  My first thought is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." for, check the release notes for the update of the BIOS see what patches (if any) are listed.

  You do not indicate that you have problems with your laptop at the moment... I'd wait until users more download and install this before to commit to a new BIOS.

  Bought a 8 flow a little more than a year and my son accidentally deleted the operating system. Get a new copy of windows to reload but he keeps asking an administrator password in the BIOS. I have never created a whole first if no clue of what would be another, a preload of HP. I tried to enter the numbers that I have found in previous posts here but no luck so far. I called HP support and don't have a system scan to ensure that the material was beautiful, is it. The person I spoke with told me that I should not have difficulties to install a new OS. It says boot from efi, but it does not detect the SD card or USB key. Help, please! I would rather not a $200 weight barely used.

  I get the message on the application of hp support install Ganges Colorado V1.0 status update on my HP flow 8. But when I select Install runs for about an hour and then fails. It fails during the installation step after the success of the download. My windows update is current.  I tried this several times a week and always get that number. Help, please.

  Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that an update of the BIOS recommended by HP Support Assistant is crashes when you try to install it. I'm happy to help you.

  Note that in general the BIOS updates are not mandatory. It is not a bad idea to do so, but if everything works well, it is not necessary. That being said, I would suggest to backup your data to an external device before doing anything else.

  Then try a refresh of your tablet as follows:

  HP computers - refresh your PC to solve problems (Windows 8)

  See if the BIOS update will now work for you. If this isn't the case, then try a reset.

  HP computers - reset your PC to solve problems (Windows 8)

  I see that the bios isn't appearing any more for download for this machine at least.

  I guess that means I have to use the HP software (whatever his name) look for driver updates etc and this would include updates to the bios...

  The problem is my pc is not connected to the internet (and cannot be), so I need to download the actual file.

  Is this possible?

  If not, can someone confirm for me that the HP software would update of the bios as well, and that is the most recent version, that I do not have information on any page... (I could start from a windows pe cd of bart)

  I'm glad your problem is solved. Surely will guide you on how to find the latest drivers for the unit.

  1. go to www.hp.com

  2. click Help and choose Download drivers.

  3. choose laptops.

  4 type Hp Stream 11 Pro and choose Energy Star

  5. it will take you to a page where in you can select the operationg System.

  6. you will be able to install the drivers for the device.
