11.1.2.2 - ODBC SQL Connect Error

Hello

I am trying to create an ODBC SQL Server connection.  I created the ODBC connection on the Essbase server and my laptop where I am under EAS from successfully.  However, when I try and connect to SQL, I get:

There is no data source is defined. "SQL Data Sources" option will be disabled

My ODBC connections the two succeed when I click on the button TEST connectivity in the ODBC Administrator.

How can I get the Regional Service to recognize the connection ODBC/s?

Looks like I need to create a "System DSN" not a DSN 'user '.  I think it's fixed...

  • [Oracle] [ODBC SQL Server driver] [libssclient22] General network error

    I use the oracle gateway (11.1) to sqlserver on Linux platform with the Oracle 10 g server.

    I'm getting following error when I run a select query:

    ORA-28500: connection between ORACLE and a non-Oracle system has sent this message:
    [Oracle] [ODBC SQL Server driver] [libssclient22] General network error. Check your network documentation. [Oracle] [ODBC SQL Server driver] [libssclient22] ConnectionOpen(connect()) (connect()). [Oracle] [ODBC SQL Server driver] Invalid connection string attribute
    ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines from SQLSERVER

    Another thing is, I've created an ODBC DSN named "sqlserver" as well. This configuration works well when the parameter "program" dg4odbc in Listener.ora. But with dg4msql, it gives an error.

    Here are the configuration files:

    -----------------
    initsqlserver.ora
    -----------------
    #
    # HS init parameters
    #
    HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = database_machine:1433 / / test_master
    HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = OFF
    HS_FDS_RECOVERY_ACCOUNT = RECOVERY
    HS_FDS_RECOVERY_PWD = RECOVERY

    ------------
    Listener.ora
    ------------

    SID_LIST_sqlserver =
    (SID_LIST =
    (SID_DESC =
    (SID_NAME = sqlserver)
    (ORACLE_HOME = u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0.6.0/gateway)
    (PROGRAM = dg4msql)
    )
    )

    SqlServer =
    (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = Server_Machine)(PORT = 1522))
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = CIP)(KEY = PNPKEY))
    )
    )

    ------------
    tnsnames.ora
    ------------

    SQLSERVER =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = Server_Machine)(PORT = 1522))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = sqlserver)
    )
    (HS = OK)
    )

    Hello

    The error you are getting is because your HS_FDS_CONNECT_STRING is not correct:
    Don't forget you can ping the SQL SERVER name of the Oracle server command, or use the TCP/IP address
    Check the port, it is not necessary 1433.
    You can use the name of the instance instead of the port:
    HS_FDS_CONNECT_STRING = server_ip_address/instance_name/database_name

    Be careful, in the LISTENER. ORA, you must specify the gateway machine and not the SQL SERVER machine:
    SqlServer =
    (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = Gateway_Machine)(PORT = 1522))<====you must="" specify="" oracle="" gateway="">
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = CIP)(KEY = PNPKEY))
    )
    )

    Ditto for TNSNAMES. ORA:
    SQLSERVER =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = Gateway_Machine)(PORT = 1522))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = sqlserver)
    )
    (HS = OK)
    )

  • Connection failed SQL State 08001 SQL Server Error 10061 SQL Native Client TCP provider no. could be made because the target machine actively refused it

    Wandering SQL Native Client Datasource - apparently, it's a pretty common problem and I see several resolutions to it.  This problem started for our long company until I started working here.  We do not allow remote connections.  JDE Enterprise Server and SQL server are on the same subnet.  Users are on a different subnet.  SQL Server gets this message tries to connect to the Server Enterprise JDE:

    Connection failed: State 08001 ' SQL': SQL Server Error 10061: Microsoft SQL Native Client TCP provider: no connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

    I tried several suggested solutions and do not get the case. Any help is appreciated. Thank you, Sophie

  • Win XP VM Player ODBC connection errors

    Hello VMware Forums,

    I am running Windows 7 on my machine of bare metal.  I installed VM Player and an XP VM to host my existing applications, such as our old school (HEAT) Helpdesk ticketing software.  It requires an ODBC DSN system on a server connection using the MS Access driver.  The virtual machine has been added to the field.

    I have install a ping running between my host and client and have not dropped a single package.  After about 5 minutes of running the application, I go to hell ODBC and get a steady flow of connection ODBC errors causing application crash and my session to hang.

    I checked the server logs and found that I authenticate me every 2 seconds until the server got sick of me and my application was refused.  Obviously when I go into the hell of the ODBC.

    Issues related to the:

    1. can I reconfigure the virtual NETWORK adapter to use the same subnet as my corporate network? This would make a difference, because I can communicate between client and server, host transparently?

    2. the installation of a 2nd NIC in my host would help the situation?

    3. any other suggestions? I can't do my job without this software... ;-(

    Thank you very much!

    I'm not sure I follow you.  I managed to corrupt the database application well.  Who made my day!

    Sorry, my fault. You said it's the always-connected host, not the comments.

    Is there a reason why an ODBC DSN connection does not smoothly in a virtual machine?  It seems that the connection is not stable enough to keep the Access database to panic...

    No, I don't know why it should not work in normal circumstances. I guess that needs deeper investigations. But what I've seen is (yet) that you use NAT to the customer. Which makes things maybe a little more complicated. When you use inbound NAT connections fail, as these needs to be rerouted to the guest. In addition the IP hosts will not appear on the network. All packets appear to come from the host, as it acts as a proxy for the guest.

    You will better use 'bridge' for the vNIC to the guest and you can then use the physical subnet IP address range.

    Do I you just that the prompt is one that tries to connect through ODBC to a database on the physical network server?

    I'm new to MS SQL and do not know if I put it in place correctly. My settings for the DS are as follows:

    Server: localhost port 1433 (if I change (local) takes the time out)

    I have the DS, Database, login, password everywhere. The password and the name is for cold fusion to be able to execute queries and correct stuff? It is not a defined password to access the database? The database has been imported from a system to the top and is located at ServerName\Databases\DB_Name. I need to plug the DB to MS SQL Server somehow? I can

    You filled in the blanks - but what information did you use to do this?

    Whites must be filled with existing information about a database and a user. The information may point to Oracle 10 g, 10g, 11g, and others, but the database and the user must exist to complete the connection.

    As a (future) computer, ask yourself "how this connection information that you are testing are indeed correct and valid. It might be useful to have this discussion here...

    Firefox quote plugin Adobe Flash as being outdated (has happened several times previously); the latest version of the plugin is downloaded (as done successfully many times before). This time, a connection error occurs. Repeat the process several times over several days gives the same results.

    More in detail, the smallest prior download EXE which is first downloaded from the Adobe site is able to be downloaded, but by operating it said something like "Download will begin shortly," with the download of the application itself never occurring, and a later message connection error.

    Although there seems to be a problem with Adobe, I suppose that other Firefox users would have also encountered this problem and he may know a solution.
