• I5-650 upgrade to i7 - 875 or wait for Ivy Bridge-E to be released?

  Then, when I bought my current motherboard, my upgrade path has been my i5-650, which is quite slow, to an i7. I've been waiting for a while for the price to drop on the i7-875, but they remain still at the 350-$ 400 (US) level. I like the i7-875 because it has unlocked. I have a Noctura C12P cooler, I initially intended to buy a unlocked i7 and overclock a little. Unfortunately my i5-650 has no an unlocked multiplier. I knew that when I bought it, but at the point where I expected to be able to upgrade the processor in the year. I did not yet as I used to be an editor very novist - now I'm at an intermediate level and my slow processor has really started to bother me.

  However, now I think that it would be better to wait for the Ivy Bridge-E, which from what I've read so far, should be a processor 8-core complete. This will allow me to take advantage of the four memory channels (my i5 only supports dual channel), a better CPU socket as the 2011, much more big cache on die CPU itself and of course the 8 cores that will be 4 times the physical cores that I have now. I'll also be able to update my motherboard if I leave with a new processor, which would be nice because my EVGA P55 THE limit myself to only 16 GB of memory, 4 x 4 gigs. When I built my rig, two years ago, 16 concerts seemed to be quite similar. Now, I know that I need 32 or maybe 64, so I need a motherboard that offers 8 DIMM slots - mine has only four.

  I'll have to wait about a year or two, depending on when Intel finally released Ivy Bridge-E, but I'm OK with it if it means a significant improvement in my render times. Now that I'm loading individual clips with many effects, color correction, etc... I see a lot more red in my calendar and I'm tired of waiting for the previews made and so I can back to work.

  Any thoughts on the Ivy Bridge-E and its release date, etc...? All I can find is that it is delayed until the third quarter of 2013, which is nearly a year away, but if the new format of 22nm chip is worth the wait, I will be willing to wait rather than take an intermediate step and then spend again in less than a year...

  The upgrade should be based on what makes more sense than your workloads. From this moment you can already buy a motherboard Socket 2011 as there dropping in support of 8-processor Core (they are already avaiblible under the line of Xeon from Intel that is supported on the boards as the WS P9X79 which work as well consumer CPUs (Sandy Bridge (E). The difficult situation you're is you pushcaeed a platform that had a quick u-turn socket wise so upgrade has become limited and the cost of the CPU for the platform.

  At least with the 2011 Socket which is not goin anywhere any time soon. Ultimately, you must make the call whether to move your Board and CPU currently to something that will provide a significant increase in performance as a X 79 part of card with even the quad core (3820) or wait to get a piece of 8 native hearts which is already avaiblible with references of Xeon. Do not forget that there is a cost of considerble delta by adopting a 8 on the side of Intel processor.

  I'm being upgraded from R12.2.0 to R12.2.3, I saw the R12.2.3 Doc ID upgrade:1586214.1 and according to this Id Doc step 4 is to apply the latest pub & T2K delta release packs of update of https://support.oracle.com/rs?type=doc & id = ID:1617461.1Doc ID:1617461.1and I saw this Doc Id but this applies to the version of the database and in our case 11.2.0.4 the version of the database is 11.2.0.3.

  
  

  My question, can I use this https://support.oracle.com/rs?type=doc & id = 1617461.1Doc ID 1617461.1 to apply the latest pub & T2K delta patches or I have to apply the Doc ID 1586217.1 to apply the AD & T2K patches.   It's probably a typo as AD/T2K Delta 5 does not require the database either on 11.2.0.4 and it can be applied on the 11.2.0.3/11.2.0.4 (as further stated in the RFSO, under "2. (Apply the technology needed fixes"section).

  You need a disk FULL/license to do a clean install, not an upgrade license.

  Take it back to Wal-Mart and see if you can exchange it.

• Problem with fs_clone adoption after upgrade to R12.2.3 on the instance of SCREWS

  I installed instance EBS R12.2.0 Vision on Oracle Linux Server version 6.5 x 86-64 with Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel Module 3 (3.8.13 - 16.2.2.el6uek.x86_64) and then updated to R12.2.3.  Everything went smoothly with the initial installation, the AD and T2K patches and the adoption patch cycle to 12.2.3 update.  I'm having a problem with the fs_clone running, which is the first step of the subsequent update of doc 1586214.1.  The other phases of the adoption ran OK see below.  Also here is the error I get and you want to know if anyone has experienced this or ideas?  I searched google and MOS but couldn't find a direct hit.  I'm new to adoption and struggling to solve it... any help would be appreciated. I ran to the stage of fs_clone once or twice but I got the same result.

  Looks like you need to add more space to the directory/tmp, I see the following entries in the CLONE*.error file.

• Just upgraded to FF8 it loads for a second and then the notifier accident happens.

  It won't work at all. IE works well, Chrome works very well. I turn off the firewall, still does not work, to same problrem. FF is also on the list of exceptions. I can not find how to get down to ver 7 see that the problem is with worm 8. Help.

  I tried to do an installation upgrade form Windows XP the Cd provided with the laptopo (Dell Inspiron Mini 10), that my computer kept restarting. The Setup program has progressed in the "installing windows" stage, but would not increase spending 37 minutes.   and delete my C:\\windows\system32\$winnt$.inf file. I now realize that was a mistake! The installer now shows that I can't continue the installation program as needed from one of the windows of the elements is missing. Now, it won't even reach 37 mins... any help would be appreciated a lot a lot a lot!

• Accident Windows 10 upgrade after a power fluctuation

  In my computer having Windows 7 basic edition, I downloaded Win10 SW but during the upgrade process, my computer crashed due to power failure and I had to go back to original version of Win 7 system recovery database.

  Now, the system works on Win 7 and even after upgrading to SP1 of Win7 and IE11 Upgrade Windows icon does not appear for Windows 10 upgrade.

  I tried running GW10 Appdiagnostics.diagcab utility as suggested on the MS website, but it says upgrade is not possible.

  Some experts can can help me and tell me what is the solution to Win10 and oblige.

  The fastest way to get the upgrade is to download the ISO.  Year ISO is like a dvd in order to to use, you need to right click > go up.  Begin upgrading Windows.

  We are having a single node 12.2.4 EBS instance DB & Apps on the same server. We applied the AD & patches delta 7 for our EBS 12.2.4 T2K which went well. After that when we took the fs_clone, it fails with the following error:

  A little late on this thread, but assuming that you have enough space and still get the error "there is not enough space on the volume that you specified.

  What is the space allocated for the mount point where you try to install? If it is greater than 2.5 TB, you can get this error. Re-size and try again.
