Question:
====
I put "db_recovery_file_dest" and I can see the files of archive log go to the flash_recovery_area.
But what I'm confused is, at the same time a second pair of Archive Log file goes to my $ORACLE_HOME/dbs location. I have not defined any log_archive_dest or more.
Why do I have two sets of files to archive log (one will Flash_Recovery_area and the other $ORACLE_HOME/dbs)?
Lily
In 11.1.0.6 log_archive_dest_1 wrote in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/default, and log_archive_dest_10 wrote to default db_recovery_file_dest. You can watch v$ archive_dest to see where things are actually be written.
You can change the FRA log_archive_dest_1:
alter system set log_archive_dest_1='location=USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST' scope=both;
I think that it is in fact a bug, but I don't have a practical number.
Kind regards

Hi all
I am trying to automate an archive restore the logs, but I'm getting confused with the path.
I put the path of the newspaper archive in sql as C:\JFBBackup more
It creates a unique file for each sequence.SQL> archive log list; Database log mode Archive Mode Automatic archival Enabled Archive destination C:\JFBBackup Oldest online log sequence 46 Next log sequence to archive 48 Current log sequence 48
Now RMAN shows a different path as a single file: C:\APP\ADMINISTRATOR\PRODUCT\11.1.0\DB_1\DATABASE\20LIO9RS_1_1
I use dbms_backup_restore.restoreBackupPiece but I need to have the only log files in a separate folder in order to get the name of the file, create my sql file and restore in my REMOTE zone.RMAN> list backup of archivelog all; List of Backup Sets =================== BS Key Size Device Type Elapsed Time Completion Time ------- ---------- ----------- ------------ --------------- 60 98.72M DISK 00:00:09 14-JUL-10 BP Key: 60 Status: AVAILABLE Compressed: NO Tag: TAG20100714T061940 Piece Name: C:\APP\ADMINISTRATOR\PRODUCT\11.1.0\DB_1\DATABASE\20LIO9RS_1_1 List of Archived Logs in backup set 60 Thrd Seq Low SCN Low Time Next SCN Next Time ---- ------- ---------- --------- ---------- --------- 1 45 1577060 13-JUL-10 1611007 13-JUL-10 1 46 1611007 13-JUL-10 1644153 14-JUL-10 1 47 1644153 14-JUL-10 1649121 14-JUL-10

NT may respond to your request because the source files and destination are the same
Hi, thanks for reading.
I'm having this problem and it is driving me crazy.
I'm actually following a tutorial that you can check it out here: http://nightshifted.Tumblr.com/post/2559360661/tutorial-paused-animations
Basically, I'm trying to make a gif animated with canvas (I'm sorry if my English is not so great). When I try to drag the layers in the canvas (step 2 of the tutorial), I get the error: "could not complete your request because the source and destination are the same."
can someone help me? I have CS3 and CS5 and they get the error in both.
Thank you in advance
I think they mean Select layers and images and using the tool move, drag
inside the document (click inside the document window and drag) to move the
Choose the layers to half superior (transparent area), is not to drag the layers of
the palette of layers in the document, which would give this error.

Not sure why this is happening. I uninstalled and installed LR3 three times on my laptop computer Dell running WINDOWS 7. I have 8 GB of RAM and a 750 HD concert. The processor is an Intel Core i5. As required, I have enough material to run LR3. I installed the updates while I am running LR 3.6. For some reason, I am unable to locate the sections of 'Destination' on the right column and of "change of file name." The "file management" and "Apply when importing" are visible. I am enrolled in the program with Adobe and think I have all the current updates. The program is loaded in 64-bit mode.
Someone has to meet this problem before?
I couldn't get the program works correctly without being able to have access to elements missing for download.
Move or copy mode, try right click on one of the headings on the right side and choose Show all.
Ja.

Thank you.First of all, thank you for taking my comment or the constructively. And 2nd, I apologize if you found my comment as rude, I didn't do it. The line I wrote "let oracle docs to be your friend" is a sentense I always use and used as you requested that you need a reference where it says to use FSMTT only as the other parameters. This is why I gave the link to the doc and tried to cnvey the message that its documented. This was my intention. I try to stay away from making personal comments of any kind. I aplogize if I seem disrespectful to you. I know most certainly not in a position that I can act like one all-knowing-expert and less than other disrespectnig.
Yes, he did sound that does not (and do not) read the docs, based again on the question you asked. Normally what I observe is tht if someone has a habit of reading docs, he finds the right to answeer, at least as to the questions as a reference parameter. This caused my assumption that I was wrong about the base.
I agree with your points. If one reads the Google search results, he should be able to seggregate of chafff wheat, who; s everything I say all the time. And readnig docs shows abot it. Docs being long and boring, I agree.
It's a lot of work for a day and it probably means, I know very less compared to you :-).
in any case, hope you understood my point of view and all the dust is clear now. So I guess, I should sayas member colleagues, welcome to the forums otn forums! :-) .

ACFS using as a destination of the newspaper archive?
Perhaps a bit of a hair-brain idea, but...
I have my diskgroup ACFS set up for my V1 and V2 systems. We do not use it for anything because we have a batch processing server connected to the IB fabric that we run everything (batch processing, etc.) of. No need to use ACFS to export files or external tables...
On the V2, it is SYSTEMDG and it has a usable 288 GB total free space
On the V1, this is DBFS_DG and it has a usable 858 GB total free space
We have our archivelogs goes to the quick recovery area. Of course, we take great care using this diskgroup and we have various jobs/scripts that trigger if we reached a certain threshold of use and kick off a backup archivelog (with a deletion).
If I wanted to configure Flashback Database, Flashback logs should go in the area of fast recovery, according to the documentation. "If I activate the Flashback Database, Flashback logs themselves will not erase until they are required to do, that could prove difficult for our script as the FRA will always be 100% complete"
We could, I suppose, modify the script to calculate the size of the archivelogs only and use it as a trigger and, without a doubt, this is by far the easiest way, but I was wondering if anyone had use ACFS to accommodate the archivelogs.
I think you can almost put "anything" in the ACFS exception 'of Oracle files that can be stored in ASM' - this means no doubt that archivelogs ACFS is unusable.
Did anyone tried something like this? Looks like a great loss of a decent amount of space for me.
Markmarksmithusa wrote:
>However, imagine that for the sake of argument, that I was not allowed to carry out the work to create a new diskgroup on my current system: could I put the archivelogs on DBFS_DG?
Of course, as long as DBFS_DG the level of redundancy, you need (i.e. NORMAL).

(1) create pfile from spfile;

(3) configure log_archive_dest_1
Note: do not remove the db_recovery_file_dest, db_recovery_file_dest_size, and parameters. they may be required at another time

Simultaneous source and destination NAT on PIX
Hello;
It's my first PIX configuration, and I am facing a problem; I need to do nat source and destination at the same time, and I don't see how.
The problem is I need an internal host (172.1.1.1), connection to say 172.17.20.30:5000, have IP source translated into 172.17.20.51, and translated into destination IP/port to 10.15.2.5:1414.
At the moment there is a Linux machine with iptables does work, and I need to get to work.
Thanks in advance;
Francisco.
Translate address of host b and outside port:
static (dmz1, outside) interface 80 172.16.1.1 90
Definition of HostA to dmz1 Pix interface. Make sure that you use a group nat number not in use:
NAT (outside) 7 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.255 outside
Global (dmz1) interface 7

backup and backup backupset input remove, remove THE newspaper archive?
Hi all
I'm kinda new to RMAN and I'm going through the book Oracle Press backup and restore.
I'm a bit confused. I thought that when you run a database backup more archivelogs entry delete or backup backupset any input remove... it would have save can delete your directories of log_archive_dest_n archiving logs?
For example, my settings are:
db_recovery_file_dest/data5/oradata/flash_recovery_area
Log_archive_dest_1 location = / oradata/innocuite6/testdb5
location of LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_10 = USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST
(log_archive_dest_(2-9) are not defined
Now, when I did a backup with remove entry, I see a difference ini the table v$ flash_recovery_area_usage:
Start:
FILE_TYPE PERCENT_SPACE_USED PERCENT_SPACE_RECLAIMABLE NUMBER_OF_FILES
-------------------- ------------------ ------------------------- ---------------
CONTROL 0 FILE 0 0
REDO LOG 0 0 0
ARCHIVED JOURNAL 10.46 10.46 72
BACKUP 25,84 PIECE 17,22 59
COPY OF IMAGE 0 0 0
JOURNAL OF THE FLASHBACK 0 0 0
JOURNAL ARCHIVED FOREIGN 0 0 0
Final:
FILE_TYPE PERCENT_SPACE_USED PERCENT_SPACE_RECLAIMABLE NUMBER_OF_FILES
-------------------- ------------------ ------------------------- ---------------
CONTROL 0 FILE 0 0
REDO LOG 0 0 0
JOURNAL ARCHIVE.33.33 4
BACKUP 25.42 PIECE 12.22 61
COPY OF IMAGE 0 0 0
JOURNAL OF THE FLASHBACK 0 0 0
JOURNAL ARCHIVED FOREIGN 0 0 0
However, when I watch/data6/oradata/testdb5
All logs files .dbf files are there... nothing is deleted.
If you have this model in place, with newspapers archive password area of flashback AND to another location... you have to write a script or manually go delete newspapers in the region to spare? If you give some tips on how to know what to delete? I thought, if... that RMAN would take care of the newspapers in all areas when you their saved and the flag 'remove entry '.
Thanks in advance,
CayenneIf you want to remove the archivelogs in destinations specified, you must issue "delete all entries. When the archivelogs backup RMAN, it backs up only one copy (of a destination) and "entry delete ' (not all) deletes only this copy, it does not touch the archivelogs in other destinations.
You can remove the archivelogs explicitly (outside of a backup command) with "delete archivelog all; But you should not do this without a previous backup archivelog.Werner

Question about the destination of the archive.
Hi all
When we have defined the destination archived at the log_archive_dest parameter as:
SQL > alter game LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_ system... = "resume location = / archivelogpath ';
Could you help me to know about 'reopen' keyword here. Please help me find out what this means and what is the use of it. I forgot to put the issue of the oracle documentation.
Best regards
Michel.
Documentation:
Rearchiving to Destination failed
Use the
REOPEN
attribute of theLOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_
n
parameter to specify if and when ARCn should attempt to rearchive to destination failed due to an error.REOPEN
applies to all errors, not onlyOPEN
errors.REOPEN=
n
sets the minimum number of seconds until ARCn must try to reopen a destination failed. The default value of n is 300 seconds. A value of 0 is the same as turning off theREOPEN
attribute. ARCn will not attempt to archive after a failure. If you do not specify theREOPEN
keyword, ARCn will never reopen a destination as a result of a mistake. You cannot use
REOPEN
to specify the number of retries ARCn should do to reconnect and transfer archives newspapers. TheREOPEN
attempt succeeds or fails. When you specify
REOPEN
for aOPTIONAL
destination, the database can replace newspapers online, if there is an error. If you specifyREOPEN
for aMANDATORY
destination, the database stops the production database when he can't archive successfully. In this case, consider the following options:- Archive manually on the destination failed.
- Change the destination by deferring the destination, by specifying the destination as optional or by changing the service.
- Drop the destination.
When you use the
REOPEN
keyword, note the following:- ARCn reopens a destination only when starting a check-in operation since the beginning of the log file, never during an ongoing operation. ARCn always retry the copy of the newspaper from the beginning.
- If you have specified
REOPEN
, with some default time, ARCn checks to see if the point of the error recorded more theREOPEN
interval is less than current time. If this is the case, ARCn retries the copy of the newspaper. - The
REOPEN
clause successfully affects himACTIVE=TRUE
State of destination. TheVALID
andENABLED
States are not changed.
