the files that are new or modified, leaving the rest untouched. So it is a very quick and painless process that allows me to work every machine without missing a step.

So I need to know the most effective way for the transport of catalog exchange from one machine to another, using the portable player. The directory structure is the same between the two machines - but the drive letters are not the same, so the files are technically not in the same place.

I see that it is a menu called element Export in the catalog. Who will do it? And how will import on the other machine? To import from a different catalog?

  • Best way to perpetuate the VPN?

We have VPN to remote sites using Cisco 861 to an ASA routers and some to other IOS based router.  Wanted to know what is the best way to keep active VPN.  We use function 'ip sla', but is there something better we can do that will detect a SA idle, turn it off and create a new?

I worked with Juniper devices too and they have an option to generate a new 'key' and that works pretty well.

    Hello

The crypto isakmp keepalive command won't follow the tunnel.

The command is used to monitor the condition of the tunnel and allow a site to demolished the tunnel so will receive no response from a peer in a set amount of seconds.

This is useful when a site loses Internet and tries to restore the tunnel but can't because the other side "think" that the tunnel is still in place.

You can think of it like this:

If this is not the case, use crypto isakmp KeepAlive then the SAs won't be demolished unless the lifetime expires or is deleted manually.

To avoid waiting to happen, just activate KeepAlive to ensure that the tunnel is alive all the time.

Don't go back to follow the tunnel, there is no command (for VPN) to follow a tunnel as far as I know.

As long as there is traffic through the tunnel, the tunnel will stay up.

I used one of the solutions is to configure IP SLA to send a package unique PING through the tunnel all say 10 minutes.

This unique package maintains the tunnel since it resets ITS life before it expires.

    It will be useful.

    Federico.

  • What is the best way to store the RCS for an insert/update in this rec

    Oracle on Win 64 non-conteneur 12.1.0.2

When a record in one table is inserted or updated, what would be the best way to store the RCS for this record in this folder.

I thought of a line after trigger, but did not know if this trigger to store the current_scn would still fire that trigger again (recursive trigger).

Someone at - he a good idea of what the best way is to do?  The devs don't want to store the pk and the SNA in yet another table...

Yes, row_dependencies would be the best way to go.  But mgmt doesn't recreate all tables for this.

3rd party applications retrieve data from tables (all data).  We are looking for a way for them to just pull what is new or updated updated since their last sweater.

I suggest that you try again and give all OF THE REQUIREMENTS.

You have rejected ANY answer given and he justified using 'hidden' on what knowledge management or the devs want or do not want to. Stop making us guess what are the requirements and constraints. If you want a real answer then tell us ALL the news.

When a record in one table is inserted or updated, what would be the best way to store the RCS for this record in this folder.

Solomon answered repeatedly. If you want to add a column to a table to store the then "best" SNA is to let the Oracle to do this for you automatically by using the DEPENDENCY LINE.

As he says also re-create the table to add this clause will be MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE that everything THAT you can do it manually. It will be also more accurate because Oracle will fill the value ORA_ROWSCN with the SNA at the time the line was committed. You, as long as user, can't fill a column in function when a line is engaged since real VALIDATION belongs to a transaction, not the line or the trigger that you use.

Yes - there are two drawbacks to this method:

    1. you need to re-create the table

    2. you cannot add an index to this "hidden" column

The devs don't want to store the pk and the SNA in yet another table...

Then? Who cares what the devs want to do? You want the BEST solution? Next, you will need to put aside personal preferences and determine what is the 'best' solution. Why it is important that certain dev wants to do this or not?

OK, the problem of biz is now, 3rd party external users are an all-wheel drive large number of tables in the database via the API that we wrote.  That was obviously interrupted OLTP during the day.  To reduce to the minimum, we want for them just to extract data that has been inserted/updated since their last sweater.

It is the definition of a "replica" DB Then why don't you consider a real replicated DB? You can use DataGuard and have replicated DB which is read only that can be used to generate reports. Oracle does ALL the work to keep ALL the tables in sync. You and your developers do NOTHING!

We thought that store the RCS higher their last sweater would allow the API to extract only data with YVERT higher than their last data pull CHN.

OK - except you keep rejecting solutions actually do. Ask you questions about the SNA stored in the same table, but then reject the solution that does this. And then you add your "devs" don't want to store the info in a new table either.

Then your solutions must ONLY use the replication or Log Miner. The REDO logs have all changes, if you want to extract yourself. Replication (e.g., DataGuard) will use these logs for you to maintain a replicated database.

We thought about it, but recreate all tables in production with ROWDEPENDENCIES as well as dealing with CF and other dependencies idea this was shot.

Well you NEVER mentioned you "thought that" and rejected it. And you NEVER mentioned anything about FKs and other dependencies. What is FKs and other dependencies which prevents this working solution? Tell us! Give us ALL the information.

Wouldn't a trigger AFTER LINE capture the commit YVERT?  Or is after really not after validation?

No - a trigger has NOT one commit. A trigger runs as a step in a transaction. Validation applies to the entire transaction. Until you, or Oracle, issues a commit, there is NO "committed SNA" to be stored as ORA_ROWSCN.

You can easily see that for yourself. Create a simple table with dependencies of the line and then update two different sessions.

create the table emp_scn rowdependencies in select * from emp where rownum<>

    Select empno, emp_scn ora_rowscn

    Update emp_scn set work = 'b' where empno = 7499

    commit;

The first SELECT statement will show you that each row has the same SNA.

    EMPNO, ORA_ROWSCN

    7369,70622201

    7499,70622201

    7521,70622201

Now, do the update (but no commit), then SELECT it

    EMPNO, ORA_ROWSCN

    7369,70622201

    7499,

    7521,70622201

Where is the value of 7499? This session will NOT see a value for the changed lines in the current transaction. Other sessions will still see the old value.

Now do the validation, then SELECT

    EMPNO, ORA_ROWSCN

    7369,70622201

    7499,70622301

    7521,70622201

7499 now has a new and different value than the other lines. It will not be this new value until the validation occurs.

Yes, row_dependencies would be the best way to go.  But mgmt doesn't recreate all tables for this.

Well, you got the answer you want. You ask the best way. Now, you say that you were told the best way. But now you don't like the answer.

How is it our fault? Your question has been answered wasn't she?

    Here are the facts:

1 oracle creates a history of changes - the REDO log files

    2. you can use Log Miner to extract these changes

    3. you can create your own change log by adding a log file of MV to your table.

    4. you can then write a custom code to use this MV log file to determine which rows to "reproduce".

So far reject you all THE POSSIBLE solutions.

Accept it or change the requirements to allow one of the solutions proposed to be used.

Personally, if I HAD to use a customized solution, I would use a MV journal to record the ROWID of the lines that have changed (for tables ROWID cannot be changed). I would then extract the appropriate lines by pulling on the lines corresponding to these row ID.

Even that has problems since a line can be changed several times and children lines can also be amended several times - these questions FK you mentioned.

I suggest you read this entire thread on AskTom a dozen years ago. It addresses ALL these issues.

Yes for sure users will be get affected when you replace the current with a new app, if they use it at the same time.

Another best way to move the application to the production (keeping the same URL of deployment) is to use the Application Alias for your URL of the App Production.

In this way, you can import the application while users are using the old application. And then after opening hours all you have to do is delete the alias from the application of the old app and assign this alias to your new application.

Refer to the following response: Re: versioning in Apex (the thread is on version control, but, in this reply, I have explained the deployment of Application Alias method).

    I hope this helps!

  • Best way to store the values of the map

    Hi all.

I have a card <>where I store the values (in this case, I store the IDs of rows in the table). I have an application with a panel tabs and I have a card for each tab. When the user exits the application, I'll go through the card and the identity of any process

If I use normal in my grain map, once the user changes tab (or opens a pop up or something like that), the map is instantiated again and all data is lost. To resolve this problem, I used a static map. Everything is ok, but if 2 users use the application at the same time, they will share the card data and I don't want that.

So I have a question: what is the best way to keep my card? I read some people saying to use one Bean of sessionScope, others a pageFlowBean, other parameters of Page, etc...

    Can you help me?

    P.s: jdev version 11.1.2.4.0

Well, you can create a managed bean in this scope, or you can put your card directly at your fingertips.

Here you will find several techniques to get the bean managed in java code: http://www.lkakarla.com/2013/06/retrieving-managed-beans.html
