CPU becomes very high - OS restart automatically - viruses?

for 3 months, I have a problem with my cpu...
the use of the cpu suddenly become very high and that's when I have access to the internet...
the computer is just after this release out of control and the operating system automatically restarts from scratch, why is this?

This behavior soiunds looks a lot like the Sasser worm that causes very heavy use of the CPU and causes also the PC restart regularly.

You need start your computer in safe mode, and then run your antivirus software (I would also like to run your Malware software as well) to try to remove the virus. However, Sasser is not so easy to remove so please also consult the following URL: -.

  • The CPU suddenly very high low host CPU

    Hi all

    I was struggling with a particular host for awhile and am unable to access the root of the cause. What we have so far:

    Physics:

    1 host, 2 quadcores with HT technology (total 8 cores, 16 logic due to HT), 24 GB of ram

    HP Proliant DL380 G6

    Virtual:

    1 x Windows 2008R2 DC/FS 2vcpu

    1 x Windows 2008R2 SQL 4vcpu

    1 x Windows 2008R2 Exchange 2010 1vcpu

    1 x Windows 2012R2 RDS currently 8vcpu

    Recently, the old 2008R2 RDS has been replaced by the new 2012R2 RDS. This went well, nothing special, no complaints, that rent because it was quite a bit of snappyier than the last.

    Then, (and I did not understand what happened yet, could have been power failure) after about a week the Esxi host froze and we had to restart. Servers began and everything was fine, until the problems started.

    The 2012R2 virtual machine currently maxing out at 100% cpu usage in Windows Task Manager, between all the virtual cores. This can be achieved by something as simple as the launch of chrome and Outlook at the same time. Performance on this virtual machine is terrible. All other virtual machines are affected also, extremely high CPU usage in Windows, maxing out even with simple tasks. If I open vSphere and check the CPU usage, it's nowhere near capacity. The RDS virtual machine did not exceed 3000 mhz maximum.

    What we have tried so far:

    -Reboot the host

    -Restart the virtual machine

    -The power management has changed compared to the High Performance HP OS Control setting, and the powersetting to high performance in vsphere. I can see through esxtop that all hearts are at c0 permanently. (Could not verify this before because of ILO2 failing to display this when HP high performance mode is activated)

    -J' tried all sorts of Vcpu assignments, until 1 vcpu/1core 8 sockets on the 2012RDS. There is no pool of resources, there is no reserves (I tried those who, unfortunately, no effect)

    -Close all VM except one (to check if there is some sort of contention cpu), always the same.

    I think something is gone belly up when the host rebooted, simply unable to understand why, and apart from the crazy CPU usage, the server running now stable.

    Any input is greatly appreciated.

    This has been fixed!

    Have us shut completely the host, took off all power physically and reconnected. After that, CPU returned to normal. Upgrade to ESXi for good measure.

    Apparently restart with the ILO is not enough.

    Cluster of 2 nodes on Oracle Linux 6.2

    I have a 11.2.0.3 RAC installed to aid vote ASM disks and a disc ASM hosting a cluster database. I'm testing the failover for multipaths. I got disabling a path and check connectivity then reactivate using a Cisco Fabric manager. On some paths - I guess that's the active path, the server restarts almost immediately after you turn off the path (closure of the port). I have 8 paths for each LUN and Multipath - he's shows output such as:

    When I created the asm disks, I fell: oracleasm createdisk BIGDISK/dev/dm-15
    I don't know if that's a problem, but the database works well as it is the cluster.

    Another thing - it starts from SAN and when I installed it found the multipath device and installed very well to the LUN (two nodes). I had to edit the /etc/multipath.conf and comment options the blacklist before multipath - he's would show all paths. However I do nothing else with this file. I noticed in some of my reading that maybe I should have a wwid followed by a unique iSCSI identifier in the file multipath.conf, but since multipath - he's showing all of these paths I didn't manually multichannel updates in the config file.

    I am not mistaken, no sure what if I have something misconfigured as the multipath.conf information is needed more path, or if there is a configuration setting to prevent reboot nodes too quickly if a path is removed?

    ASMLib, if you use it, cannot manage to see the same disk twice. You may need to exclude scanning ASM order devices to make sure to use the multipath device and not the real disk.

    Regardless of ASMLib, if you have separate disks on separate controller trails, you can check for each path of the controller in a separate group of ASM failure and does not implement different controller failure groups who use paths.

  • Cursor becomes very small on W550S with a display high resolution (2880 x 1620)

    I have a W550S with a disply 2880 x 1620 running Windows 10. Once logged in, after a few minutes, the mouse pointer becomes very small, about 1/2 the size of the regular cursor. I use 200% scaling (recommended for high resolution viewing). I can restore the normal size pointer by selecting under the mouse settings, but finally it switches back on about 1/2 size.

    It seems that Windows 'forget' that she runs at 200% scale and turns again to the normal scale of 100% of IPR.

    Does anyone else have this problem? It is a problem because when she becomes so tiny I can't often found on the screen.

    Oh and I sometimes run with an external monitor-normal DPI connected to the laptop. I think the problem started when I plugged the external monitor, but it happens even if I do not have the external monitor connected.

  • Very high CPU usage in svchost during playback of an event in a major newspaper of the events using WMI

    I have a very high utilization of the processor in the process 'svchost.exe LocalServiceNetworkRestricted' during playback of an event in an event log in Windows 2008 64 SP02 using local or remote WMI.  The same happens using Wbemtest or C++ WMI code.  The use of WbemTest, "Open forum" (identical to one the GetObject of WMI API) read just one of recent events in the event log:

    Win32_NTLogEvent.logfile = "application", recordNumber = 2615657 (in this case, it was the id since the last event in the very large to the Application event log)

    takes 3/4 seconds consuming thant plus 50% of the monitored computer CPU.  This only occurs when the event log is very large (in my case 1 million records), the event log contains about 10000 events just fine.

    The problem is that I read the complete paper in a remote program and this product CPU usage charge too much CPU to the monitored computer.  I do not read the newspaper of the events one by one, but I'm using WQL queries but I do some GetObjects and the peformance is really terrible.

    Any idea what to change or search?

    Well, the point to keep in mind is that overall CPU utilization will not higher with direct mode with a local server. In fact, it will be a little weaker because of the much higher efficientcy of direct mode compared to client/server mode.

    The usual rules apply here; You must decide on the maximum use of your machine (normally one trying to limit it to)<=60% for="" the="" most="" optimal="">

    Then you need to see how your workload uses the CPU. with TimesTen there is no blocking operation within the database for a single application thread can, if it does not crash on all external events such as queue of messages, etc. I/O, usually consume a whole CPU core (a large volume of work in the process of transformation). If he asks you to this nature then you want to limit the number of concurrent threads to the smallest reasonable number. Assuming that the machine is running just the application and TimesTen and nothing else and that you wish to leave a carrot free for activity of DB o/s and the background (for example, journal of hot flashes and checkponting) then optimal throughput and response time will be reached with three concurrent threads hitting the database. You can run course with wires more than that but the flow will not be increased (in fact it will decrease somehwat due claim etc.) and response times will certainly increase. For this application profile you certainly wouldn't want to use more than 8 simultaneous maximum son.

    At the other extreme is an application that has multiple concurrent threads, but where each thread spends much of its time waiting for some work to do and runs only makes for a short period of work process then returns to the wait. You can use several more concurrent threads than the hearts of processors for this application profiel. The optimal number will be determined by the specific workload, load CPU it generates and your maximum target of use of the system.

    None of this is really specific TimesTen. The main differences that TimesTen brings all this are:

    1. the workload of database now works on the same machine as the application rather than on a server separate from the DB so that it consumes resources on the application computer.

    2. in general, database interactions will result not in any idle time from a point of view CPU usage (as a consequence of (1) above).

    Ideally, your request will be designed and implemented so that the number of concurrent threads can be controlled as a parameter tunbable to allow you to adjust the workload generated by the application to the specific environment in which it runs.

    I asked S/W AirFASE control of flight data on Windows 2008 Server (HP Proliant ML350 server machine). When I run the Replay, its running slow flight, if I keep running Flt. Replay system will hang. Even with MS Excel & Word response in the process is to slow down. When I check the system via the Task Manager, process name "the system idle process' CPU usage is high (like 60%). Please notify.

    I'm trying to debug a hardware problem on my Toshiba Satellite A45. I am running Ubuntu 10.04, but I don't think that it's operating system or related software.

    THE PROBLEM: The CPU usage is high and applications slowly to a crawl after using an intensive application of memory for a few minutes, i.e. to watch a video or a game. Basically, anything that could use the screen much. If instead, I work only from a prompt, even when the application could do a lot of work, I do not encounter this problem. After stopping all applications, the CPU usage is always higher than normal (90% idle, should normally be slowed down to about 99%).

    Note: My system has always worked very well and I did not made the installation of the software or changes when it started to happen.
    However, the laptop is a 800 miles round trip at the rear of the car in a padded bag.

    DEBUG: This doesn't seem to be the RAM that I replaced the RAM and reinstall the RAM, and the problem persists. This doesn't seem to be the hard drive that I can try to run it from a Live CD (without use of HARD drive) and yet everything slows to a crawl.

    HELP: I don't know how to debug from here.
    I don't have extra pieces of hardware to make swaps.

    Any ideas more how to debug this?

    I think that it is a typical software problem because the RAM and the HARD drive has been verified you have reported this in the message

    So what to say maybe some virus or malware likely to obstruct the CPU and the memory usage
    Or there is some process in the background that are not properly

    I recommend you to reinstall the Windows operating system or another distribution of Linux that runs NO Live CD, but which is installed on the HARD drive
    I m sure that s kind of the process that is disabled and crashes somewhere in the background

    Hi again! I managed t solve the problem myself, using Kaspersky Rescue CD 10. This is the Win32/Trojan.Shutdowner virus and rootkit causes this error. I think this is the solution to all of you who have this problem. Download and burn to a CD from the ISO image of kav rescue of http://rescuedisk.kaspersky-labs.com/rescuedisk/updatable/kav_rescue_10.iso. Make a start of full system scan from the disc that you created. Remove infections all found, including this stupid annoying rootkit, and you're done! At least it worked for me! Thanks again to all who have tried to help me!

    Here's a tip for the user on the problems of Wi - Fi. Suggest from the top and bottom. Maybe one of them will help you.

    (1) restart you device.

    (2) resetting the network settings: settings > general > reset > reset network settings. Join the network again.

    (3) reboot router/Modem: unplug power for 2 minutes and reconnect. Update the Firmware on the router (support Web site of the manufacturer for a new FW check). Also try different bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and different bandwidths (recommended for 2.4 to 20 MHz bandwidth). Channels 1, 6 or 11 are recommended for 2.4 band.

    (4) change of Google DNS: settings > Wi - Fi > click the network, delete all the numbers under DNS and enter 8.8.8.8 or otherwise 8.8.4.4

    (5) disable the prioritization of device on the router if this feature is available. Also turn off all apps to VPN and retest the Wi - Fi.

    (6) determine if other wireless network devices work well (other iOS devices, Mac, PC).

    (7) try the device on another network, i.e., neighbors, the public coffee house, etc.

    (8) backup and restore the device using iTunes. Try to restore as New first and test it. If ok try to restore the backup (the backup may be corrupted).
