Import a designer 6i repository in a 10g database?
HelloI have a Designer sitting in a 8.1.7.4 6i repository database and I would like to get rid of this database by importing the repository into a database 10g or 11g. My question is is it possible and have Designer 6 still works? If so, how easy it is?
Thank you
Adam

There is some additional information in MOS Doc 230891.1 (WARNING: note significant 6i x Oracle9i certification (or higher) Designer/repository)

This error doesn't seem to appear in SDDM 4.0.3.
Is there a regression? Or can I change something in the designer to avoid this error?
Thanks for your help.

Hi Cedric,
Thanks for reporting this. I connected a bug on this issue.
It seems that this problem occurs whenever a view references another view.
If the 4.0.3 version works for you, you probably better to stick with that until this problem is resolved.

A 10G database can house catalog for an 11G database?
Hi all
I'm experimenting with 11G. I've "improved" a (export-import datapump) instance of an instance of 10G to 11G.
Our database that we use to catalog RMAN is 10G.
I created a new user of rman11 on the catalogue instance. He was granted the appropriate privs/roles.
11G machine, I connected through RMAN catalog user, that I had just created. I rant the create catalog command, which seemed to run successfully.
I tried then to save the database 11G with the new catalogue and things exploded.

I was under the impression that the version of the database of the catalogue of accommodation did not matter, only that you used the correct version of RMAN to create the catalog. Isn't this true?
I'm not find much on this error so far regarding configurations RMAN, with updates from 10 to 11.
Links or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
CayenneYou hit a bug as explained in this metalink note:
Cannot save 11.1.0.6 database with Rman catalog - ERROR ORA-04023
You don't tell a version number (10g, 11g market labels), the problem should be solved when the catalog database is - at least - to version 10.2.0.3.

SOAP.jar loading in a 10g database
Hello
We recently moved from an Oracle 9i to 10g database.
On the Oracle 9i, we used the guidelines referred to in the http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/jsp/pdf/JavaDB_Use_Case.pdf to set up communication with a secure Web service.
However after the new basis of these same files JAR no longer seem to be valid. Well, actually only the SOAP.jar load is no longer in the database. She complained about missing classes (OracleSOAPHTTPConnection cannot be resolved) - the "funniest" however is that exactly this class is defined in SOAP.jar if you open the jar file.
Can someone give me advice on what could be wrong--of course miss me something quite fundamental - I'm at a loss for what this could be good.
Kind regards

What are the requirements to import Substance Designer for fuse
I made a custom in the designer background. During the import, I get an error message incompatible on the entry of the Substance. I'm headed to consult the manual for the requirements, but I do not think need to no specific setting for to SBSRS file. Import works when tested with a common Substance, I downloaded. So what I am doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated!
Fuse uses a slightly older SDK of the Substance. To make your compatible stuff, you will need to go to the preferences of project and set the compatibility mode for Substance engine V4. In compatibility mode, the incompatible nodes must be highlighted in yellow.

If you import a single schema, you could just start importing and then correct errors (even back the schema and re - import).
In any case, this document is more than enough:

Just a suggestion: use the buffer parameter when importing:
IMP BUFFER = 10000000...

Hi, I'm really new to OBIEE 10 g.
I've already implemented a database SQL Server 2005 in physics and import a vw_Dim_retail_branch view.
The view has 3 columns: branch_id, branch_code, branch_desc.
Now, I want to set up the business model to map this physical table (view).
I created a new business model
Adding new logic table Dim_retail_branch
In sources, added the vw_Dim_retail_branch as a table source.
But in the logical table source column mapping tab window, it is empty. I thought he should be able to identify all of the columns in vw_Dim_retail_branch, but no. The spectacle of the mapped column is checked.
What should I do here? Each column type manually?
Hello
You can drag and drop the columns from the physical layer to layer MDB.
Select 3 columns and drag and drop it to the logical column created in the MDB layer.

Import text designed from InDesign Adobe Edge animate
It is doable, but extremely laborious to make advanced text of large chunks of text editing, to animate dashboard. I can do it in InDesign, but I did find a way to export edge unless I have to export it as a .png - but the quality is a lot less if I on the edge.
Any recommendations?
Hi tore,
At the moment this workflow does not exist, you would unfortunately have to the style of your text inside to animate it.

How to know if a 10g database includes diagnosis/tuning pack license

no indication on how to understand if the packs are included or not?

I think that simply verify that the customers license agreement is usually a steer better. It's the Enterprise edition, they will be installed by default, if you do not use them. Oracle has a series of similar scripts to GDR that determine which has been used or not used in case they are a site audit. It is quite easy with older versions for some to inadvertently use AWR etc.
If it's a customer site I guess someone will have a beef about what is and what is not used (what previous DBA or developers had access to the). The client would know that their license is or be able to know of their Oracle customer support rep? I think in 10G, these reports were not unreliable (ready to use) so it would be quite convenient to query and see if snapshots are populated.
There are a few other posts on the forum on the same topic can be more use: dba_feature_usage_statistics are trustworthy?

Database 11g expdp, impdp in a 10g database for
Hello
I would like to export an Oracle 11 g server to import it into an oracle database 10 g, which method is correct:
1 - expdp (binary 10g)
2 - expdp (binary 11 g) using the VERSION = 10.2 setting
Thank you
second method, you must specify the parameter version = 10.2 while using the commands the expdp and impdp.
Please refer to this nice blog post: http://dbaoracledba.blogspot.com/2012/07/version-parameter-in-oracle-expdp-and.html

A full import by using datapump will overwrite the target database data dictionary?
Hello
I have a 11G with 127 GB database. I did a full export using expdp as a user of the system. I'll import the created dump file (which is 33 GB) on the basis of data from 12 c target.
When I do the full import on the 12 c database data dictionary is updated with new data. But as is it already contained data dictionary? It will also change?
Thanks in advance
Hello
In addition to the responses of the other comrades
To start, you need to know some basic things:
The dictionary database tables are owned by SYS and must of these tables is created when the database is created.
Thus, in the different versions of database Oracle there could be less or more data dictionary tables of different structure database,.
so if this SYSTEM base tables are exported and imported between different versions of oracle, could damage the features of database
because the tables do not correspond with the version of database.
See the Ref:
SYS, owner of the data dictionary
Database Oracle SYS user is owner of all the base tables and a view of the data available to the user dictionary. No Oracle database user should never change (UPDATE, DELETE, or INSERT) ranks or schema objects contained in the SYS schema, because this activity can compromise the integrity of the data. Security administrator must keep strict control of this central account.
Source: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28318/datadict.htm
Prosecutor, the utilities for export cannot export the dictionary SYS base tables and is marked
as a note in the documentation:
Data Pump export Modes
Note:
Several patterns of system cannot be exported because they are not user patterns; they contain metadata and data managed by Oracle. Examples of system schemas that are not exported MDSYS SYS and ORDSYS.
Source: https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e22490/dp_export.htm#SUTIL826
That's why import cannot modify/alter/drop/create dictionary database tables. If you can not export, so you can not import.
Import just to add new Non - SYS objects/data in the database, therefore new data are added to the dictionary base tables (as new users, new tables, code pl/sql etc).
I hope that this might answer your question.
Kind regards
