IMP from 11g to 10g db

Hi all

I am importing an expdat.dmp which is a power of 11g lower of 10g db.

If I use a client 11g for import to 10g. But I do not understand why some tables got imported while others were not :(

The error said that the table already exists, while in fact it is not yet here.

You encounter this kind of problem?

Or how to import a dump of 11g to 10g?

Thank you very much

Yxz

Well, the solution could be as simple as that. Instead of left-clicking the executable command prompt or shortcut, hold SHIFT key and right click. This gives you the "Run as Administrator" option.

    Hello
    Think maybe it's a bug - there are a number of issues related to this kind of thing and I think you should be on 10.2.0.3 at least to do this.

    Sorry - iniitially I thought that you were shooting 10 g (and not the reverse).

  • The upgrade from 11g to 12 c

    Hello

    We intend to improve our databases of 11g (11.2.0.3.11) to 12 c (12.1.0.2). We would like to know what are the steps that we need to upgrade the position.

    (1) all 11 g AWs automatically updated to 12 c? or do we rebuild US 11g AWs on 12 c after the upgrade? (We had to rebuild AWs after upgrading to 10g and 11g)

    (2) are there accessories performance in 12 c, which will apply to only AWS built on top of the 12 c?

    (3) we have an AW 10 g 11 g-based. Is it still compatible with 12 c AW?

    Thank you

    Dietsch.

    Hi dietsch,

    My answers are online.

    (1) all 11 g AWs automatically updated to 12 c? or do we rebuild US 11g AWs on 12 c after the upgrade? (We had to rebuild AWs after upgrading to 10g and 11g)

    The upgrade from 11g to 12 c requires no AWs to rebuild.

    (2) are there accessories performance in 12 c, which will apply to only AWS built on top of the 12 c?

    He might have a few new optimizations that have been incorporated into the version of 12 c of the AW you will not have access to until you rebuild the AW, but that does not prevent you from using the 11g version of the AW of 12 c.

    (3) we have an AW 10 g 11 g-based. Is it still compatible with 12 c AW?

    Yes, 12 c is backward compatible with an AW 10 g.

    In addition, once you upgrade it has some new features that you can use for OLAP.  The display below describe some of them.

  • Tag not created after the upgrade from 9i to 10g

    We upgrade from 9i to 10g - time - and we hit some "unexpected."

    If I run
        SELECT  xmlelement("TestMsg",
                        XMLFOREST(m.tx_id   "MsgNum",
                                  m.tx_type "MsgTyp"

                        ) ut_xml
        FROM (select 1 tx_id, 'test' tx_type from dual) m
    on my 9.2.0.4 database, I get
    <TestMsg>
      <MESSAGE>
        <MsgNum>1</MsgNum>
        <MsgTyp>test</MsgTyp>
      </MESSAGE>
    </TestMsg>
    -an additional label is created according to the XMLFOREST item alias.

    on my 10.2.0.4 database, I get
    <TestMsg>
      <MsgNum>1</MsgNum>
      <MsgTyp>test</MsgTyp>
    </TestMsg>
    No MESSAGE tags.

    Some XML parsing we take into account this MESSAGE tag and so is now breaking.

    I guess my question is to know if we have messed up the installation of XMLDB or if 9i conduct was wrong and we should change the analysis of the behavior of 10g.

    The current behavior is correct, the old behavior is incorrect. Raising an SR will not help unless there is a very strong business case to ensure backward compatibility for the incorrect behavior in an event. Workaround are change code analysis to deal with the new format, or change the code that generates the XML code to include additional call to XMLElement

    There is room for improvement in this other thread. Some examples of file listener.ora to a 10g R2 on Windows listener serving 10.2.0.4 11.1.0.7 database instances:

    TRACE_LEVEL_LISTENER = 0
    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
      (SID_LIST =
        (SID_DESC =
          (GLOBAL_DBNAME = VM)
          (ORACLE_HOME = C:\oracle\product\10.2.0)
          (SID_NAME = VM)
        )
        (SID_DESC =
          (GLOBAL_DBNAME = LT)
          (ORACLE_HOME = C:\oracle\product\10.2.0)
          (SID_NAME = LT)
        )
        (SID_DESC =
          (GLOBAL_DBNAME = LT2)
          (ORACLE_HOME = C:\oracle\product\10.2.0)
          (SID_NAME = LT2)
        )
        (SID_DESC =
          (GLOBAL_DBNAME = VM11)
          (ORACLE_HOME = C:\Oracle\Product\11.1.0)
          (SID_NAME = VM11)
        )
        (SID_DESC =
          (GLOBAL_DBNAME = VMTEST)
          (ORACLE_HOME = C:\Oracle\Product\11.1.0)
          (SID_NAME = VMTEST)
        )
      )

    LISTENER =
      (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
        (DESCRIPTION =
          (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 192.185.50.51)(PORT = 1521))
        )
      )

    SAVE_CONFIG_ON_STOP_LISTENER = TRUE

    There are probably things to improve in the above listener.ora file, but it works. It is also possible to use a 11.1.0.7 earpiece to maintain a 10.2.0.4 database instance - the listener.ora follows the same pattern.

  • Imported a few diagrams of Oracle database 11g oracle 10g

    Hello

    I have the task to import some schemas are basis of oracle 10g (10.2.0.4) in the database to oracle 11 GR 2 (11.2.0.2). Now I only oracle 10g export and import utility (the 11g server is not where I give myself the import duties).

    I can do the export of the g 10 patterns using the 10 g utility to export and then import into database 11 g using the 10 g import utility? I ran a test to do this and found it works but I would like also to have advice from experts on this subject.

    Also another question is: If the schema of the source is 11g - assume - can the utility of export/import of 10g still work in this case? I mean the scheme for the export of db1 say (which is 11 g) using 10 g utility to export and import them into 11 g db2 database (which is still 11 g) using 10 g import? I request because I don't have access to the 11g server and trying to find what I can do with the 10g utilities.

    Thank you

    set up a database connection to the database to version 10 gr 2 in 11 GR 2 database.
    Now using the client impdp GR 11, 2 utility use
    Impdp network_link =

    Fact.
    Your "objection" you have no access to GR 2 11 does not count that you can install a client of 11 GR 2.

    Also in general do not use a version more low imp to imp to a higher version database
    Exp and imp are also deprecated in 10g and more.

    Hi Sophie,.

    First of all you need from 10g and 11g, you must run a .bat to the path file and follow steps as collect files artifact like NQSconfig.ini, instanceconfig.xml, DBfeatures.ini with RPD and catalog to upgrade to 11g.

    Here's the process step by step and upgrade some artifact files manually given in step 2 of this blog http://prolynxuk.com/blog/?p=424

    If the problem persists manually update you the file DBfeature.ini goes to the very spot in 10g and copy them into the path of 11g.

    hope helps you.
