11g ADF Faces on server SOA Oracle 10g deployment

Respected by all,
I have 10g Oracle SOA server, I want to set up a portal with ADF Faces and deployed on Oracle 10 g SOA Server.

(1) ADF Faces Version can I use? (10g or 11g)

(2) what should I take the JDeveloper 10 g or 11 g for my development license?

Thank you and best regards,
Vijay chraibi

Vijay,

(1) 10 g. 11g NO - it is well documented that 11g does not work on the server 10g

(2) I am not a representative of Oracle license, but if I understand JDeveloper licenses, simply to allow for the deployment of the FAD, not development. You can buy support for JDeveloper, however. Best thing is to get an official response from your Oracle Sales Rep, however.

  • Where is the HTML of JDeveloper 11g ADF FACES?

I use JDeveloper 11.1.1.2.0 for my project. I remembered in 10g I a list of HTML tags such as, afh:tableLayout, afh:cellFormat, etc. under ADF FACES HTML package. However, in new JDeveloper 11 g, I saw that ADF carrots and there is no ADF Faces HTML tag. They are always available in 11g? If so, how can I install these tags in JDeveloper 11 g?

You will need to add the components of the Trinity to your project - tags are there.
But the question is if you really need to use these components, or maybe the layout components that provide the ADF Faces will be enough for you.

  • ADF Faces 11g on IBM WebSphere Application Server 7

    Hello

We deploy a product 11g ADF Faces on WebSphere AS 7 (a Java EE 5 certified container, available from September 9, 2008).

I could not find any information on the question of whether this is possible. It seems not officially certified (but wait it should work).

Release Notes State: "< em > ADF 11g applications require a Java EE 5 container.» To date, only Oracle WebLogic Server 10g (10.3) is certified, and we intend to support both JBoss and Tomcat. Note, 10.1.3 OC4J and/or OAS 10.1.3 is not fully compliant Java EE 5 and ADF 11 g applications will not work in this environment. < /em >.
ADF 10 g support WAS 6 and other containers, so I really hope that it is a timing issue and not a victim of the acquisition of BEA.

    -Anyone

    (a) have experience with 11 g & WAS7?

    (b) knowledge if Oracle is planning document or certify has BEEN supported in the future? (and if so, when)

    Thanks thanks in advance!

    David.

WebSphere 7 certification for the ADF is on our to-do list, but probably would be done for the next version of JDeveloper 11 g.
If you use just ADF Faces and not the rest of the ADF frame - I don't expect too many problems - you might want to try and see how it works today - and let us know if you encounter any problems.

  • Doesn't have JHeadstart capable of converting Forms 10g times 11g and 10g ADF Faces?

We would like to buy for JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 JHeadstart generator g 10 forms to ADF Faces. This version of JHeadstart capable of converting forms 10g 10 g ADF Faces. But I want a universal JHeadstart generator ADF Faces, who will be able to convert forms 10g times 11g and 10g ADF Faces. Please help me by your valuable suggestion/advice.

Try asking on the JHeadstart forum:

As far as I KNOW, JHeadstart 11 g is still not released.

  • Migration of application (using the Trinity) 11G ADF Rich Faces

    Hi all

We have recently completed the migration of the ADF/JSF application of 10G, hosted on OAS to Trinidad hosted on WebLogic Server 11G. Next step is to move from the Trinity to rich faces.

    1. our request is not too complicated, but it's not too straight forward or the other. It is interfaced with Oracle BPEL and DRM (data relationship management) and has 20 + pages. Is there a way to estimate how much time/effort is required for this migration?

    2. automatic migration of 10 g and 11 G (usingTrinidad) was quite chaotic. What kind of effort is migration 11G application using ADF Rich Faces trinidad? What is the meaning of ' you have to manually re-doing the UI "?"

If any of you have done this kind of migration, please share your experiences.

    Thank you

One thing to think is maybe rethink your UI. ADF Faces 11 g can create a radically different compared to 10 g interface or Trinity - think of things like accordions, dispatchers, dashboards, tabs, pop-up windows on the plan of the presentation of the user interface and the ability to have much more than information on one page. Add to this the ability to dynamically switch the content of a page with dynamic regions and offered by taskflows reusability.
So if you really want to take advantage of the components 11g you should look at what UI you wanted to create with these abilities then redraw your user interface and redesign so that it matches this.
Your model and business services cannot stay the same no need to touch.

  • ADF Faces 10g: setting up emulate IE7 mode in IE8 using meta tag

I have problems setting up the metatag for the IE7 Mode. I have to add the meta tag just after the head tag but afh:head tag generates its own metatag as well as another code.

    JSP code:
    < afh:head title = 'Forms' >
    * < meta http-equiv = "X-UA-Compatible" content = "IE = EmulateIE7" / > *.
    < / afh:head >

released on the duration of HTML:
    Forms < head > < title > < / title > < name meta = "generator" content = "Oracle ADF Faces" > < link rel = "stylesheet" charset = "UTF - 8" type = "text/css" href="/IE8Test-ViewController-context-root/adf/styles/cache/oracle-desktop-10_1_3_4_0-en-ie.css;jsessionid=abc" > < script > var AdfWindowOpenError =' a window blocker was detected in your browser.» Popups blockers interfere with the operation of this application. Please disable your Blocker for popups or allow popups from this site.'; < /script > < script src = "/ IE8Test-ViewController-context-root/adf/jsLibs/Common101_3_4_0.js; jsessionid = f860a28964c33a5fae90eeaf3726da48b147854ee2ad990a4ba70279b67ea0dd" > < / script > < script _defaultTZ() > < /script >
    * < meta http-equiv = "X-UA-Compatible" content = "IE = EmulateIE7" / > *.
    < / head >

Copy the following code will not work my page in IE7 mode.

However, if I change the code of
    < head title = 'Forms' >
    < meta http-equiv = "X-UA-Compatible" content = "IE = EmulateIE7" / >
    < / head >

It will work in IE7 to IE8 mode.

    1. is there something I can do to replace the code generated by my own meta tag if I use afh:head tag?
    2. If I use head html, what effects it will have on my code? I noticed that the fonts do not work properly, I think it's due to the links generated for skin is are more referenced.

    Any suggestion is recommended.

    Thank you

I managed to solve the problem of deployment by modifying the deployment under the Application properties configuration:

    1. unselect Auto Generate and Synchronize weblogic - jdbc.xml deployment descriptors

2 deselect the credentials under Security Deployment Options

3 deselect users and groups under deployment and Security Options

I think auto generation of weblogic deployment descriptor - jdbc.xml was most probably the origin of the problem.

    Thank you.

  • Imported a few diagrams of Oracle database 11g oracle 10g

    Hello

I have the task to import some schemas are basis of oracle 10g (10.2.0.4) in the database to oracle 11 GR 2 (11.2.0.2). Now I only oracle 10g export and import utility (the 11g server is not where I give myself the import duties).

I can do the export of the g 10 patterns using the 10 g utility to export and then import into database 11 g using the 10 g import utility? I ran a test to do this and found it works but I would like also to have advice from experts on this subject.

Also another question is: If the schema of the source is 11g - assume - can the utility of export/import of 10g still work in this case? I mean the scheme for the export of db1 say (which is 11 g) using 10 g utility to export and import them into 11 g db2 database (which is still 11 g) using 10 g import? I request because I don't have access to the 11g server and trying to find what I can do with the 10g utilities.

    Thank you

set up a database connection to the database to version 10 gr 2 in 11 GR 2 database.
Now using the client impdp GR 11, 2 utility use
    Impdp network_link =

    Fact.
Your "objection" you have no access to GR 2 11 does not count that you can install a client of 11 GR 2.

Also in general do not use a version more low imp to imp to a higher version database
Exp and imp are also deprecated in 10g and more.

  • JDeveloper 11g and Oracle 10g XE

    Hello

I checked my model and can't seem to insert and delete records of Oracle XE 10 g database using JDeveloper 11 g. However, when I try to delete and add records using ADF Faces of the delete and insert into database does not work. I have a table ADF Faces and forms to ADF Faces. None of my buttons submit works. Can someone tell me why this is the case? Upgrade to version 11g Oracle XE beta?

    Thank you

If its greyed out so have you checked the property disabled your button?... and have you had your operation validation in place to validate the record on the database?

  • Oracle 11g compatibility with oracle 10g and 9i?

    Hi all

I have a few questions about the compatibility of 11g.

Client Oracle 11g is compatible with oracle 10g client that is already installed on the desktop computer?

If any changes to do so and where?

Is oracle 11g oracle 10 g/9i on the same server where are installed the 10 g/9i compatible?

    Concerning

If the question you ask yourself is 'Can I have multiple versions of the Oracle installed on the same client computer' or "Can I have several versions of the database Oracle installed on the same machine", the answer is Yes. As long as you install each version in another House of Oracle, and we are talking about versions 8.1.5 and upward, you can have as many different versions of the client and the database on the same machine as you wish. Of course, you are still subject to the support of operating system compatibility (e.g. Oracle 9.2 did not had been supported on Windows 2008, so do not expect to work).

The only problem you may have would be with components that are not compatible with several House. This mainly affects third-party Windows drivers (drivers third party ODBC, etc.) who do not know how to work with multiple Oracle homes and end up using which version of the client Oracle happens to appear first in the path.

  • OC4J activation/install on a server where IAS Oracle 10g is already running

We have a server with Oracle IAS 11.1.1.6.0 Standard Edition is already installed. I'm new to this product.

To check which components of invasive alien species have been installed, I did a 'opmnctl status '.

    ---------------------------------+--------------------+---------+---------

IAS-component | process type. The NEST |   status

    ---------------------------------+--------------------+---------+---------

    webcache1 | WebCache admin |    ---- | Alive

    webcache1 | WebCache.    ---- | Alive

    ohs1                | OHS                         |   ---- | Alive

For me this has indicated that only the SST and the Web Cache are installed. Is - this right of assessment?

I'm deploying an accounting application and a couple of small web services entirely written in Java.

How can I go on the installation/activation of other components such as OC4J (Java containers), forms, reports, etc. without disturbing the existing installation or to re - install everything the product?

    Hello Mohan,

Yes, only SST and webcache seeks to be installed.

First of all, I want to clarify that OC4J is no longer delivered with version 11g of invasive alien species which is better known under the name of Fusion Middleware.

    OC4J only comes with IAS 10 g (OAS 10 g).

WebLogic server is the container for java that is used with versions of 11g.

Now if you want to install forms and reports is available as the last in the versions below:

    11.1.1.7

    11.1.2.2

To do this, you must first download and install weblogic 10.3.6, followed by the installation of the forms, reports under the same roof of Middleware.

    Here are the download links.

  • Oracle 10g and 11g reports

    Hello

  • Urgent: db link from oracle 10g to sql server 2000

    Hello

I have an oracle 10g db connection to sql server 2000. It was created a couple of years. This works.

I have now created another link db of the same oracle on the same sql server server but it does not work.

    But I'm getting ORA-28500 and error IM002

    . Please notify.

I can't understand what is wrong as I followed the hs odbc set up on this link db in the same way as I did 2 years ago.

    Thank you

    Shailaja

    Just sort the problem.

Basically, I use HSODBC to connect to SQL Server from Oracle (on windows 2003 64-bit).

To do this, I need to create a connection ODBC from Oracle to SQL Server.

HSODBC is a 32-bit application and is why we use the ODBC 32-bit driver when we create the ODBC connection.

When I created the connection ODBC from Oracle to SQL Server, I used the ODBC 64-bit driver and that's why the system could not find the name of the data source.

I have now created connection ODBC from Oracle to SQL Server via the ODBC 32-bit driver and everything works fine now.

No offense to anyone, but as you all works using Oracle software, I was hoping a better answer than some of the answers above. You can say that you did not understand the question or you do not know the reason why it happened.

I have just listed how the problem was fixed so that in the future one having the same problem can benefit.
