  Did you remove the bits of the installation has failed before leaving? Try to create a new administrator account for installation. If this does not work, try to make a new download from the Adobe site. Even if you bought the boxed version, you can install the trial version and enter your serial number.

  Please go to the control panel (start/program/control panel and features and are looking for any old version of Photoshop in the list.) If you find any previous version uninstall them and then run the cleanup tool: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html if not even then simply run the cleanup tool and check for any instance to install Adobe. If you find that remove all of them. Try to install again.

  I have a computer with Win XP SP3 with CS4 Design Standard already installed.

  I installed Photoshop CS4 Extended, but when I run Photoshop Ext, Photoshop (no Ext) starts.

  I uninstalled Photoshop Ext and Photoshop CS4 Design standard, then installed Photoshop CS4 Ext again.

  But when I start it, Photoshop (no Ext) begins.

  So I uninstalled Photoshop Ext, uninstalled full CS4 Design Standard. I used own Script CS4, removed preference files, then installed Photoshop CS4 Ext again. But Photoshop always starts (not mailed).

  Does anyone have an idea?

  I just bought the version of Adobe CS4 Design Standard education and had no problem to install everything but Photoshop CS4 (what do I really need)!  It does not appear on the installation menu when I run startup, but it seems to be on the installation DVD in a couple of the .dmg packages. I currently have photshop elements 6 for Mac installed, and I already had installed Photoshop CS4 ext trial with LightRoom 2, but they removed from my system once the trial is over. Why is not install Photoshop CS4 and how can I solve this problem? I have to reinstall trial software and then try and activate serial number? The installation DVD drive is bad?

  I have had a look through the forums here do not seem to have all the same questions.  I have three drives in the package, 1-Applications, content-2 and 3-learning.

  I can see the files for Photoshop .dmg disk 1-Applications, but do not know if I develop they successfully install Photoshop.  I managed to install InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat 9 with the parts with no problem and still about 100 GB of free space on the disk.

  I'm installing on my MacBook Pro, with 250 GB HD and 4 GB of RAM with 512 MB video card.  I previously ran the trial version on the machine with no problems, so I'm assuming that there is no problem with the minimum requirements to run the software.  The only problem I think that could touch it is that I don't have Safari 4 on my machine...
