1080 GTX

Hi I have a question,

Is my Alienware AREA 51 R2 will be compatible with a GTX 1080?

Thank you!!

Dell will neither confirm or deny because they have the specifcs that they need to do, but as long as your computer has at least a location Gen3.0 PCIe x 16 (which it should be) and the dimensions of the new card fit into the dimensions of your case (which should once again) it will be compatible, from a material point of view.

Drivers, etc. is what someone has assumed that for the time being, once again should work fine, but new drivers are known to be intrinsically problematic.

I have a new graphics card this week, a Turbo of Asus GTX 1080, but I have questions about the use with the amplifier of graphics.

My laptop is a 17R3 of Alienware.

The Board fits perfectly, there is only a single power connector and it is fastened to the GPU.

When I connect the graphic amplifier and power the laptop it keep turning on/off as an infinite reboot cycle.

Maybe this specific version of 1080 GTX (Asus GTX 1080 Turbo) is not compatible with the graphics amplifier?

My previous video, a 980Ti ACX 2.0 EVGA card works just fine and if I plug this GPU to another computer also works.

I do not think that associates the PSU of GA, but who knows?

Everyone knows who? Has anyone tried this GPU with GA?

    Hi Chris!

Well, I traded Turbo 1080 GTX from Asus to a 1080 GTX from MSI, and now everything works perfectly!

So, I can confirm that the MSI GeForce 1080 Aero 8 G works perfectly with the AGM!

    Thanks for all your support.

Hello, I was just wondering if my a 970 GTX a 1080 GTX graphics card upgrade could result in the cancellation of my 160se-860 care pack. If the warranty is not void, is that what I need to know about upgrading a graphics card; relating to the function "Secure Boot" of HP products. Hi @_MiKz_,.

I hope you enjoy your visit to the HP's Support Forums. I understand your question about the video card upgrade. I'll be happy to help you.

Change video card do not void the warranty, but HP covers parts installed at time of purchase. Any update of the driver must come from Geforce.

The computer has power of 500W and it is the system recommended power (W) 4 for the GTX 1080.

  • Adobe Media Encoder not using GPU at all for H.264 encoding

So I have a strange problem, it seems SOUL refuses to use the GPU for transcoding - I have a minute 9 4 k file I need to transcode and it takes more than an hour on a very fast machine. I tried other formats and files of that specific file and nothing does the GPU at all (using GPU - Z to monitor the load). Specifically trying to get DNxHR or DNxHD files in H.264 VBR 2 pass codec

    Machine: hex 3960K core i7 core cpu - GPU installed: ti 980 GTX / GTX 1080 - 64 GB RAM Win 10 64 pro

-First pro uses the GPU (actually 1080) for CUDA acceleration video

-J' tried to disable 1080 GTX in Nvidia with SOUL Panel (setting preference CUDA at 980ti, as I know, pascal is perhaps not compatible yet)

-J' original CC, no luck tried versions of SOUL

-J' tried transcoding other types of files in the case where this was a problem of specific file (animation, cineform, etc.) no luck

My gut tells me it's maybe a CUDA or OpenCL / OpenGL / DLL problem.

I had CUDA installed 8.0 for use with Octane render, but uninstalled and it makes no difference

maybe try a CUDA 7.0 installation? that would help? Any other suggestions?

    Hello tstopdigital420,

Is the GTX 980ti supported for H.264 encoding in Adobe Media Encoder or not? I thought I had read that it was, but maybe I'm wrong. IF not I'll talk accordingly.

Parenthesis - anyone knows of other software that supports rendering GPU accelerated by CUDA h.264?

I think you're under the false impression that the GPU speeds up encoding H.264 exports. It does not, but is a feature that is often requested.

Encoding is a process that focuses on the CPU in Premiere Pro and Adobe Media Encoder. The GPU accelerates certain elements in the entire export process, but not the encoding itself.

The GPU will accelerate what follows in the export process: scaling, conversion of the image, blending modes, deinterlacing and color space conversion. The GPU will also speed up the processing of GPU based video effects, including the effect of color Lumetri.

    Example:

    • If you are encoding a file of 4K in a file of HEVC H.265 4 K, the GPU acceleration is not involved in the export process because no scaling has been used.
    • If you are encoding a file of 4K in a file, H.264 HD, GPU acceleration is involved in the export process, because the scale was necessary.

If your GPU is disabled or "grayed out" and he has capable specifications, then this is another problem of troubleshooting.

    Thank you

  • OpenCL architecture and Nvidia Pascal

Does Photoshop CC OpenCL with Pascal Nvidia cards? I have 1080 GTX SLI and OpenCL option in the preferences panel is grayed out. Before I had GTX SLI 970 and OpenCL worked well.

If you update to a new version of Windows 10.  Try to install the GXT1080 diver unit.  After never preview Windows 10 build install. I had to reinstall my device driver Nvidia Quader 4000 OpenCL option restore in Photoshop Advanced GPU options.  Prior to the re - install it would be greyed out. After the re - install wouldn't it not be grayed out it has been verified.

  • Release of Lightroom CC 2015.6 VERY SLOW!

    Hi guys,.

I use Lightroom CC 2015.6 contacted Camera RAW 9.6 out of 10 Pro 64 bit and I have pretty decent rig: i7 6950 X (10 carrots), Asus Radeon Strix 1080 GTX, 64 GB 3200 RAM, SSD on PCI.  'Use the graphics processor' is enabled in my preferences of LR, but I don't see an important when different it is turned off.

First of all it takes LR about 3-4 seconds per image to build 1:1 previews, which means several hours if I have thousands of images from a shoot.

When I try to get a glimpse of some of the images at 100%, and to quickly move between them it works fine for maybe 5 minutes and then it starts to slow down: it takes LR seconds to create each preview and also from seconds to move between images. Furthermore, the previews are 3840px in size and average quality.

In Manager tasks I can see that at the start after start LR uses only 5-10% of my CPU resources and about 2 to 5 GB of RAM, but after a few minutes the use of RAM increases 15-20 GB and that's when LR becomes very slow. It seems he keeps each image previewed in memory and not release to the system when I close the preview.

I also tried another software to compare and other programs were significantly faster (Aftershot Pro is the fastest, followed by DXO Optics Pro and Capture One).

So it seems that this problem is strictly linked to the software and not to my material at all. Also, I noticed that after the recent updates, so I wonder if relling until one of the earlier versions might help.

Ideas to improve my experience with the latest edition of LR?

I'm really scared, because I don't really have time to wait for the software when working on thousands of images each week.

Your response will be appreciated. Thank you!

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Lightroom/KB/Lightroom-GPU-FAQ.html

You have your system configured to save all 1:1 previews in your catalog for ever? I set mine to delete every 30 days, so I don't have all that stored somewhere in a cache with LR.

Because it goes so slow down anyway I don't think you have much to lose by trying to clear your cache. But read up on it before making this decision.

In addition, if your photos are stored on an external I wonder if there is a problem with this external hard drive bus speed?

Or if it's all beings stored on your local disk with the OS and applications, maybe it's having a shape any conflict with something the OS or a partner app? Do you think these performance issues when other applications are turned off? Just think-tanking with you here because it seems to have no else responded yet.
Hope of those is the solution.

  • 860 - 170vr: updated to the NVIDIA GTX 1080

I wait with updating the 860-170VR with the gtx nvidia GPU 1080. I would like to update the model that comes stock with the AMD Radeon™ R9 390 X 8 GB GDDR5 FH GF. Please let me know if that's ok.

    Greetings,

You good to go. But check that your PC can accommodate a 10.5 inch graphics card. HP requires sometimes manufacturers change the specification of the graphics cards so that they adapt and work in the towers of HP.  A stock 390 is nearly 11 inches in length.

Make sure you completely uninstall the graphics drivers AMD and the software before installing the 1080. Also disable secure boot and turn on the old boot in the BIOS. I am running a 970 on Win 7 Pro and the turn off the quick start.

The 1080 is slightly shorter in length compared to the 390 and requires less or equivalent to run power.

You have a 600 Watt power supply and that your PC has a UEFI BIOS.

    I also want to install a 1080 in a 810-150se desire.

I'm waiting for EVGA release this map. It requires 215 Watts. Other 1080's require only 180 watts.

    See you soon!

  • Aurora-R5, SLI Nvidia GTX 1080, 850w PSU enough?

    Hi guys!

The new R5-Aurora looks great, so I'm considering buying one, but I have a question about 1080GTX SLI setting. I would buy the 5 k monitor from Dell (UP2715K) as well. So I'd better feed this beast with the installation of 1080GTX SLI! BUT, I knew the Aurora-R5 only comes with a PSU 850w (power supply unit). Is this enough? On area 51 - R2 page noted that it comes with a 1500w power supply to ensure that the SLI Nvidia GTX 1080 configuration has enough power. So how can the Aurora-R5 works correctly with only 850w?

Useful information for configuring, I would buy:

    6700 K overclocked I7
    32 GB OF RAM
    500SSD + 2 TB
    Blu - Ray read/write
    SLI 1080GTX

    A big thank you!

When you choose one of the processors (i7 - 6700K, i5 - 6600K) K, you will need to choose the power 850w multi-GPU approved with the high Peformance liquid of cooling that can perform one of the following OEM video cards in a dual configuration.

    Nvidia GeForce GTX RTYN6 1080 founders edition, Pascal, 8GB, DVI-D/DP1.4/DP1.4/DP1.4/HDMI 2. 0 b, double/single
    The founders of Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 edition 6F651, Pascal, 8GB, DVI-D/DP1.4/DP1.4/DP1.4/HDMI 2. 0 b, double/single
    5NN03 Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti, D17U-40, 6 GB memory GDDR5 DVI-I/DP/DP/DP/HDMI, double/single
    YJ30F Nvidia GeForce GTX 980, 4 GB memory GDDR5 DVI-I/DP/DP/DP/HDMI
    RW8C2 Nvidia GeForce GTX 970, 4 GB memory GDDR5 DVI-I/DP/DP/DP/HDMI, double/single
    H4P1K Nvidia GeForce GTX 960, 2 GB memory GDDR5 DVI-I/DP/DP/DP/HDMI, double/single
    C58PP Nvidia GeForce GTX 950, 2 GB memory GDDR5 DVI-I/DP/DP/DP/HDMI, double/single
    YX6VC AMD R9 370, RD14D-P1-70, 4 GB memory GDDR5, double/single DVI-I/DVI-D/DP/HDMI

If the user chooses the processors non - K (i7-6700, 6400-i5, i3-6100), they can always choose the multi-GPU 850w power supply and run installation dual video card.

  • Aurora-R4, EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW DT?

So I have a r4 aurorora and I want to install a gtx 1080 because my 2 sli cards are really bad, I can't even newish play

    Data sheet:

    Intel Core I7 - 3930K @ 3, 3.20 GHz 20GHz processor

    RAM: 16 GB

Video cards: GTX in SLI 2 660

My source will give enough power to the GTX 1080, and there the necessary pins

    It's the GTX 1080 I www.evga.com/.../Product.aspx

The PSU Aurora-R4 875w will suffice. Use pin 8 PSU leads P15 and P17. You must open the housing cover and find the POWER cords, they could be returned or bound out of the way when not in use.

    Intel I7 - 6700 K OC'd to 4.4 Ghz

    16GB (2x8GB) 2133 MHz DDR4 Non - Ecc

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 (this is what I want to upgrade)

    330W external power adapter

    Windows Pro 10

Stock motherboard (I don't know the model)

    Thanks in advance.

Theoretically, it is possible, however, M Dell-Chris said none of the X-51 series computers will be validated in support of graphics cards from Nvidia series 10 x 0.  I think that the amplifier can, however I can't find the FAQ which has officially declared it.  Nevertheless, I would like to use the amplifier in any case.

  • Installation amplifier Alienware w / GTX 1080 on X 51 R3

    Hello

I understand how to physically install the card, but what is the process to get it running on the system?

I currently have a GTX 970 in the system:

    (1) do I need to install the 1080 drivers before I plug in the amp and map 1080? (If Yes, should I uninstall the drivers to GTX 970?)

    (2) or I plug the amp and 1080 startup card then after install drivers for the 1080? (again, I have need to uninstall the drivers to GTX 970 before install?)

To clear up some confusion, all latest drivers Nvidia WHQL (desktop and laptop) supports the AGA. No, you don't need to uninstall 970 drivers. Just install the Nvidia WHQL desktop driver that works for both video cards.

    * Go here
    * Open application
    * If it is installed, install the "Alienware graphic Software Application external amplifier.
    * Restart the computer when done
    * Go here
    * Install the office driver WHQL
    * Restart the computer when done
    * Connect the AGM to the computer
    * You should see two lists under the graphics cards in Device Manager

No consequence do not use FE gtx edition 1080 for a r2 Area 51. As I have an EVGA sc avx 3.0?

As a general rule, the addition of a video card do not void the warranty. There are some exceptions.
    * You broke the slot of the motherboard or motherboard itself when trying to install
    * You have changed the chassis in a way
    * You ripped or torn off when trying to wiring

On the USA site, none of the four configurations allow 1080 double. Only and only on the builds of 1st, 3rd and 4th. The United Kingdom site does not list even the 1080.
