    Hello
    Think maybe it's a bug - there are a number of issues related to this kind of thing and I think you should be on 10.2.0.3 at least to do this.

    Sorry - iniitially I thought that you were shooting 10 g (and not the reverse).

  • A 10G database can house catalog for an 11G database?

    Hi all

    I'm experimenting with 11G. I've "improved" a (export-import datapump) instance of an instance of 10G to 11G.

    Our database that we use to catalog RMAN is 10G.

    I created a new user of rman11 on the catalogue instance. He was granted the appropriate privs/roles.

    11G machine, I connected through RMAN catalog user, that I had just created. I rant the create catalog command, which seemed to run successfully.

    I tried then to save the database 11G with the new catalogue and things exploded.

    I was under the impression that the version of the database of the catalogue of accommodation did not matter, only that you used the correct version of RMAN to create the catalog. Isn't this true?

    I'm not find much on this error so far regarding configurations RMAN, with updates from 10 to 11.

    Links or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    You hit a bug as explained in this metalink note:

    Cannot save 11.1.0.6 database with Rman catalog - ERROR ORA-04023

    You don't tell a version number (10g, 11g market labels), the problem should be solved when the catalog database is - at least - to version 10.2.0.3.

    Well, the solution could be as simple as that. Instead of left-clicking the executable command prompt or shortcut, hold SHIFT key and right click. This gives you the "Run as Administrator" option.

  • Listeners 11g and 10g

    Hello

    I have two databases 11g and 10g on a single server.
    11g uses a port 1522 10 g using port 1521.

    At the start of the 11 g database I get the following error:

    ORA-00132: error syntax or network name not resolved "LISTENER_DB11G."

    Can I copy my 10g listerner.ora enty in my listnerer.ora 11g and rename/edit the 10g to listener2.
    and start then 11g receiver?

    I prefer to use the two auditors.

    Thank you...

    That what I have to do to get the two DB on the same listener was my question.

    I received this Burleson Oracle DBA Forum:
    http://dbaforums.org/Oracle/index.php?showtopic=9569

    Thank you.

    There is room for improvement in this other thread. Some examples of file listener.ora to a 10g R2 on Windows listener serving 10.2.0.4 11.1.0.7 database instances:

    TRACE_LEVEL_LISTENER = 0
    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
      (SID_LIST =
        (SID_DESC =
          (GLOBAL_DBNAME = VM)
          (ORACLE_HOME = C:\oracle\product\10.2.0)
          (SID_NAME = VM)
        )
        (SID_DESC =
          (GLOBAL_DBNAME = LT)
          (ORACLE_HOME = C:\oracle\product\10.2.0)
          (SID_NAME = LT)
        )
        (SID_DESC =
          (GLOBAL_DBNAME = LT2)
          (ORACLE_HOME = C:\oracle\product\10.2.0)
          (SID_NAME = LT2)
        )
        (SID_DESC =
          (GLOBAL_DBNAME = VM11)
          (ORACLE_HOME = C:\Oracle\Product\11.1.0)
          (SID_NAME = VM11)
        )
        (SID_DESC =
          (GLOBAL_DBNAME = VMTEST)
          (ORACLE_HOME = C:\Oracle\Product\11.1.0)
          (SID_NAME = VMTEST)
        )
      )

    LISTENER =
      (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
        (DESCRIPTION =
          (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 192.185.50.51)(PORT = 1521))
        )
      )

    SAVE_CONFIG_ON_STOP_LISTENER = TRUE

    There are probably things to improve in the above listener.ora file, but it works. It is also possible to use a 11.1.0.7 earpiece to maintain a 10.2.0.4 database instance - the listener.ora follows the same pattern.

    Create a newinv user identified by newinv.

    Then I connected as a DBA a given resource and connect, rights imp_full_database of newinv.

    When I use the import command to import the complete database as

    then his send me errors like

    Missing INVROLE, Tablespace missing photo.

    My question is what Else I should do prior to a full database import. Please help me.

    Thank you

    Shoaib

    You made an export of the USER, not a FULL export.

    Only a FULL export of the CREATE TABLESPACE, CREATE ROLE, orders CREATE USER etc. must be performed by the import.

    Your import cannot run these commands because they do not exist in the export dumpfile.

    For a migration simple schema using import and export of the USER, you must manually create the TABLESPACEs, roles, USERS and privileges before you start the import operation.

  • SOAP.jar loading in a 10g database

    Hello

    We recently moved from an Oracle 9i to 10g database.
    On the Oracle 9i, we used the guidelines referred to in the http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/jsp/pdf/JavaDB_Use_Case.pdf to set up communication with a secure Web service.

    However after the new basis of these same files JAR no longer seem to be valid. Well, actually only the SOAP.jar load is no longer in the database. She complained about missing classes (OracleSOAPHTTPConnection cannot be resolved) - the "funniest" however is that exactly this class is defined in SOAP.jar if you open the jar file.

    Can someone give me advice on what could be wrong--of course miss me something quite fundamental - I'm at a loss for what this could be good.

    Kind regards

  • Imported a few diagrams of Oracle database 11g oracle 10g

    Hello

    I have the task to import some schemas are basis of oracle 10g (10.2.0.4) in the database to oracle 11 GR 2 (11.2.0.2). Now I only oracle 10g export and import utility (the 11g server is not where I give myself the import duties).

    I can do the export of the g 10 patterns using the 10 g utility to export and then import into database 11 g using the 10 g import utility? I ran a test to do this and found it works but I would like also to have advice from experts on this subject.

    Also another question is: If the schema of the source is 11g - assume - can the utility of export/import of 10g still work in this case? I mean the scheme for the export of db1 say (which is 11 g) using 10 g utility to export and import them into 11 g db2 database (which is still 11 g) using 10 g import? I request because I don't have access to the 11g server and trying to find what I can do with the 10g utilities.

    Thank you

    set up a database connection to the database to version 10 gr 2 in 11 GR 2 database.
    Now using the client impdp GR 11, 2 utility use
    Impdp network_link =

    Fact.
    Your "objection" you have no access to GR 2 11 does not count that you can install a client of 11 GR 2.

    Also in general do not use a version more low imp to imp to a higher version database
    Exp and imp are also deprecated in 10g and more.

    If you import a single schema, you could just start importing and then correct errors (even back the schema and re - import).

    In any case, this document is more than enough:

    Just a suggestion: use the buffer parameter when importing:
