  I bought Photoshop Elements 6 for my mother in 2007. She's FINALLY get around to installing it today and it continues to give an incorrect serial number error.

  So I loaded her top on Team Viewer to make sure that she does everything correctly (it is old) and she was.

  The error screen thought she could retrieve the number of 'my' account or request a new one.

  I've logged into my account Adobe, found the order and re-checked the serial number. It is correct.

  There is no place to apply for a new.

  Today, I went from 12 elements of Photoshop and first elements 12 tries at versions purchased in a box that came with two installation disks. One of the drives was of 12 items of Photoshop and elements 12 Windows first and the other of these versions on Mac.

  On the desktop Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit, I was struck with the wrong serial number for Photoshop elements 12 installation I did first. Tried 4 x, double and triple checking for you sure this wasn't 'user error '. It was not the case. The 5th test, purchased serial number was accepted and the installation went to a success.

  Tonight a friend alerted me to similar reports occurs for many users of Photoshop Elements Mac 12. See the link at the top of my post.

  At no time see this problem with the installation of first elements 12 from the same disc with respect to the installation of 12 Photoshop elements.

  Subsequently, I installed these programs with the same installation disc on my laptop 8 64-bit Windows, I have no problems with the installation.

  For now, I don't know if this incorrect serial number is elusive to 12 items in Photoshop or not.

  If someone experiences this problem with Premiere Elements, please let us know.

  I wouldn't say that it is a general scenario but yes, it would be the first check/solution to win at least.

  Thanks again. Seems that an update to the latest version fixed. I feel a bit stupid. They had no ducumentation to this effect on their site, and I was not having any problem with SG in PS CS4 then my panic and run ahead of my common sense a little. From SG 3.5.4 seems it's a non-issue. What is the closing of one of these discussions, tag if there is?
