  • EliteBook 8540w: battery - battery load, but not charging

    Hello

My HP elitebook 8540w works perfectly accept for one small thing, the battery. The laptop is bought in 2012.

When my battery is mounted and the AC is plugged in, it is said: connected Ac, battery charging. But in fact the battery in the logo remains static, and it does not charge. It's already a second new battery (first, I asked the supplier of spare batteries to send a new one, ordered through parts EET, accepted HP dealer for replacements).

When I run hp support assistant, he says: the battery is faulty, replace immediately.

Underneath, it gives the code: 9LN162-000000-XD7U3F-C0CU03

This was also the case with the previous "new battery." Same code.

I lost faith in the assistand of support from hp on this part, since it is already a second new battery...

I've tried all - remove driver for battery manager and holding down power button and other things.

Does not work. The fault could be in the laptop?

    Help, please?

    Niels

I contacted the service to call hp and they told me that the error code is not really explain anything about the specifics of the problem. It's probably the connection between the motherboard - battery and AC adapter plugin, because I tried different batteries, adapter, software reinstalls etc.

One thing however, HPA, he says that the status code is 0c. I have not encountered this code while browsing the web, you may know what it represents?

I will contact a repairman to do the hardware checks, since I am out of warranty.

    Thanks for your help!

  • U310 battery plugged in but not charging

    Hello

My battery stops approximately 58% of load. I have the power management set to «optimized battery life» I understand that this has something to do with a charge/discharge threshold setting. How can I change this? Also, what would be a good standard to (good for the health of the battery).

    Thank you!

    Dear Kaldr,

    Welcome to Lenovo Community

The (battery optimized) contributes to the protection of the battery and increase the battery life.

By choosing the (optimized battery), the fresh battery at 60% and stops charging the battery and then it take its power from the charger, so if you want to charge the battery to 100%, you should choose (maximum autonomy).

Please try this solution and if the problem persists, let me know.

  • Pavilion 15 laptop: my battery is plugged in but not charging

    Hello experts,

The battery on my PC - computer HP Pavilion 15 laptop is connected but does not support. It seems to happen for a while, because he says that the battery is at 0%. I checked some old posts here, they spoke to remove battery to check the AC adapter and power cord. I guess I can't do that since the battery has zero percent left, once I unplugged the power cord, the laptop was gone black, so I guess it must be the battery problem. It seems pretty complicated to check if my battery is completely dead and needs to be replaced, is there an easier way for me to decide if I need a new battery?

PS. I tried Microsoft compatible control ACPI battery to uninstall and reinstall method, it didn't work on mine.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi @greengem,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion Notebook 15 and problems with the battery, no load before turning off. Here is a link to calibrate and test the battery.  Here is a link to solve the problems of the battery on a laptop. You should be able to complete these with the laptop plugged into the AC adapter.

The power adapter is the one that was purchased with the portable?

Plug in the power adapter directly into a wall outlet works. Do not connect it a power strip, surge arrester, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue.

Please let me know how it goes.

  • charger is plugged in but not charging

my laptop charger is plugged in, but do not load, I'm not sure what is wrong and need assistance as soon as possible.

    Hello

It is possible that the battery is bad or the charger is, and you might need help, from a real computer
Shop (not the leeks and the glances at a BestBuy or other BigBox stores) or system manufacturer support.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

Control Panel control - plan change Options - power plans - power - advanced settings

    long to load).

In fact, what causes a lot of wear on a battery empties it too low on several occasions. With today
systems overload are not a problem.

Here are some tips to help and troubleshoot battery issues.

Old battery? Unplug the power to the computer - remove the battery and clean the contacts with a pencil
eraser (do not use this, if your battery is fine slots - just clean up the edges of the knife which fit in)
them and be careful). Batteries are old, or it could be a problem with the computer.
Check with the support of the machine system, and many of them have on line forums.

New Lithium-Ion type battery usually last longer if you do not unload then less than 30%
However on a laptop that not extend their life a lot. Best is to use the a/c adapter
    When this is possible.
