16:9 ratio crushed in CS4

Hello

I am a teacher of Autralia. I'm helping a student with the editing of a film in Premiere CS4. The student shot his film in 16:9. When we look at the images in Windows Media Player, it is displayed in widescreen (16:9) mode. However, when it opens the file in CS4, it is squashed horizontally, looking closer to 4:3. When I checked the properties of the file, the width is 720 and the height was 576. Is not a ratio of 16:9.

The student is also the insertion of animation (from Toon Boom Studio) files in his film. Confusingly, these files keeps their 16:9 ratio when inserted in CS4, so that they appear larger (horizontally) as live action images.

I have three questions:

(1) why the images display only 16:9 in CS4, when it does in Windows Media Player?

(2) if the film seems crushed in CS4, it will look squashed when it is exported in a movie file?

(3) can adjust you settings in CS4 so that the images are shown in the program in 16 / 9? If so, how?

Thank you very much for your time!

-Robert

The sequence is just fine after interpreter it widescreen PAL and yes the animation is a bit small.

If you do the animation for video with square pixels or even still images dimensions for PAL read 1050 x 576 (wide screen). This is because Adobe has changed the IRON in CS4.

I don't know if you can export the animation once again, or you can scale the width up to 103% in the controls of the effect.

  • How can I get by default aspect ratio of the title at 100% instead of 145,3% Premiere CS4

I have a boring, nagging problem titration in Premiere CS4.

I can choose any default style.  Fine.  I click to place text in the Titler, that's fine.  Then always, EVERY TIME, there the text initially 145,3% Aspect.  It is always great text when I start, no matter what looks like by default in the style selector.  Unfortunately, for each project, I am, normal text is desired, any time that I ever want to use the CS4 titration module, it takes a notch or two more than necessary back to the appearance of 100%.

Over time, it's REALLY annoying when it could just be the default value of 100 somehow.  I hope.

  • CS4: Resize raw images and maintain the aspect ratio

I have a few images in full HD 1920 x 1088 or what it is, and I need to put it in a film where everything is in the resolution 1040 x 584, is it possible to reduce the resolution while keeping the proportions? • Premiere Pro CS4 question: Aspect Ratios

    Hello

I imported my pictures big screen that I shot with my sony handycam and imported in the first. I'm doing a new sequence with the settings of the screen. I then put the film in the source monitor and it seems normal widescreen as it should. However, when I put in the timeline and view it in the program monitor that the image appears smaller and not wide at all. Please help me with this problem.

    Thank you!

What does-looking on the widescreen in the program monitor, but I am afraid that this is not the right way to fix this problem

This is probably the correct way.  My guess is that your camera shoots cropped widescreen, not anamorphic.  Which means that it's really a 4:3 with black bars image and not really a 16:9 image.

It is a problem of Adobe - is not a Vista problem.  Please contact the technical support for this product at:http://www.adobe.com/support/premiere/ and they must be willing and able to help you.  It is said expressly in the error message that it occurredin the Application.

If they blame Vista, ask them to speciics on what exactly they think is wrong and why exactly they think it's Vista and not their program.

  • A customer asks to aspect ratio of 4:1. Need advice

Aspect ratio of 4:1 ask one of my clients. Can I get 16 x 9 and convert the final deliverable in 4 / 1 or pan & scan cropping in the body of the CP, or is - that something is what a relay station would have to do? Since then, I don't think that there is a 4:1 guide in my Sony F5 or FS7, a temporary mat should be placed on the frame reference monitor? Any advice would be helpful.

You really don't want to do it this way. He crushed him!

I recommend that you create a new sequence in the ratio 4:1 1920 X 480 and simply drag your 4K video on it. The ladder to the bottom with the help of the scale parameter of the motion effect to get an idea of what it looks like and how you want to resize it back up or not at all.

What you could do is first use a sequence of 1920 X 1080 and put a top title that has a hole in the middle which is 1920 X 480. Make this title about 25% opaque so you can see what you're doing. After graduating he looks inside the hole 1920 X 480, then she nests in a sequence of 1920 X 480. You can then export this sequence quite easily.

  • Export project HD of CS4 - assistance needed!

I could use some tips working my way out of what looks like a delicate situation. Partially because I'm not very experienced with video production (espcially export), but also because I was a punk and broke this cardinal rule not to move to HD before you know what you're doing. And so wedidng video cousin took more time to mount and export the author a DVD than expected...

It's a big mess to untangle, so if anyone can offer advice, I'd be happy.

I edited with Premiere CS4. The problem is that I can't figure out how to export images in such a way that 1) fills a widescreen tv completely and 2) is actually great quality, I think.

    A few details:

    (1) export in a format screen wide (my preferred export setting is H.264) during playback of the DVD on a TV big screen, it plays on the big screen, but there is a beautiful large black border around the whole image - it is not just to fill the entire screen. On a TV not screen, it does not appear correctly Letterbox and looks very closely a 4:3 ratio. You can see the difference between the menu of the DVD Letterbox widescreen and the much thinner black "Letterbox" of the wedding video. How can I fix?

    2)

The quality is not HD as I expected, and it seems that during the first edition. In fact, sometimes it doesn't even seem as good as the quality of SD, especially when there is movement in the frame and in the follow-up of movement. I shot with two different cameras I borrowed from different people. A camera shot in 1440 x 1080 and a glance at 1920 x 1080. I didn't know this until I was shooting the footage for editing. I do know that if it has nothing to do with the export quality - both look about the same in the first when editing. When you watch the video exported, it does support any motion in the framework of all - blurry motion is in all directions. It does not at first. I wonder if it's because I should deinterlace pictures? I don't know if my camera records in 1080i or 1080 p (and have no idea how understand this). Or should I try to transform the images of 1440 square pixels to correct proportions?

I have read a few forum posts and wonder if the problem is that CS4 can't export images HD for DVD standard bat. I thought that if the size of the file ends up being small enough to fit on a standard DVD, it would work very well. I exported. Maybe that's the problem with the quality of the movie? In this case, what suggestions are there to learn how to export?

Essentially, I could use some suggestions on how to export these images in a format that plays on the widescreen or proportions standard (I'm game for anything that will provide the best quality of image at this point, even if I lose the sides of my images, conversion to 4:3). Or do I need to make some changes before going even to export?

Thanks for your thoughts. And Yes, I am so incredibly, fully aware of the madness to move towards a format I know aboslutely zilch. In fact, I had this thought when I was preparing film marriage - meh, I had no trouble before real with any of my video projects, I have to try HD one day! UHG!

    Thank you

    Heather

If you PLAY your DVD on a standard DVD player, attached to a TV, you won't get HD quality DVD is, by definition, 720 x 480 (US... PAL standard is different)

Export from body as MPEG2 - DVD Widescreen and give the two files (audio and video) to even the author of the DVD

If you play the DVD on a BluRay player, there is a way to 'about' 20 minutes of HD video on a DVD... but who will NOT play on a standard DVD, only a BluRay drive

  • Aspect ratio for display on PC vs TV

I have "he's try to make it as short and clear as I can.

    Use of first Elements 11.

I mainly work with digitized clips of old VHS tapes.  I burned tonight, a project that seems very well when I edit.   Play on WMP, VLC, it displays correctly - 4:3 (with black bars on both sides - it's just the way it works).   But when I try to play from a media player on a 16:9 TV that we have all of these days, the aspect ratio will turn off.   My drive is set to 'Normal' which is 4:3 - The TV is 'normal', but the image is crushed, as it is 16:9 - he is not 4:3 with black bars any size of image, I put the TV.

Looking at my project settings, they are 720 x 480 - NTSC DV editing mode.   The pixel format is D1/DV NTSC (. 9091).   When I pulled in my clips add media, I chose '' from files and Photos.    Should I chose 'camera DVD or computer drive' instead?    I remember that I needed to do in the 7 EP, but given that I just upgraded my PC & software, I've already forgotten.   Would be to make a 'film' and conforms to the square Pixels (1.0) correct this problem?

    Thank you!

Check your TV settings. You have configured in 16 x 9 or Zoom. Set it to 4:3 or a set of program and it will display your video correctly.

It's your TV (or disk drive or media) which is interpretting the video in this way. From what you describe, it is not the video file itself.

  • Menu error when turn off the DVD (CS4)

    Hello Adobe community

I recently created a DVD in Adobe Encore CS4. It has two menus. The menu title has two buttons: Play driver (which connects to a minute 25 TV pilot) and Extras (which connects to a root menu). The menu root contains three music videos (which all the link to the main menu) and a main menu button (which has links from the menu title). I burned the Encore DVD and it played on my DVD player at home. Everything on the DVD works great (menus and videos). However, when I am on the title menu, and I turned off the DVD drive and turn it back on (with the disk still inside) something strange is happening. The menu suddenly compressed horizontally, and the buttons no longer work. Play, up, down, enter, none of the remote controls work more. The only way I can get the DVD works again is to insert a DVD completely different summer and then insert again my DVD. Then he is back to normal.

I included two photos to illustrate what is happening.

The DVD is in 16:9 mode, however the TV I watch on 4:3.

IT IS WHAT THE MENU TITLE LOOKS LIKE WHEN I INSERT FIRST THE DVD: ALL THE WORK OF BUTTONS/LINKS/NAVIGATION... EVERYTHING IS GOOD.

    menu.JPG

WHEN YOU TURN ON THE DVD MARKET AGAIN (AT THIS POINT), THE MENU BECOMES SQUASHED HORIZONTALLY. DISAPPEARS FROM THE BOXING OF THE LETTER UP AND DOWN, AND NOW NONE OF THE BUTTONS.

    menu-squashed.JPG

Interestingly, when I go to the menu root (by clicking the Options button) and turn on the DVD player and turn on, the main menu is not affected, and all the buttons still work. The menu root is almost identical in design in the menu title, because it has exactly the same video in the background and audio playback on top. However, this problem occurs only in the menu title. Also, if I turn the DVD player working again while in the middle of watching one of the videos on the DVD, it still works very well. This problem occurs only in the menu title.

The video in the menu title (and the menu root) is linked dynamically to Premiere CS4.

Here is a picture of the organizational structure of the dvd:

  • New video imported project is "crushed".

Has started an ACVHD project with my raw and am imprting some secondary material that is not of the same camera (720 p) and it comes in shrivelled (people are larger and thinner than they should be) and there are black bars on the left and right of the screen. If she was unsquished and would "fill" the monitor, she would pay the good ratio, etc. How do I do that? THX!

    WAP

    WAP,

Check the properties of the video 'crushed '. This probably isn't square pixels, I.E. = 1.0.

Try to interpret the film and set the IRON to see if you can get the same look.

Note: according to the exact specifications. of your project and that of the images, you may also need to adjust the fixed effect > Motion > scale and perhaps even Motion > Position.

    Hi there will...

First of all, as I see many others, I'm new here HD edition, thanks a lot for all the help of those who have the knowledge!

    Ok.. My problem,

I use CS4 master suite (first and still)

    Remains with HP PC

    The source is 1440 x 1080, 60i

I want to convert to serious SD and play on a regular DVD, again using

I went to Jeff Bellunes Tutoriels (who have been great, I learned a LOT) on the HD - SD conversion... BUT...

all his examples use HD 1920 x 1080 xx, so...

I shot some test footage at 1920 x 1080 60i and intervened although its procedure and it worked great... BUT...

    (and that's the problem)

As noted above, the actual source footage, I NEED to convert was filmed in 1440 x 1080 60i (widescreen)

I used the same procedure as 1920x1080i Jeffs tutorial, but when I took the result, then out again

(nothing special yet... just did a simple a word-transformed into a button in the menu, linked the timeline button, related the end action of the calendar back to the menu, then returned to a folder and engraved on a DVD)

When played on the DVD SD the result low high Squashed crushed another drive... makes everything look small and bigger...

When I started the project in first, I adapted the source: X.V. 1440x1080i30 (60i anamorphic)

that, in the first are States in the preset description box:

And then following the tutorial by Jeff for 1920x1080i

    I'm in the media encoder,

    Export media

    Choose MPEG2-DVD Format

NTSC widescreen high quality as a preset

In the video tab: change the order of the fields to stem

Bitrate settings changed: Encoding Bitrate VBR 2 pass.

Change Min.Bitrate to 2.8, flow target flow and 7-8

    make the selected maximum use,

    left on zero multiplexer

and kept the default audio settings

then moved on to M2v and associated .wav file

Here's what I imported as assets in, made to a TS file and burned on a DVD

I also did a .wmv export by using the windows media format / NTSC widescreen to download high quality preset

for a file to load up on youtube... and it seems well... no crash and the quality is very good.

    () http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mK9n7zjXMS8 ( )

the settings in the tutorial do not work for 1440x1080i? Like I said before, when I used the images of test 1920x1080i, he played on the DVD SD player perfectly with GREAT quality...

Please any help would be greatly appreciated... hope I'm not on for more details...

I really need to get these images converted...
