  I am using windows XP SP3 and tried to install photoshop CS4 several times. But each time, after a certain measure of completion of the installation, my system restarts automatically. I checked the Setup log file and found that the last line of the log file is same everytime I try to install it. This means some problems with certain specific activities.   I just bought the version of Adobe CS4 Design Standard education and had no problem to install everything but Photoshop CS4 (what do I really need)!  It does not appear on the installation menu when I run startup, but it seems to be on the installation DVD in a couple of the .dmg packages. I currently have photshop elements 6 for Mac installed, and I already had installed Photoshop CS4 ext trial with LightRoom 2, but they removed from my system once the trial is over. Why is not install Photoshop CS4 and how can I solve this problem? I have to reinstall trial software and then try and activate serial number? The installation DVD drive is bad?

  I have had a look through the forums here do not seem to have all the same questions.  I have three drives in the package, 1-Applications, content-2 and 3-learning.

  I can see the files for Photoshop .dmg disk 1-Applications, but do not know if I develop they successfully install Photoshop.  I managed to install InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat 9 with the parts with no problem and still about 100 GB of free space on the disk.

  I'm installing on my MacBook Pro, with 250 GB HD and 4 GB of RAM with 512 MB video card.  I previously ran the trial version on the machine with no problems, so I'm assuming that there is no problem with the minimum requirements to run the software.  The only problem I think that could touch it is that I don't have Safari 4 on my machine...

  Migration of CS4 breaks the license. That's what 150:30 means. Assuming you are using a Mac.

  You need not install older versions in order to get the last update enabled.  During the CS4 activation process, you can specify the eligible previous version (choose the oldest among a list, then enter its serial number).  Choose any one you had just before CS4.

  I uninstalled Photoshop Ext and Photoshop CS4 Design standard, then installed Photoshop CS4 Ext again.

  But when I start it, Photoshop (no Ext) begins.

  So I uninstalled Photoshop Ext, uninstalled full CS4 Design Standard. I used own Script CS4, removed preference files, then installed Photoshop CS4 Ext again. But Photoshop always starts (not mailed).

  Fix. The only options are to install on another computer, or to a total deletion of the system and disc format. It used to be a full format, but who were able to evolve with SATA being the common HARD disk controller type? There are bits of code written, where you can't have them. If there was only an operating system and the trial, which goes back to low level may be somewhat viable. Otherwise, load it on another computer. This is the only set method.

  Sorry to bring bad news to the OP, but this policy is there for a reason and has been in effect since probably the days offered the first test of Adobe. Inform a friend that you must try PS on their computer.

  The other option is to buy PS. Adobe offers a 30 day warranty, refund, so we could get 60 day total trial. Now, there are some formalities to get your money back, but that's life. Also, if go you this route, and if the trial had installed, be sure to uninstall, run the Script Clean Adobe CS4 a couple of times, then probably a registry cleaner like CCleaner, before installing version fully-paid. Then, upgrade to the latest version. That make the bridge seems to be the preferred method.

  If you plan to buy, with the possibility to return it, you can buy from the Adobe store, even if it costs a few dollars more, just to save the possible entries.

  Now, let me add that if you use for PS, you won't return it. This is the best of the best, and nothing really comes close to what he did. This is the "gold standard".

  Even if CS4 is suitable for you.  CS4 is no longer marketed, so unless you can find a retailer with an older version full unsold CS4 or some who want to give up using Photoshop and sell their license and transfer it by Adobe for you, your out of luck with CS4.  Download a trial of CS6 if you want to be able to buy Photoshop perpetual version or a trial of Photoshop CC 2014.  Make sure what you're looking for CS4 ther is many scams on the web... If you find an agreement with a very good price, beware.
