  I am writing a VI to control PWM with a microcontroller via a serial port. I wrote a simple code for the microcontroller that allows me to set the ratio of duty cycle on a scale of 0-65535. It works very well with Termite of Compuphase (RS-232 plug); The microcontroller invited me to an entry, expected that I would one, updates and expected another entry when I decided to send him.   I tried which allows characters of endpoint in the hope that the writing would end at the end and go to reading where he would receive a termination character and wait for me allow writing once again, but nothing helped. I still have to alternate between the two and either get no response on reading several updates of variable accuracy.   In other words, frankly, a good bad example you according to your code. Also, you have the order of writing and read upside down in your amendment if the instrument requires a command to return something. It should really be using a structure of the event. The structure of the event around a write and read and use a value change event. I have attached a quick change. This mod is still a reading after writing.   I have a few questions on the use of the OMB-DAQ-3005 with different sampling rates high.

  For our application, we have 8 analog inputs. Which two are a quick response and should be sampled frequently.  We have an encoder quadrature (CPR 1000 running at 1800 rpm).  We plan to sample X 4 encoder.  For the analog inputs for the quick response, we want to trigger a sample of each pulse or each a few pulses, thus creating a timestamp with the position of the encoder with respect to position index as well as two fast analog inputs.  We have data correlating the analog inputs with the position of the encoder.   Other analog inputs, we want to measure relatively slowly (for example once every 5 dry or similar).

  How can I go on the configuration of the two (or more) sampling rates different wherein I can taste entered at different frequencies?  Also, is there a way to reset the encoder count after outbreak of the index as I have the position of the encoder with respect to the index?

  Maybe you'll find someone here who uses the OMB-DAQ-3005, but this forum is really more designed for LabVIEW programming issues.

  I've never used the OMB-DAQ-3005, but out of curiosity, I took a glance at the Manual of OMB-DAQ-3005.  The answer to both your questions are:

  1. you cannot run a hardware DQA Multiplex (like this one) at independent rates by channel.

  2. the OMB-DAQ-3005 supports an Index Z feature to reset the counter - look for documentation on how to configure any software interface you are using.  If you get stuck, you can try to discover media appropriate for instrument channel.

  I tried to install on Vista Ultimate x 64 German language pack, but it failed with error code 2. The KB942903 hotfix for x 64 (also tried x 86) does not install with the message "this update does not apply to your system.

  I rebooted several times and tried to erase the directory SoftwareDistribution\downloads, no change.

  The log file is not really favourable, weird things only I see is:

  1. What is the service pack installed on the computer?

  This problem occurs if a previous Windows Update process did not cause the computer to be in a corrupted state. This prevents the installation of any language pack.

  I suggest that you reset the Windows Update components and you try to install the pack of language, to check if it works.
